So yeah, we are moving to a safer neighborhood, a more modern house, at least for the next 3 years, as afterwards, we will be looking at the richer, safer and more progressive Uruguay for our future.
Dont think Uruguay is any safer than Argentina right now + is 100x more expensive + unbelievably boring. What's your reason for wanting to move there? Guess you'll get a more chill, mellow life as it feels Uruguay moves 0.75x speed as Argentina but imo that's nice for a little bit, then it gets boring.

Of course I say this in my early 30s and thinking just for me and not having to make decisions for a family too but yea, I'd consider some other province in Argentina before Uruguay where you'll get that same pace of life and feel safer than in CABA without paying 10x for everything.

I feel Uruguay is slowly becoming a smaller Argentina with same issues but scaled. It'll still be different in many ways considering is much smaller but is not that different as it might have been back in the day where Uruguay > Argentina in pretty much any metric you wanna choose be it education, safety, quality of living, "quality" of people, etc.

Can´t say much about Uruguay, but have you and L considered Chile? Santiago still safer than Buenos Aires, even nowadays (although the difference is not that big), and anywhere to the far south will offer significant safety (like, I traveled for almost a month between the pueblos of the Carretera Austral and I can say nothing, nothing really happens there lol, just the raw beauty of the patagonia landscape).

The tradeoff is that, by avoiding Santiago, I´m not sure how easily L would be able to find a decent job, and Chile is way more expensive than Argentina. Like, an order of magnitude above it. And economically speaking, Chile seems the extreme opposite, an hyper-capitalist society where people live to work, still struggle financially, and have no life at all*.

*Mostly a Santiago feeling, outside of it and neighboring places, quality of life seems a lot better

Upon (virtually) railing some friends at the WSOP and getting that urge to get back into the HS live MTT rings yo - very shortly, as I should be getting my residency in Argentina within a few weeks and thus being able of leaving/entering the country freely -, I curiously looked up my results since late 2019 (when I first engaged on live MTT funk ) and lo and behold, am an abysmal @ -41k Pretty nasty variance, tbh, even if I have not travelled for a series since the pandemic (outside of the low-MS Argentino series). On the positive side of things, am averaging overall an okayish 60$/h since focussing (a bit more) on live donkaments, starting late 2017 This year, outside of your standard events in B.A., Rosario and Montreal, I will be traveling to Uruguay and Brazil. I plan on (finally) getting back to 5-10ks starting January 2024 in PCA Bahamas, and EPT Barcelona in August, fracking f**king finally

Yeah, L's prospects for work will also factor in. Obviously, I am quite flexible as long as online poker works out for me, but Uruguay would work out great for having easy access to Punta del Este and B.A. for live games. The future of online poker might be dim in a few years, so am actually factoring this in my decision of being close to some poker hubs.

Unrelated Incohesive Thoughts

In the end, it does not matter... We will destroy ourselves, our planet, and yet, the universe will cleanse itself : enuff said

Suffering. All is suffering. From the plants, animal life to human life, to ooba-booga-manga. And yet, all that matters is the process of suffering and surmounting it.

Speaking of suffering, living in a country crashing is quite a thing... a thing worth to be experienced, remains to be seen...

I will get a BIG 6-7 figures cash in WSOP Bahamas. For what purpose, remains debatable...

Ayahuasca is quite the fracking journey... It shoots you up, drags you down in hellish lows only to rise up from the inexplicably - yet intelligible - ashes

Luv u all

Notes : Mumbo Jumbo style yo

That latest Ayahuasca ceremony in Cusco was an off-the-wall journey, to say the least!!! Or perhaps, more accurately : a just above the horizon insight, converging towards that specific point where all Universal truths meet, you know Yup, it was certainly one Hell of a voyage, also a paradisiacal one, if assuming that certain Demons oftentimes roam around blissful boundaries...

Will be attending WSOP Bahamas in December with a buddy. If there is any resemblance of truth to the vision of me binking a BIG score during my Aya ceremony has any spice to it, then I will be updating this thread in December/sharing a FT link yo

Will also be attending WSOP Vegas 2024, as FOMO hit me hard last summer when I witnessed a couple of friends final tabling several events ; gotta hop on that live MTT bandwagon, right

Weird how Argentina went from giving me some sort of PDST with all the stealing we were exposed to and whatnot, to now feeling more like home than Canada does... Go figure

The poker swings continue to be completely insane, yet I am riding them like a young delinquent soul yo

The Lonnnggg Way Back

My was just not into it last week in Rosario for the CAP's final... Even though they had added a new 4k event, thus doubling down on the previous highest entry in the 2k SHR and 1.5k HR, I showed up with my C game for the first 2-3 days, before moving up to a B game on the 4th day, until finally getting glimpses of my A game during the final two days of the series. But alas, I just think that variance be damned, I was always going to brick the series, which is totally fine, but playing with that complete lack of concentration isn't though. The good news is that I am getting ramped up for Bahamas and if my Ayahuasca vision has any merit to it, I will not only play great, but bink a decent score along the way yo Time will tell...

