A kind soul gave me five chips to play with this morning. So I gamestarted 4c/8c limit holdem and got action almost immediately. I got it up over 8 chips within an hour. Then I saw a gamestarter sitting at 20c/40c limit holdem so I sat and played a bit. I got it up over 10 chips at my high point, but finished around 8.5 chips when the guy quit on me.

Then I played a 2+1 no limit holdem tourney with bounties. There was a maniac open shoving many big blinds with hands such as 93o and Q7o. You get the idea. I doubled up through him once with 77 unimproved. He took out many players and the bubble was approaching. He open shoves ~35 big blinds, folds to me in the big blind, I call KTo, and he shows Q9o. Here comes the flop: J82 and the turn: Ko then the river: T. I was out without collecting any bounties.

So now I was back down to 5 chips and change to play with. I sat at a micro limit holdem table but didn't get any action. There was a 4 chip 4max tourney going with late registration open. I joined and lasted exactly two hands. I called down potsized bets on the flop and turn and was defeated by the mighty KK.

Then I was down to 1.4 chips. So I sat in a 2c/4c no limit holdem game. I quickly won a few hands to get my stack up over 4 chips, but then it went downhill. Here's my bustout hand:

utg raises 3x, call, call, button 3 bets pot, small blind folds, I call JJ, all call.

762 with a flushdraw

checks to the button and he bets. I call, HJ calls, rest fold.

6o

checks to the button and he bets almost enough to cover my stack. Folding crossed my mind but I've seen people play some very poor hands very aggressively on swcpoker and the guy was an unknown to me. I call with .14 chips behind, HJ calls as well.

I forget the river, but it did not fill me up. It checks to the button and he bets enough to cover both myself and the HJ. We call. Dude shows AA. NH.

Currently sitting on zero bits. However, there are a couple big freerolls waiting for me tomorrow afternoon. I have a 24:1 shot at $1k free play at the casino, which is worth ~30-35 bucks of ev, as well as the 5k krill freeroll tomorrow evening, which is in plo form this week.

Also, I played some cards today just for fun. My mother is cooking a belated corned beef n cabbage boiled dinner for me and my siblings. So while she cooked we played some cribbage and some poker. I took down the cribbage game quickly, almost skunking her. Then we played some dealers choice poker. We played limit holdem, 7 card stud, 7 card stud eight or better, and 5 card stud. We quit after just half a dozen hands though because she had to get back to cooking. Was fun would do it again.

I'm visiting a friend later tonight after dinner and there should be a few people there. I'm crossing my fingers in the hopes of a card game breaking out. I bought a brand new deck of Bee Club Specials yesterday and am hoping that they pay for themselves.

I played some dealers choice with a couple ladies tonight with my brand new deck of cards. There was some limit holdem, no limit holdem, seven card no peek and five card draw, but blackjack was the theme of the night. One of the ladies busted out and we were down to two. I was doing ok at first then I hit a hot streak in blackjack. I hit two hard sixteens on two hands in a row, facing a nine in the first hand and a ten in the second hand. I hit a five on both hands for 21. That crippled her and I soon took all of her chips.

There are a couple big freerolls today. I gotta go to the casino and pick up a free tshirt. That registers me for the 24:1 shot of winning $1k free play. Then I gotta go do some errands and register for the 5k krillroll on swcpoker. Then I gotta go back to the casino at 4pm to see if I won. Then I gotta rush home for the 5pm tourney. Then hopefully after I win that, I'll be on my way back to the casino to use my free play.

Worst case scenario is that I burn $10 worth of gas running around today.

Should be fun even if I lose.

I didn't hit anything in the freerolls on Sunday, but I did get 2 chips of rakeback from swcpoker. By the end of the night, I had just over 8 chips in my account. I played all day yesterday from 8am to 10pm, only stopping to use the bathroom, eat, and to go to dunks with a lady friend. At the moment, I have 0.139 bitcoins in my account, which of course is 139 chips. Hopefully the good luck continues.

The good luck turned to bad luck. I finished last night with 48 chips and went to bed. This morning I played some limit holdem and lost 17 chips. Most of the loss was due to my nine high straight running into a Queen high straight. Then I played some 5 big blind max buy in no limit holdem. It was going well at first, but then I hit a rough patch. QJs<Q4o all in pre. AQo<Q5s all in pre. As well as a bunch of other beats that crippled me to under 10 chips. Then I ran some errands. When I got home I played a tourney and some no limit cash, but I still couldn't make a hand. I busted out of the tourney before the money and lost the rest playing cash. Shrug. At least I should be getting a bunch of rakeback on Sunday night.

