Played D-game today. misread my hand once, lost value from super whale. Sigh. Also missed a decent bluff spot on the river when my hand was good ~40-50% and he probably folds better ~40-50%. Meh.

I also had a pretty rough February goal-wise. Lower completion % than yours . The drawbacks of us not being machines. Epic March goals, keeping it simple.

I read through limon's epic thread while on vacation. He is big on developing passive income streams and diversification of assets as a poker player. Corresponding well with enjoyment from poker and desire to put in volume waning over time. Volume decrease ; passive income increase. It makes a whole lot of sense to me. I remember you talking about some investment ideas and was wondering how those are coming along / what you are thinking about these days?

+$14 over 1 hour online. Played PLO200. Games are pretty good. I'm going to get a notepad/pencil so I can take notes. anon is strange.

Interesting hand from yesterday:

limp, limp, hero raises to $50 with KK93ccss, call, whale calls in sb, call

Flop ($200)

8c7c3s

check, check, hero ??

This is close, I like b/f.

Hero bets $180, fold, whale takes out a stack of whites and pretends to contemplate raising, then calls.

This is a tell that villain is at the bottom of his calling range imo.

Turn ($560)

Qd

check, hero bets $500 ($1100 left), villain calls quickly

river ($1560)

As

check, hero checks..

Villain has AcJcT2 and wins.

If we assume he folds 83 or worse on river..

Ugh, PPT won't let me figure this out easily.. I just want to know how many Ac*c combos he has without 2 pairs on the river, and how much 73/83 he could have versus a3, aq, a8, a7 combos. If someone has advanced softwares, plz post.

edit:

hmm when I do

Omaha Hi Hand Count ?
dead cards: 8c7c3sQhAh
Hand Optimized Count Base Count
Ac*c!87!83!73!T9!96!88!77!33!Q8 6609 (2.44%) 8919 (3.29%)
2287 54 (0.02%) 96 (0.04%)

vs

Omaha Hi Hand Count ?
dead cards: 8c7c3sQhAh
Hand Optimized Count Base Count
Ac*c!87!83!73!T9!96!88!77!33!Q8!AQ!A8!A7!A3 2889 (1.07%) 3111 (1.15%)
2287 54 (0.02%) 96 (0.04%)

This is kind of confusing, but basically aces up combos that don't shove flop are 2.44-1.07/2.44 or 56% of his range, so 44% is A:cc!2pairs. Add in some random 83/73/q3 combos that fold river and ~50% of his range is better that will fold river. Seeing how its $1100 to win $1500, villain need to fold 43% to be +EV, so missed a marginally +EV shove.. ~5-10% on 1100

1.5 hours online ending balance 1809, won 95ish.

2 hours live, coolered someone and won $2573.

low volume today... played a 14 hour session yesterday. The game was a 10/10 around 2am and I couldn't leave until the whales left. Didn't end up winning much, but printed EV.

investment ideas have not gone well. I'm still interested in Real estate investing. I think it would be a good idea to find a mentor and get into it that way.. Having troubles making the "leap" though. So much $$ in pokers and the lifestyle is pretty awesome

I'd suggest either LA or FL. Both have good PLO scenes. If you come to LA, you may be able to crash at my place for a bit.

Let me know if your plans become more concrete!

cushlash / RobFarha coming to crash at my place tomorrow for a couple of days.

Going to be putting in some big hours over the next couple weeks. I'm barely on pace now. Played 5/5 at commerce, game broke after 2 hours, went to bike, played for a couple hours and the game broke again. Sigh. midstakes PLO is pretty strange in LA. Good thing I got on Bovada. But commute times between casinos is a bitch. Thankfully WSOPc starting tmrw at bike. Should be consistent midstakes PLO games.

I set some pretty arbitrary yoga goals this month. The 3.5 minute plank is going to be really tough to do, but even tougher is the 30 second bridge. Got 12 seconds today, sso the goal seems pretty untainable. Meh. Ended up doing that tri-pod handstand thing very easily. It seemed really hard when I started a few weeks ago but 10-seconds was a breeze today when I tried it for the first time.

