My friend wanted me to tell you guys that he beat me yesterday. In his words, "You have a blog about poker. Yet you come over here all the time and lose." Then this happened:
$5 no limit holdem with two wild Jokers in play. 1cent/2cent blinds with 80cent starting stacks.
He won a few small pots and had a 5:4 chiplead.
I get AQo on the button, I shove 70 cents, he calls.
I say, "You wanna show now or later?" He replies, "Now is good." He shows 65o and I show. Then I deal:
T95r
7o
2o
He scoops.

I'm running pretty hot in tourneys on swcpoker, but the cashgames have been conversely unkind. I'm currently waiting on rakeback, which comes tonight. I'm also in 10th place on the Krill Leaderboard rake race. 10 spots pay.

Maybe I just suck at cashgames and should stick to tourneys.

I went out on some limbs in the strategy forums and have got some great feedback. I think I learned a lot in the past month.
I'm still looking for the next step in my learning process. Perhaps a line from one of my favorite movies, The Princess Bride, should guide me:
"So we go back to the beginning."
The fundamentals. The basics. I must go back to the beginning because I'm stuck.
Perhaps some equity calculator time is in order or maybe some river combo counts. That should get me thinking.
I'm open to suggestions.
