Im in the middle of my life - so no 20 something younggun anymore - and Im playing poker for a couple of years now - but with big breaks between. Cause of my work situation Im not really able to have a fixed schedule or enough time to be more serious and so I was diving in and out of the poker games.
Overall moneywise I hope to be around zero - with the positive side of interesting experieces like EPTs and so on.

Challenge goals are still tbd.

First step was that I quit my job
But it isnt so easy - phone is ringing and the guys from my company are trying to convince me to stay....

I need to travel for a couple of days for work but maybe will update when Im in the hotel room.

Sidenote:
I wont do this (poker) for a living or thinking about going pro - main reason to blog and/or to play poker is to challenge myself and get a full time schedule when Im out of work - so that I wont lie in front of the tv (maybe also some sport, weight loss challenge) and after some month think back with the notion of what I would have been able doing during this wasted time...
After rereading my last sentence I need to add, that english isnt my native language

for my goals - I put some milestones together in an excel sheet
but looks like **** when copying into the forum post. In my sheet i have some milestone like volumebased 100k hands, or chashed in live MTT, and so on

So drumroll .... my main goals are:
- 200.000$ from poker

But first things first:

- Bankroll for PLO100 and PLO200 Zoom
- play more hands min 25.000 per month
- beat the levels Im playing

Started in december with around 50$ - had some luck with small MTTs so my bankroll got a nice push which enabled me to start at PLO10.

You can see where I added some PLO25 tables

Im still in my old job - had a lot of talks with my superiors who are trying to keep me at the company...
Not sure how the PG&C blog will continue - all depends on the real life changes happening or not

thx - if playing is no more fun Ill put a chunk of my money on highstakes (lol right now my whole bankroll isnt enough to buyin) or casino and cash out.

My poker goals arent very serious right now - hopefully that changes when Im able to get to higher stakes

Going poker pro will only be a thing when I have enough money (win in the lottery) and need some hobby to fill my free time. Just for fun.

@pokermind: I know what you mean - Im at an age with responsibilitys = debts a lot of insurance payments, pension plans and so on. If you add all together with needed living expenses......
So I would need secure an steady money stream.
Nevertheless if poker is able to generate a little sideincome Im more than happy with it.

Right now Im unhappy with my job situation - or Im uncertain if Im able to stay at this company for the next years. Also when I want to change professions or better said change in my field of work to another area I think doing it earlier is better.

In my country I will be provided for when Im out of work. So it doesnt matter if I stay at home for a couple of months.
But if this situation happens I want to be ready with a plan - like poker schedule, works at the house, sports and so on .. lying in front of the TV is no option for me. Im used to be challenged and I dont like the notion that from one day to the next I have absolutly nothing to do.

Another shot for PLO 25 into the hole
Was running really bad at PLO25 - but was running hot at PLO10
So nearly even even if its only ev wise

Also Im over 25k hands for the month - will try to get in a couple more hands before the end of the year.

Will have to work 1 or 2 days this week and the 31th is a pokerfree day - booze here I come.

So expect an update on the 2nd or 3rd of 2017

happy holidays and gl on the tables

Beginning of a new year

Started last month with this PG&C - so monthly graph for dec 2016:

As you can see wasnt running/playing very good over the last hands.
POI: at around 5k hands I started the blog and was feeling like a pro - cruising through the limits is no problem....
at 12,5k hands I added sme PLO25 for short swings to drop them again.

Maybe played to much tables - wasnt thinking about the hands as much as in the beginning.

With RB and Bonuses Im able to cope with my MTT losses and have a positive month overall.

Nevertheless a big hit (for my BR) will be the next TCOOP. Will donk some buyins into a couple of events - I dont have the endurance to play slow MTTs like the sunday million - so the turbos and hypers are more fun for me.
Will use other funds to play them for fun - without regarding the buyins as part of my PLO bankroll.

Januar 2017 poker goals:
  • min. 50k hands
  • beat PLO10 and move up to PLO25
  • play and cash in a TCOOP event
  • watch some PLO instructional videos
  • read some books (plo from scratch, hwang,...)
  • try to "really" understand propokertools calculations, ranges and so on

life goals:
  • at least two applications for a new job
  • loose 2 kg in weight
  • work out a little bit (stamina)
  • draw up my personal budget
  • shift life roll around (life insurance, stocks, ETF,..)

2017 CW01 update - hi 2+2

chashgame:
first week of 2017 is over and my results are better but not good
monkey tilt phase in the middle

I have played a lot of hands over the holidays and hope that now that Im at work again Im able to keep the pace.

MTTs:
Also played a couple of MTTs as warm up for the upcoming TCOOP events.
Was reminded how fast a chipleader can fall (KK vs JJ, AQ vs AJ and finally AT vs A3 all in 4 hands)
Nevertheless was able to generate some money from my MTT play - not much but Im ok with it.
Will play some more turbos until the TCOOP

Also was very unhappy with PS cardhunt promo - mostly because of the fact that I need to play minimum NL100 - had the question sent to PS support with no success. It is calculated by my previous play .... They werent able to answer my question how my current bankroll would allow me to play so high.
Played 50k hands PLO10 and lower and one year ago I played around 5k hands PLO200/500.

