Establishing Some Sort of Structure
Still recovering from the ayahuasca journey... ehhhhh, I feel completely depleted, sensitive, an open scar, much like after an extensive meditation retreat, tbh... On the
+ side though, I managed to put in
3h at the virtual tables, which was a little unexpected. Much more on the aya ceremony to come in the next few days...
Looking ahead, we have
Party Millions next Tuesday (will probably go grind
5-10 at the Playground on Monday, get my feet wet and purchase my
ME ticket), so want to put in
3h of
MTT studying this week along with perhaps
18h of grinding... But, much more importantly, will go hiking tomorrow afternoon, soak in Pisaq some more, pay my farewells to Peru and, you know, start feeling like a human again - not some sort of otherworldly sensitive sorta being from Ayahuasca-LaLaLand
Speaking of which and to get it out of my system, here are
2 insights during my recent psychedelic voyage :
Primo : As of yesterday, I quit eating red meat (and most likely chicken in the ensuing months, if not right away). I came into direct interaction with Mother Nature during my trip, I saw visions of dead animals, understood them for what it was, so enough is enuff : I have done sufficient damage to Gaia. For the record, I was a vegetarian for
4 years from age
21-25, so it will not be that difficult to maintain the habit again.
Secondo : Causality is in illusion. Let me explain. Let's take the Toronto Raptors Game
1 as an example... They won by
8 points, yet the results could of gone Washington's way if variance did not fall for the good guys (think
16/30 on
3 point attempts and many role players going WAY beyond their regular season expectations). So let's say that if the Raps play this game
100 times, they win
70/100. Ok? Fair assessment, no, especially for us poker players well aware of variance... Yet when we look into the news the next day, the narrative revolves around the Raps shaking off their demons of Game
1 etc., as not only do newspapers/news outlet focus exclusively on narratives, but in this reality, Toronto won the game
100% of the time, not
70% of the time like would be a more realistic outcome. Ok, sure, we clearly understand what is a narrative fallacy, but what about a causality bias...
If we dissolve the example further and look into the analytics of the game in question, stuff like
3 point shooting,
rebounds,
free throws etc. can be dissected on their own, thus swaying us furthermore from the end result of the game, right, but what if we dissolved to a microscopic degree... What if the game become a series of vectors, or shapes, or dynamic movements... Or pure vibrations, right, devoid of any form of entity... What if the game was and was not simultaneously... As you can tell, I am still immersed in my journey which, for pragmatic purposes, serves meditation but not really the material world... Ok, enuff said
+2k in 3h this week
Peace