I got some rakeback last night and I played some poker with it. I got just over 20 chips. I took it to the 5 big blind max buy in table and played some heads up and three handed no limit holdem. I couldn't be stopped. At one point I was up to about 75 big blinds from just one buy in. Then I started to lose some back so I quit. That left me with about 50 chips.

Then I played a 5 chip no limit holdem tourney. It was going ok at first thanks to a double up on this hand:

I raise QQ early, only the big blind calls.

TT8r

he donks pot, I call.

To

he bets pot, I call.

2o

he shoves, I call. He shows J8o, I win.

Then later on I started getting some great cards. AKs>QQ all in preflop put me at the top of the leaderboard. Then as the bubble approached, the cards stopped coming my way. Then I lost a few all in hands. AJo<KQo all in preflop vs a shorty. AKs<KJs all in preflop vs a shorty. Then finally the bubble burst and we were in the money. I ended up finishing third, which paid about 20 chips. Then I went to bed.

I'm not sure what I'll play today. Will report back.

There were lots of ups and downs yesterday. I played some no limit holdem cash, limit holdem cash, a little bit of pot limit big O8, as well as a few tourneys. I peaked at 111 chips, but then the deck went cold. I should've quit for the day when I was down to 38 chips cus I was getting tired of staring at the computer screen. I was bored though so I played a 25 chip tourney. I was out well before the money. I still got a few chips to play with today, but nowhere near what I could've had if just a few turns and rivers came down differently. Oh well I suppose it's the nature of the game. Still waiting on that hot streak.

Yesterday was fun. I was up to ~25 chips at the high point and I was down to nothing but hopes and dreams in a 2 chip tourney at the low point. I cashed in the tourney for 3 chips and then I played some 5c/10c 5 big blind max no limit holdem. I finished the night at just over 8 chips.

This morning I played a 2 chip 4 max no limit holdem winner take all sit n go. I made it to heads up play at a slight deficit in chips. I climbed my way up to a 2:1 chiplead and got my opponent all in for 8 big blinds. I had A3o and he had Q9o. He hit a Queen on the flop and it held up. I regained the chiplead a few hands later, but then the cards stopped coming my way. I ended up getting all in for 5 big blinds with 98s vs 86s or something like that, but was unable to win the hand. I finished in second place.

I'm not sure what's up for today. I'm currently chugging coffee, smoking cigs, and waiting for action.

Hope everyone is doing well, but it is getting kinda lonely in this thread. Feel free to stop by and say hi or drop some low content ****.

I haven't played cards in a few days. I haven't exercised in a long time. I've been eating like **** and it probably has had an effect on my health. I mowed the lawn the other day and thought I was gonna have a heart attack. I finished without dying, but it was a wake up call. My mental health has been ok I suppose. I've completely got over the stuff that was messing me up last summer, but I have not returned to the physical form that I wish to have achieved by now. A few years ago I was in the best shape of my life. I was working out every other day religiously and I was eating right. Things were going well for me. At my peak, I was squatting 225, deadlifting 270, bench pressing 165, overhead pressing 125, and power cleaning 150, all for many repetitions. Now, I couldn't even get through a light workout. Something has got to change.

My social life is all mixed up as well, but I won't go into detail about that to maintain my friends' privacy. Let's just say that I'm not getting out enough, nowhere near the rate that I would like.

Tomorrow is the beginning of a new month and a new week. I'm gonna start with some small changes like adding a light workout, preferably in the afternoon, and I'm gonna force myself to stay up later than I have been lately. For example, I get bored and lay down in my bed cus I have nothing to do but surf the internet. I tell myself that it's just gonna be a short nap, but then I fall asleep by 5pm on a Friday night, sleep till 230am, wake up, have a snack, then go back to bed, sleep another 5 hours, wake up at 730am feeling like total ****, drink coffee and smoke cigarettes until I start feeling somewhat normal about an hour later, and then I'm still not even ready to do anything meaningful with myself. I'm in a rut to say the least and something must change.

----

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. Sorry for the rant but I had to get that **** off my chest somewhere.

I crashed and burned in the weekly 5k krill freeroll last night. Started off with a weak connection. I disconnected with top two pair, AA, and a bunch of other hands that I didn't even see. By the time my connection was somewhat consistent, I was down under 15 big blinds. Soon I was shoving on the button with 55, and the small blind called with JTs. He hit the monster 9TQ flop that gave him a flushdraw to boot. I had just one out going to the turn and river. I missed. I was eliminated ~50th with 20 spots paying.