But as a real degen I couldnt resist

Looks like Im the 1%...

Regarding my Januar 2017 poker goals:
21.000 of 50.000 hands played
very lacking regarding studying poker

life goals:
- wasnt motivated to do anything regarding my job situation
- but I checked my personal budget and changed some utility providers which will (hopefully) be around 50€ less per month
- also Im researching ETFs and looked into my stock regarding switching it

I hate plo
Yesterday I tried another shot at Plo25 and was getting killed in every big pot.
The really cool plo hands like aaxx vs aaxx lost it twice in a row.
Its really tilting when you are happy with the call of villian which is hitting his 2outs.
Rollercoster ride of emotions. Also titled two stacks away before I was able to close the tables and call it a night.

On the bright side I made a couple of deep runs in Mtts.

Have no chart or anything for you right now. Dont want to see it again - going down and down and ...

TCOOP started right now so will try not to bust my roll in the first days.
I know that Im playing outside of my brm but dont really mind it.

Will try to update with more infos in the next couple of days and also give a more detailed recap of last week.

gl on the tables

Hi guys

Was super busy the last weeks
Tcoop was brutal lost most of my roll and a little bit more when I tried to get it back at plo500 zoom.
Afterwards Im aware that I was playing way to tight and moneyscared. Wasnt making the plus EV calls cause oft the fact that i was nutpeddling to much.

Regardless with my last bucks i destroyed plo10 and am now playing plo25. I changed back some chnages i made to my game. Not always its a good thing to try to play the same way the Internet tells you to. Its better to find your own style than to try copy others

Today is the last day and i already am qualified for Phase two in the tcoop event. Will also try to qualify to the Main event but Im not very hopefull. Nevertheless i will also play the Main low and maybe the splash.

Real life is ging slowly in regards to changes will need to speed that that up

Wish me luck

Good luck, keep the grind up may man^^ the rebuild can be discouraging but also add another level of motivation!
Challenge myself - PLO and change of life Quote

thx man but to be honest if you are an plo10-25 player plo500 shouldnt be an option.

So Im not really rebuilding - but was very lucky to catch an upswing with my last starcoins ... no reload necessary

On the negative side only Tcoop event I was able to cash was an NLO8 and a couple of bountys. Everything else bricked.
Im especially unhappy with today - no chance in qualifying to the main event. Was out in the main low early (extrem slow tables one or two hands per limit - maybe some problem on stars server side?)

And a typical tournament situation at the tcoop #62 phase 2. Which I was confident to cash, but my stack was crippled early with AK vs AQ ... A on the Flop allin and Q on the turn. Afterwards I was able to rebuild but busted with AA vs JT preflop allin

this is why I sometimes hate the game

you try to play concentrated and get into the right spots only to lose your stack - somehow PLO25 doesnt love me

Was abroad this week for a couple of days so hand count isnt high. Next week Im also away for the whole week - so also less online play.
But maybe I get the chance to play some live again. Havnt played any live hand this year.

As you can see from the above post Im still in my old job - I set myself a new deadline.
  • Deadline for my resignation latest end of may

Regarding my Januar 2017 poker goals:
  • min. 50k hands
    over 51k hands[/COLOR]
  • beat PLO10 and move up to PLO25
    I beat PLO10 but struggle at PLO25
  • play and cash in a TCOOP event
played and cashed but overall in the red
  • watch some PLO instructional videos
    nothing
  • read some books (plo from scratch, hwang,...)
    nothing
  • try to "really" understand propokertools calculations, ranges and so on
    nothing
life goals:
  • at least two applications for a new job
    no time
  • loose 2 kg in weight
lost 0,2kg ... not sure if it even counts
  • work out a little bit (stamina)
a little bit less than a little bit
  • draw up my personal budget
    ok
  • shift life roll around (life insurance, stocks, ETF,..)
    ok
So overall Im lacking in poker theory. Also I have to work on my real life goals (sport, job) My actual job is demanding a lot from me (mental and time wise) but I need to adjust and try to minimize my "dead" time where I relax - on the other hand Im not sure if it is +ev to play if you are mentally and physically exhausted

Februar 2017 poker goals:
  • min. 50k hands
  • move up to PLO25
  • watch some PLO instructional videos
  • read some books (plo from scratch, hwang,...)
  • try to "really" understand propokertools calculations, ranges and so on

life goals:
  • at least two applications for a new job
  • loose 2 kg in weight
  • work out a little bit (stamina)

Februar goals I will try to be dedicate a day every two week for job search and applications. Also I will do some workout min. 3 times a week (crosstrainer or something like that)

frustrated - maybe I should skip PLO25 and try PLO50?
cant win the important pots at PLO25 - 3way with over 50% ev cant wish for more... just to win it.
