Climb up Challenge [NL Cash, 6 Max] Climb up Challenge [NL Cash, 6 Max]

Hey guys and welcome to my thread in which I will share my journey of climbing up the Cash Game Ladder in 2024. Having played MTT and SNG before so gonna start on the lowest limit regarding the cash tables.

In terms of moving up/down the levels I am using a simple strategy until NL200.

Win 20 Buy-ins (100bb each) on every limit to move up:

NL2: $40
NL5: $100
NL10: $200
NL25: $500
NL50: $1000
NL100: $2000

Move down if I lose the amount made on the previous limit (e.g. losing $100 on NL10 -> move down)

My Bankroll sits at ~1.2k that I have accumulated in the donkaments after selling my PS4 for $150 and starting all over again with online poker. It was a fun ride and I have learned a lot and also cashed out some money on the way to improve my poker setup (standing desk, new chair, 32" monitor, good food). But as you know everything in life has pros and cons and right now I feel the urge to be more flexible with hours and location. Have some places on my list that I want to visit and explore. Next week there is an option to get a ride to sweden which I never visited before. Today I can't see myself going there but who knows.

The Bankroll is split across multiple sites which is great to find the best tables at any given time of the day but I guess for the lowest limit it doesn't really matter where to start. In case I need or want help I will use part of the Bankroll to pay for 1on1 Coaching, Software etc.

Once the challenge is finished I might switch to playing live games or choose a different path. Nothing to worry about today.

Thanks for reading so far and enjoy the ride!

Thank you very much @DeeKayBee!

Yeah the setup upgrade was needed as I was suffering for months with back pain and also pain in right hand which affected the grind heavily in the profitable winter months. Since then I really try to get a more healthy relationship with my body and stop treating it like garbage.

One week into the challenge and here is a first update.

After 2,5 days playing NL2 I have stopped the grind on R&C Friday and instead focused on other areas in life. Although I can see some positive aspects of playing the limit and grinding it up (e.g. testing different bet sizes) it also felt like a waste of time because I really wanted to finish working with "Mental Game of Poker" which I started a few months ago. I am not only reading it...it is a copy-writing. So yeah, instead of playing I almost finished the book over the last days.

Have also canceled the trip to sweden and instead got a Gym Membership and fixed my bike. Actually I wanted to start working out today but I woke up with like 0 energy although I went to bed early and slept long hours. Maybe because I have established a bad sleeping rhythm and overall not living a good life. It's been now 4 years since I had to sell my tiny house where I was living with my dog surrounded by a garden and lake which was very enjoyable. Fast forward to nowadays where we are living in a small apartment as a stranger in a town. Don't even know the names of my neighbours. I could be dead for weeks and prob no one would notice it

Right now still figuring out where I am heading to in Life and also Poker. From what I have seen the book is ending with a questionnaire which I am going to answer tonight and finish the "Mental Game of Poker" Part 1. SCOOP and GG World Festival are around the corner and if I want to participate in the series it's about time to get back on track.

Time flies. Wasn't sure if my last update been a week ago but it's actually 2 weeks since. It took me another few days until I finally made it to the gym. The first sessions were great on a physical level like feeling the pump and sweating etc. but also hard on the mental. Had to deal with a lot of regret of treating myself like garbage but that's okay. It's okay to feel like this because it also makes me grind harder right now. My body seems to be very thankful and basically reminds me every day around 2pm that it is time to work out.

Poker-wise i am doing fine. Taking wednesdays off to recharge/study/cook/cleaning/socials and firing mtts on the other days. Tried to change the thread title but can't find an edit button so I guess that's it for the thread? Because I will prob stick to tourneys for the next months. Maybe I'll open a new thread.

thanks for reading and all the best.
