No graph tonight, just got home and don’t feel like getting on my laptop, just gonna go to bed. Played 4 games and went 3 - 1 played the same fish for all 3 of my wins and would have sat him foreverrr he had no idea about endgame. He folded when he had 3BB or less, more than once. Will for sure post graph tomorrow night though.

Bankroll: $905.24

I def would not consider myself a “math” player by any means, but I think it really depends on how wide you think your opponent will call you... but me, personally I’m shoving ATC (and maybe that’s leak? Idkk) I have at least some fold equity and can win 1BB or if I happen to double up I’d have 6BB. Whereas if I fold I’ll be stuck with 2BB next hand in the big blind and have pretty much no fold equity and will only double up to 4BBB if I do win, and yes I am assuming the SB will shove ATC when facing 2BB villain lol You’re probably right though, but that’s just how I play it. I’m sure it’s been discussed on here somewhere but it’d be cool if someone could do the math for that situation so I could possibly plug a “leak” (yes I know it’s not that common of a situation) or at how many BB it becomes not profitable to shove/call ATC

Haven't updated in a while, was out of town for Christmas and really don't have much to update anyway. I grinded here and there over the past week and have been pretty much breaking even/slightly losing i'm not sure. I can't get past the $920 mark, just keep winning then losing then winning then losing. So as or right now, the day before the new year I have not reached my bankroll goal or my volume goal. My bankroll is $882 and i'm not sure about my volume. So tonight I"m gonna buckle down and play as many games as i need to get my bankroll to $1,000. I think i'll play some tournies too for fun. I'll post my ugly graph later tonight when i start the grind and will probably update again after my sesh tonight to let ya'll know where i stand.

Welp, I'll be starting the new year still playing the $26.25s, played till about 1:30 this morning and ended up at $915. Just can't seem to get past this hump, but at least i'm not losing either.

Here's my graph since i started the challenge:

And here's my total graph for the $26.25s which includes before the challenge and prefer to look at:

I think from here are on out I'm just going to play when I can instead of trying to push through and play just to get volume in. Will update again when I reach $1,000.

Total Profit: +174
Bankroll: $915.24

Way to grind towards the end of the year... even if you didn’t hit your goal at least you actually made a great effort. Perhaps playing only when you want will help. Focus on making the right plays and adjustments over what the short term results say... way harder to do in the Heads up arena that you play in, given the variance. GL and looking forward to your updates.

Bankroll is at $1,020! Finally!!! I may have moved up in stakes to get there, but I'm there and will be playing the $52.50s exclusively from here on out. Will have a 5 buy in stop loss and move down if it comes to that. I played 14 games today went 4 - 7 at the $26.25s and 3 - 0 at the $52.50s. Will post graph tomorrow around this time when I can download my hand histories. As for today I'm done playing and gonna start fresh tomorrow at the $52.50s.

Bankroll: $1,020

Here's my graph as of yesterday around this time...I ended up playing a few games when I got home from the bar last night. Went 2-2 at $26s and won one $50. I know I said I was going to play exclusively $50s but I think I'm going to mix in some $25s as well. I feel like **** today and have a horrible headache. Only played one today and probably won't play anymore since I feel like ****, lucky I won.

Do you get constant action for the HU SNGs or are you waiting in lobby frequently?

At the $25s there’s sometimes a wait, no longer than 5 minutes. At the $50s I always see people sitting.

Hey man, GL. Kinda curious about your 4 game goal per night. That doesn't seem like a whole lot. If that's the goal you set, and the time you have to play, I understand that everybody is different. We're kind of in in the same boat! I just turned 31 and have a 4 yo as well. So I definitely understand about time being short and unpredictable. I just know that people are grinding dozens of these a day if I'm not mistaken.

Side note, try to play basketball a little more often! My first two years of being a dad, I pretty much put everything besides work on the back burner. But since then I got back into competitive tennis locally, and I'm really glad I did. If your GF is cool about it, its very refreshing to have something of your own to do, within reason. I really look forward to my Sunday match, then beer with the team afterward. It's nice the matches are usually late in the evening, after we put the kid down.

Yeah, full time job, two boys (8 & 2) and a gf leaves me with not much free time lol I play turbos not hypers fwiw so to play 4 takes ~1 hour. So after work I pick up the kids then do the whole dinner/homework/showers, then after we put the kids down is normally when I hang out with my GF. Ideally I’d hang out with her for about an hour then play poker after she goes to sleep, but I get up at 4:30am in the mornings to workout, so it’s a struggle if I want to sleep or play lol I def agree with you about playing sports and having your own thing. I just started getting back into playing basketball and play once a week after work. I’m a little rusty but still pretty good, I used to be really good. I’ll shoot/mess around tomorrow morning before I lift and take a video to show off at my old age.

Hopefully I can figure out a better routine that’s more time efficient to get in more volume, but it’s not a priority right now and will just continue to play when I can.

Just play push/fold nash(https://www.holdemresources.net/hune) at <6bb (you need a limping range deeper than that). You can get away with limping a little more shallow though if you have a strong read that they're mega passive. Also you can be folding a bit tighter than nash if they're tight or you have a timing tell. iirc 100% os is at like 1.4bb and 100% call is at 2.5bb.

You can use ICMIZER (www.icmpoker.com) to answer that question. You can sign up and get a free calculation each day (I think). You put stack sizes in and the software tells you which shoves and calls are profitable.

I did one for 3.5BB and villain can profitably shove nearly 80% (22+,A2+,K2+,Q2+,J2+,T2+,92s+,95o+,84s+,85o+,74s+, 75o+,64s+,54s). So not quite any two, but almost. For 3BB it will be an even wider.

Thanks for the info guys! I def want to start studying more and analyzing common situations to take my game to the next level, just not sure where to start...

On another note I should not have played after the gym this morning, dropped 3 but ins real quick. First two games I played bad last game I got it in on the turn as a 8.5:1 favorite.... I don’t know if I’m ready for these swings lol

If the swings are hitting you hard maybe move down, you're playing the $50s right? 10 buyin downswings are common and you'll have almost 40BIs at the $25s.

I plan on moving down if I lose 5 buy ins. I'm confident in my skill and ability to win at these stakes and taking a more aggressive approach as far as bankroll.

I’ve also wanted to start playing more b-ball lately but the only open gym available in my area has it’s from 5:30-7am and during the lunch hours m-f. I can’t commit to playing that early and I don’t like to workout at lunch time because I can’t stop sweating before I return to work and I’d need to take a shower which burns more time I don’t get. It’s nice that your going at least once a week.. I’m jealous!

Decided to just create a YouTube channel and post it on there

On a poker related note, I’ve been sick the past couple days (strep i think) so I haven’t forced myself to play since I feel like **** and don’t feel mentally prepared to focus. Monday after dropping 3 buy ins after my work out I didn’t play at all after work that day and played 2 games yesterday and won both. Going to try and get 4 games in today, so far the competition seems pretty soft, but it’s to early to really tell. Will update tonight after I play some games.