Since getting back from Canada a couple of months ago, I have been slacking on the MMA front, unfortunately. I mean, I still train about 2h weekly, but do want to double that when I get back from Bahamas in mid-December. Part of it was a finger injury and then, just a lack of mental motivation settled in ; the fact of the matter is that since back in March when we got robbed into our house, my happiness level has just not fully come back to where it was, sigh Nonetheless, after a year of training, I am proud to assess that my striking game is about at 85-90% of where I want it to be, thus not necessitating any more of my attention outside of maintaining it and working on certain new combinations yo ; my Jiu Jitsu game though, not so much In fact, outside of a few takedowns, I have just trained in Muay Thai and boxing. I must admit that I am just not compelled by Jiu Jitsu as others seem to be, but will regardless push myself to learn it and speak to my trainers about the matter when I get back from Bahamas yo

Online poker is going great. If someone had told me back in March while in the midst of my 36k downswing that I would eventually storm my way back like this and cross the 6 digit mark for the year, I would of doubted their sincerity. But yup, it is such a crazy game that we indulge in with such unfathomable variance, especially when your main game happens to be the 4 card variant

Apprehensive. Slightly worried. Yet Argentinos needed a change and could simply not elect once again the Peronistas, which is completely understandable. Do I have faith that Milei will turn this economy around? Nope, I don't, but I do believe that he can fare better, which would be amazing for this country!!! Am I worried about cancelling abortion rights, privatizing healthcare, cutting down on the education budget and making guns more accessible??? You f**king bet I am Here is the thing about making guns accessible for the common folk in these parts : Argentinos are not mild-mannered Canadians. I am all for gun rights in Canada, I grew up with a gun myself, firing when I was something like 8 with my dad and whatnot, and am a proponent of hunting, but Canadians are polite af and just put law and order on a pedestal as opposed to individual rights as the US of A, and do not have this boiling-fracking-blood-ready-to-bash-anybody's-head-in like certain/many Argentinos do It could be disastrous, tbh.

Peace

Bahamas Exit

A bit of sadness today as the grey Bahaman skies have been heavy for 4 days now and the lashing winds have been out of control lately…. It was one hell of a roller coaster ride with the ups and the downs pretty equally distributes, the ride bumpy (of hands misplayed/choosing the wrong equally EV branched decision) undoubtedly engaging…. I guess I feel I failed in (finally!) binking a 6-7 digit score - and financially, of course -, while succeeding emotionally at showing up everyday with my A-B game despite the arduos route.

Am returning to B.A. with head up and somehow stuck in between my feet, ready to get back to family life, the online grind, my MMA training and while still anticipating the next big MTT adventure down the road…. Until WSOP Vegas, it will be 2-3 midstakes series in Buenos Aires, Rosario and perhaps Punta del ESTE in Feb-April ; as far as Bahamas goes, it matters little if WSOP returns or not - but they probably will… -, as I have my sights set on returning to EPT Prague at this time of the year in 2024, where the fields seem softer, the BIs similar, and the cultural scene much more appealing to the drug-infested gang wars in the Bahamas, where going to the general store can oftentimes expose you to gang members and even smashing of bottles in the store as Gs try to display their sense of authority (on Paradise Island, nonetheless!!!).

Run good all

Having to deal with gang wars while attempting to play main event poker in the Bahamas sounds strangely ideal! Of course, the reality was probably a little more jarring. GL with the next MTT adventure and trusting you don't measure ROI only in terms of $s.

Thx bro! Next stop will be... Rio de Janeiro in 2 weeks The KSOP is offering an interesting mix of mid-highstakes tournaments, BIs ranging from a few hundred dollars (will not touch those) to 25k (will not play the latter neither)!!! I will mainly focusing on 1-5k BIs, many of which have 60 minute blind levels - God WSOP Bahamas had lol turbo levels I should fire about 20k of BIs, forever gunning for that elusive 6 digit score - and I am determined af to bink it, as I was priorly a few years back for reaching that mid 5 digit score

Nah, as much as I am obsessed with a 6 digit score, the travel EV element highly factors in as well. I will be going with L for a 3 day holiday in Rio before grinding 2 weeks of MTTs yo

KSOP, Rio de Janeiro

After enjoying a 10/10 vacation with the family in Mendoza, we rushed back in the lapse of a day, covered the 1000kms separating San Rafael from Buenos Aires, and barely had time to unpack our goods that L and I were already hopping on a plane to Rio a few days later gangsta style yo

The plan was to enjoy 2 1/2 days with L before grinding the KSOP, but plans changed as the syndicate in Argentina went on a strike on Tuesday, thus cancelling all flights in the process ; moreover, after landing in Rio, I suddenly got hit with a tummy ache - unfortunately a common occurrence over the past month -, to then get an unexpected intense fever shake me up just after crossing immigration, jeez So yeah, combined that with the greyish skies and the absence of sun, and our romantic trip was hit with a case of hiccups - or, perhaps more descriptive, a case of diarrhea, you know Nonetheless, my spidey senses - AKA blind luck - was on point this time, as I had elected the perfect beachside condo yo

Given that we were covered by greyish skies and hit by a lightish rain, we were also blessed by an intense wind that carried with it the soothing sound of the crashing waves

L has returned to B.A. and as for myself, I have checked-in into my new (more basic) AirBnB, will head to the casino shortly after breakfast and will jump in the Day 1A of the ME if I manage to digest/hold-in my food intake accordingly The unique and interesting thing about this series, is that even if they are 6-8 waves of day1 for the ME, they are sparse, offered every other day and thus spread across a week+, making firing multiple bullets in the main while playing the side HRs events in a more flexible fashion, a thing yo Will be firing 14-20k in BIs.

Generally, it has the reputation of being quite easy. In my situation and as a poker player in general that cannot show a steady source of income monthly (an income on the same date), it is another question all together. I settled for getting an immigration lawyer (2.4k), and I feel that it would of been unfathomable without her, tbh. Also keep in mind that the new Milei government is cracking down hard on illegal immigrants, so things have changed.

edit : Ended up playing day 1A of the ME yesterday, got 5 starting stacks within 90 minutes - yup, ran hot af -, only to finish the day with 5.5 starting stacks Which is completely fine, obviously, as well above average and chips worth WAY more when down to 35% of the field left to 99% of the field left, you know. Anyhow, played pretty good considering I had been sick for 2-3 days, ran obviously well and am taking today off to rest, meditate, train, grind online and study. We got this

Peace