Re-reading Zach Elwoods book on poker tells. Great info, good read. Looking forward to starting fountainhead which has been recommended a couple times recently.

edit:

ooo I can change the thread title. Current title is a bit off / kind of sucks. Any suggestions for a new one?

yeah, games keep breaking. I'll show up and play 4 handed for awhile then it gets 3 handed or HU and breaks. Its like 18-30minutes depending on traffic and which casino

Volume has been meh the last few days aswell.. 2 days ago I played SH for hours which is cool, but games always break.

cushlash/robfarha staying at my place, drunken adventures have been ensuing. Good fun in general. I brought back girl from bar last night, but roommate was sprawling around on ground puking which served as an unfortunate cockblock. Bah.

3 hours of online, took shot at PLO600 and failed, ending balance $903. moar

Gonna head out to play PLOs soon. Played well and ran good yesterday, up $3745. Game was like a 2.5/10 though.

Only explanation is Zac must have lost a credit card roulette flip SOOO BIGGG that he drank away his sorrows in a pool of tequila. Haven't seen someone that twisted in a long time.

lol

Yeah, he was messed. He lost CCR last night, had to pay up for my delicious vanilla shake hehe

No 5/5 / 5/10 PLO game was running in LA on a Saturday night. Pretty sad stuff. I still have trouble thinking about how this is possible. As far as I can tell Limon does at least a decent job of networking/marketing for the game.. so I suppose its just the player base that is lacking in LA. I keep get invited to a private game, but rake is lol-high and I don't think I could beat it unless it had the most unreal line-up of all time.

Some online grinds today. Probably can get 20-25/hr playing 4 tables of PLO100 on bovada. Games are wicked soft. I think my hourly is probably higher than 5/5 NLH in LA. NLH game is so rusty.

Vegas house almost booked. Got 1 room left, its the secluded room, kind of a wildcard. Assuming it will book within the next couple weeks... let me know if interested.

Plans: play live/online LA, play in vegas wsop, get motorcycle license, sell west coast car, fly to BWI/Baltimore, sell east coast car, fly to Colombia and set up poker house in Medellin.

awesome man. Yessssss panama has PLO, especially during LAPT, wow. Friends were staying up until 8am playing when they had day2 LAPT at noon because the games were so juicy they said. Prob the best south american poker city I've been to yet, although I'm sure brazil is great as well. Good surf there but from panama city you have to travel a solid hour outside the city to find waters that haven't been disgustingly polluted. My uncle lived there in the 70s and even then he had to travel outside the city to surf - but yes there are some great waves there.

Great, and LAPT starts right after WSOP and is on the way to Colombia. Almost certainly going to check it out.

Yup, cash out was just under $12k (well sort of, pocketed chips to avoid the 10k cashout paperworks)

Got into a strange spot vs a nit yesterday.

Straddle on btn:

Villain limp in the SB, limp, limp hero makes it $50 with AsAcQsTh, call, call, limper call, call.

Flop ($310)

KcJs6h

villain donks $300 ($1000 behind) total, fold, fold, hero ?

It's here vs a nit... but I think folding/call/raising are all pretty close.

Raising is actually slightly bad because we have only 41-42% versus his range and need 46%ish.

Calling is meh, we have 9 outs versus most of his range, all of which we probably won't get paid if we hit. So were 20% to win $600 and a $600 turn bet, which we hold on to the river 20%.. So it's worth like +240 on a call. We are 80% to lose 300 when we call, as villain is shipping all turns and we haz to fold. So yeah, calling is pretty much neutral EV. It also allows others to come in behind when we have a nutty hand. Which should add $10-100 extra dollars.

I almost folded in game hehe.

4 hours and -368 yesterday. Message in 20 minutes, bike after
