23/3/15 Update

I watched a traning video again for warm up and started a session. I lost one set vs over set, but in general I didn’t play my best game and I wasn’t 100% focused.

I have to focus and continue 4 tables till 10k hands with my best game.

24/3/15 Update

I started with reading today. I read 10 pages of the book modern small stakes and started the work. I played for about an hour and I did a great session with some very difficult folds (good folds I think). I stopped to take a break and take some very interesting notes, including one 5bet shove I faced, from a LAG regular with AQo co vs btn.

25/3/15 Update

I wanted my dose of poker before I start the work off tables again hehe. After 15 min of playing and training my steal skills, I stopped to take some notes of some taday’s interesting spots.

I learn many things from the notes I made at marked hands. Spend about half an hour for notes at 13 marked hands. I Decided to start another session. 20 mins 100 hands and here we are.

Break for a meal, notes at some new marked hands, read 10 pages of the book mss, session.

Maybe I was hurry to finish the side goal of 10k

About Side Goal to play 10k hands with 4 reg tables

I saw that I can beat the game easy with 4 tables. The sample size is small but I feel that I had tremendous edge vs the average player pool. If could have avoided the tilt session that I lost 5 BIs in 1k hands, my winrate would have been close to 10bb/100 instead of 5.2bb/100. Here is all my sessions from the start of the side goal to play 10k with 4 tables.

This size goal learned me that I'm more focused with less tables, tilt less, or I'm able to identify tilt faster, and improved my game in general. I had more time in every spot to dig deeper and find things to exploit at my opponents style of play. Also the warm up I was doing before almost all of my sessions helped me a lot I think. Puts my mind in "poker mode" and I'm playing better poker. If I remeber well, I started again to do this after my tilt session of -5BIs in 1k hands. I have to do it a habit before every session for sure. Lastly, playing at 4 tables, I was enjoying the game a lot more.

What's up next? I don't know. I think of it tomorrow. Maybe I will do another side goal to play 10k hands with 4 tables, training another concept, and trying to achive the highest winrate I can. I think that at least 7-8bb/100 it's achievable with the playing skills I have now. But it's not only about playing skills. It's also about beating mental game problems and variance. So, you can't ever be sure for anything in small samples. 4 tabling seems to work for now. Probably I will continue with this volume. Cu tomorrow.

26/3/15 Update

Back again with a new side goal. The new side goal is to play 10k hands at nl10 6max with 4 tables, hunting big whales. I want the really big ones. I want VPIP over 40 AND jesus seat. After a scan, with the help of table scan turbo and some filters I made, it will be not so hard to find this seat if I have patience. A small taste of the results of my scan with vpip over 40 and at least 20 hands. If I will run out of fishes, I will hunt unknows playing at one table till I collect some history. Let's do it.

Do you analyze any hands or make sweat sessions?
Seems at the moment that you only entertain yourself with poker videos?

Whats your poker story, any link?

Ty man. I analyze hands regularly with poker friends and less by posting at forums lately. Maybe I should post some hands more regularly. Mostly a do session reviews, and wrote notes about my opponents. The last 2-3 months I started to do sweat session. It's very entertaining and aducational I think. Today I did 2 sweat sessions with a friend. I read the two book at this moment that I track my progress everytime I post. Sometimes I'm watching a video before sessions for warm up, if I see a new video from one of my favourite uploaders.

About poker story: Interesting question. I haven't write a poker story with details yet but I find it a good idea to write one and post a link some time.

I'm playing online poker with hud the last 2 years. I have made a lot of mistakes about bankroll management as the most people have done. At this moment I have about 1k $ winning at all stakes, cash + tournaments. The most profit is from nl2 and nl5 and I'm close to break even at nl10. I have lost a couple of buy ins at nl16 also. The first year I was something like rakeback grinder moving up and down stakes, playing too many tables most of the times and 6 tables at some periods which was my best in winrate view. I was happy just because I wasn't losing which was one of my biggest mistakes. Even when you don't lose, you lose something. Time. You will win experience of course, but you have to use this experience to learn. The second year I started to have winning months in a row, but when I was moving up in stakes I was losing and dropped down again. I didn't work of the tables almost at all. The last months I decided to start reading and see what I can do with this game. I believe I can do much that's why I don't give up. I started to write down my progress which I like it very much and I think it's helpful. I like writing, and I love the game of poker so why not. Most of the time I didn't know why I was playing. I didn't have a plan. Of course you play to win, but this plan is not enough. Now I have a plan to move up to nl100 and it's up to me.

26/3/15 Update

I started without warm up today (don't do it again derek!) because I was so excided of my new aproach to play by only targeting big whales with vpip over 40 and sit IP vs them. The first session was a good one. I hope at the end of the 10k hands to be ready to play nl16. This session was a sweat session with a friend.

After this session, I sweat my friend at zoom nl2 6max. He is a good player and he was playing nl10 in the past, but he decided to start again from nl2 because he was in the army for one year and he had withdraw his bankroll. After this session, I decided to play one session at nl2 6max zoom for fun and training reasons. A hand AA vs AK preflop did the job.

26/3/15 Update

I started without warm up again (I said don’t do it again!) the whale hunting.
When I say whale, the first that comes in my mind is Willy

A kind of lucky start, with a spot that I hit top set and my opponent str8 and the board paired twice after all in at flop and run twice option. But it was a good session in general.

A taste of the whales at my right:

The VPIPs at my opponents at my direct right are 64, 39, 51, 44 hehehe.

After this session, I played one fpp storm sat as usual and won it.

27/3/15 Update

Hi there, I started today my poker day by playing a freeroll and reading a great article from blackrain about How Your Physical and Mental State Affects Your Results in Poker. My nutrition is good in general, and I'm playing basketball around 3-4 times a week. After reading about endorphins and after making a search at the internet, I decided to put the morning exercise in my program. It's amazing how exercising in the morning can affect your entire day. I'm doing this some days but not every day. Something abour 2-3 days a week. I will set it as a goal to do it for 30 days in a row. A poker friend also set it as a goal, and I will follow him. Greetings HasBigBiceps! Starting from today, let's have a good start!

First session of the day. I closed early because I had to go to my father's house to help him with something.

The crusher is back. Two sessions today. The first one was a sweat session. Very good poker, but bad run of cards. I don't care. Running with ev 6,45bb/100 at 4k hands till now with my new goal. 10bb/100 with whale hunting and 4 tables seems achievable. I'm very motivated last days. The nl10 chapter have to close soon.
