Confessions of a losing poker player - Graphs! Confessions of a losing poker player - Graphs!

So, I've thought it's about time I make a decent post here on 2+2.

Let's get to it. Here is my lifetime 6max 2NL graph. 100K hands. Not exactly impressive.

I'm not one for giving up though, and I love poker. So I asked myself, what the heck is wrong?

Figure, let's break up this graph further by position, see if that can give us some clues.

SB

BB

EP

MP

CO

BTN

Maybe I am deluding myself, but I am kind of encouraged by these graphs. Clearly there are some major leaks, but in general... it's not as bad as I thought, which gives me some crystal clear game aspects to work on.

SB/BB Play:
The red line on my blinds is clearly a big issue. If I increase my bb/100 rate of blinds just by 1-2bbs, that would have a phenomenal impact on my overall bb/100 rate. Plus, I'm very encouraged by the showdown winnings on my blinds. Actually better than SD winnings in any other position. Is this normal? From this simple graph, I think I need to work on defending my blinds.

EP/MP Play:
Not a massive sample size... but clearly a pattern is forming. Non SD winnings are pretty good and consistent, but my showdown winnings are all over the place... more on this later.

CO/BTN:
Both very similar, but like EP/MP... Non SD winnings are good and consistent, but my showdown winnings are all over the place...

Overall
What the broken down graphs are showing me, is that... something happened around half way accumulating all these hands. The SD winnings were on the up and up, then all of a sudden, on the down and down.

Of course, 100K hands is not a massive sample size, but is enough to identify major leaks.

I need to work on increasing my Show Down winnings on a consistent basis. How it is below $0 in MP I have no idea.

This gives me all the ammo I need to figure out how to start beating this game. As this is a goals and challenges forum, here it is:

I will get my green line to $0 before 300K hands.

Can I ask. Has anyone else had similar graphs then turned it all around?

Any recreational player who hasn't read this forum probably has a graph like that. Start posting hands, read a book or buy BlackRain's e-book and that graph will turn around. 2nl is just ABC poker (raising in position, cbetting, and setmining when you get the odds to).
