Im french, first bad beat in my poker story. (and sorry for my poor english)

I've discovered poker during my studies in november 2009. It wasn't the good time to play a game like poker because I had (and always have) an amazing girlfriend, a full time job with a bunch of hours (was in charge of communication for a newspaper) and was in school 3 days per week.

So I played a lot of sng, mtt and uNL and go broke all my little bankroll.
At this time, I tilted a lot and was a complete fish.

In february 2010, I decided to stop playing because my diploma was near and I was part of a new poker business : poker ethical.
In stand of playing, I watched a lot of poker videos, start my blog (www.integritypoker,fr) and read all the books I could.
Fortunately, I got my diploma, finish my work in the newspaper and holidays was here !

The 17 july at 11:12 pm (im a maniac), Ive deposit 15€ in Pokerstars.fr. Like you know, french government decided to forced french players to play together. (good things in fact)

It was holiday time, I had all my day free and it was just amazing after some crazy weeks of 12 hours of work per day.
Then, I started to grind micro SNG. And at the same time, micro MTT.
It was pretty easy because games was soft (remember, Im a french moron) and I worked a lot my poker.

In october, my bankroll was 3000€ (4200$ ??) and it was hard to find 20€ and 50€ SNG because of the lack of traffic (remember, Im a french moron). That's why I decided to play 6max CG !

My first steps was hard because I was a SNG player. So I decided to take lessons with a coach. He improves my game a lot and he is still a good friend.

My bachelor started at this time so I play less and still work on my game. I cashout a part of my bankroll to go in London with my girlfriend spew money in sales. (first brag)

In january 2011, I deposit 500€ on Ongame network and start grindin' NL25 6max.
After 2 months and 60k hands, I was in NL100 taking shots in NL200 with a 5000€ (7000$) bankroll.

My shots was horrible and I run something like 6 buying under EV in 4000 hands. No matter because a new life was beginning.

In march (this month) Ive started an internship in Quebec, Canada. Im project manager in a web agency and Im here with my girlfriend (she works in advertising)
Its an amazing experience to be here because its totally new for us.
We come from Lyon in France and Im verry happy to eat peanut butter and drink budweiser (not at the same time )

15 days ago, Ive cashin 1000$ on full tilt poker.
I still have few hours to play in a week. I have a full time job, Im associate in a business (poker ethical) and I have to write a thesis in order to finish my studies.
So, like a lazy moron, I decided to play rush poker…. what a joke !

Ive discovered (again) tilt, bad plays and lack of self confidence. I win few buyin but spew half of my bankroll at these games.
Its so hard to be in front of computer at 4 am trying to robusto when you get up at 6 am with you girlfriend. And when you go to bed for a little snap, you stay here, eyes wide open and you just hate yourself.

After that I decided to play NLHU. What a bad idea ! Deals with 10 buy-ins swings was hard and after 1 month and a half in Canada, Im breakeven thanks to the forst deposit bonus.

So I decided to rebuild my bankroll and play less.
Ill start at NL25 6max on Pokerstars.

2nd session today. Drop 15$ and these two hands are interesting :

First one :

Vilain is unknown and I call preflop because Im IP and I prefer keep his worst hands with me.
He quickly checks the flop. I check back and I think is range is a lot of PP like JJ-99-88.
He checks the turn and I bet strong. he quickly calls.
On the river I bet again and he snaps with....

Any comments ?



2nd hand :

Vilain is 19/10 and he is passive postflop.
I 2nd barrel because he can fold a jack with a bet on the river.
With the 6 on the river, I decided to overbet to be called by all his K, DP etc.
Bad idea ?

Hey GL with your challenge man. Ill try and follow. On the first hand vs. an unknown I like it till the river. I would just check the river. But I'm really conservative in situations such as that so just my opinion.

I think I must bet the river when I bet the turn. I've could bet more on the turn like 5$ and push the river.

Yeah true I was basing it on unknown. I don't like big pots against unknowns lol. Your right tho. If you bet a lil more on turn and push river he has to put you on min. of AQ if not a set and or overpair. I think he folds his 10's with a shove.

Good session last night +4 buy ins.

29-30 april / 1st may

I've lived a 6k hands badrun and it was pretty horrible.
Example :

Back from work, I logged, in 100 hands I lose 3 coin flips, 2 80/20, two KK vs AA and two set / overset.

But Im proud to stay calm and dont tilt in these bad times.

Anyway, here is an interesting hands against a 22/8 passive guy. 44% Went to SD.

When he calls flop and turn he could have a weak king or a flushdraw.
Can I 3 barrel ? overbet ? check raise all in river ?

I've made the wrong decision....

Hi guys !

I've reach the 20 buy-ins limit. I will take a shot at 50NL !

1st is funny. Vilain is 64/0 but very aggressive postflop. 10 hands before, I've fold second full on the river with 65 on xA5A5.

I like the way I've played this hand.

2nd hand is against an aggro donk. He plays 54/47/22 and he CR 30% of the time on flop.

Am I a ******ed calling station ?

Haha it sucks when shots went wrong.

I've played 5000 hands in 50NL and lost 8 buy-ins.
I run 4 buy-ins under EV and here are some funny hands.
