cliffs bout me:
20 years old
18 did lawschool for one year, played some poker before but homegames/ random ****/ got introduced to NLHE by my gf's family where they had adapted it into a drinking game when i was +- 15 / 16 by my 19th bday (Augsut 2009) i realised law school wasnt really for me and i decided to take a year off and browse the job market
shortly after sep 2009 i made my first 10$ depo online, and did a 2 buy in and go kinda system for half a year and ran it up / lost it all till it hit me this is not how u win at poker
Feb 2010 depod 50$ for the LAST time (lost +- 500$ over the months before that) and decided to start learning more about the game, ran good (ldo fish on a heater)
June 2010: realised that the job market sux if u dont have a higher education, and decided to reinlist into university, cashed out a ****TON for tuition fees, books, and spent alot on a trip to spain with some of my friends (who have robust parents, ****in lawschool kids with lawyer/judge parents lol ) cashed out rest for pocket money kinda
End September 2010: left myself with 1K on stars and 1K on ftp gonna play the 20s, not as much worried about moving up fast enough as im more worried to trying to get in good volume and to improve my game (iow: ill move up when i feel like i will deffo have a good edge at the next level)
ps: my friend plays the 100$+ Husngs : reg , turb, ST's and crushes there pretty hard grinding out consecutive 10K+ months for the last 8 months or so , (i wont mention his screennames or w.e because i dont really want him involved in this, this is my goal and i dont wanna talk about other people too much) hes currently gonna move away to some exotic location till end of january if i crush 50 or 100s by then like him (read 4K+ months ) i might move with him for a month or so and take a month of school
however: skillwise im not worried at all, i feel like ive develloped a good mindset towards poker and am willing to learn alot, but with school coming in the picture starting monday (ive finally realised how important a good education is SOCIETY WISE to me it means nothing, i think i can achieve the same things with self educating instead of following a predetermined and by the government organised course for x years, but job market wise it IS important, i dont want to be 'that guy' that gives up on everything to attempt pro poker with no backup plan at all so i decided ill just slow and steady grind on next to my education, and if my poker "career'' takes off then reevaluate
)
im worried about volume, i love playing reg speed HUSNGs disadvantages: less fish, they play slower (ldo) and therefor less volume also with school i feel like i wont schedule everything great and there is what this thread is for
okaythose cliffs where ****ing long sorry for that lol ill update daily/weekly depending on how im feeling / if i got anything important to report