Then around 8:15pm I got 10 chips in rakeback just as I was getting the news that my best friend is in the hospital. They kept him overnight last night and they're gonna do a bunch of tests today. Hopefully it works out for the better.

I turned those 10 rakeback chips into 17 chips at the 5c/10c no limit holdem cash table quickly and then decided to play a tourney. Horse was the game, which is probably my second favorite variant behind limit holdem. I was late to register and there were two tables going with 14 players total. Within 20 minutes, I had the chiplead thanks to hitting big hands. One hand in particular was the first hand of stud immediately following the razz round, which confused my opponent. He put in a bunch of bets with what he thought was a good razz hand. I scooped with Queens up. By the time the bubble burst, I was comfortably in first place. It was four handed and I had more than half the chips in play. There was a little scare when it was three handed and I lost a big pot during the razz round with a made nine vs a made seven. The three of us were just about even in chips after that, but I soon won a monster pot which put me back atop the leaderboard. I coasted to victory after that thanks to some really good hands. I finished the tourney with a wheel in omaha 8. It payed about 60 chips. Then I went to bed.

This morning I had 67 chips in my account so I played a bit of 2c/4c no limit holdem cash. I tripled up within a matter of minutes. Then I registered for a 4max 5 chip no limit holdem sit n go. I won it, which paid just under 20 chips thanks to the winner take all format.

While I was waiting for the tourney to start, I gamestarted 5 big blind max 25c/50c no limit holdem. I was down a few buy ins at the beginning cus my opponents were making good hands. Then the cards started coming my way. I got lucky in one particular hand with AQo beating KK with an Ace on the flop. That recovered the lost buy ins and then some.

Currently sitting on 85 chips.

It's a tumultuous time in my life at the moment. I really wanna get away and maybe take a road trip to nowhere to clear my head. I think it'll be good for me as I haven't been on a real vacation in years. I know my problems will just follow me wherever I go, and that there are people in my life that rely on me for emotional and social support. However, I haven't been putting my best interests first lately and it's starting to catch up with me.

First I gotta do a bunch of laundry, get an oil change for my truck, get my spare tire replaced, and pay my car insurance. Then I should have a little chunk of cash leftover to play with. Depending on that, I may take off as soon as this afternoon. If not today or tomorrow, then soon.

Oh and I lost most of my swcpoker chips yesterday afternoon, but that's the least of my problems at the moment.

I played the 5k krill freeroll last night, which was in plo format this week. I did ok, but I failed to cash. I was eliminated in 22nd place out of 117 with 20 spots paying.

Then I got 4 chips of rakeback, but I had to pay back a 2 chip loan. Then I played a 1 chip tourney and finished in third place. I got all in with AKs vs 66, but I missed the board. That paid about 1.9 chips and then I went to bed.

This morning I played some 5c/10c no limit holdem cash. It was going ok. JJ>TT all in preflop got me up over 5 chips. Then this happened:

button raises 2x, small blind folds, I call in the big blind with A6s.

AK6 with a flushdraw.

I check, button checks.

7 puts up a double flushdraw.

I bet 1/2 pot, button raises 1/2 pot, I call.

Q completes the backdoor flush.

I check, he bets 2/3 pot, I call, he shows 77 for the scoop.

----

After that, I never made it above 3 chips again and was soon broke on swcpoker.

Good morning.

I played some heads up no limit holdem vs a friend the other day:

game 1: 65 cents each 65 big blinds. I won.

game 2: $1.25 each 65 big blinds. I won.

game 3: 50 cents each 65 big blinds. I lost.

game 4: 50 cents each 65 big blinds. I lost.

Total profit: 90 cents.

He has improved a lot since the start of this thread. I used to beat him much more often, but he's since tightened up his bluffing ranges and uses much better betsizing than he used to. However, he still likes to open 6x on the button as a default and he also likes to min 3 bet preflop out of position from the big blind almost 50% of the time, both of which I think inhibit his progress. He also loves to donk bet the flop when he has a piece, which makes his checking ranges particularly weak. I need to stop calling him down as light as I do because of this. In spots where he used to triple barrel bluff with nothing, he's now check folding. In spots where he used to value bet too thin, he's check calling. His main leak nowadays is that he doesn't bluff the bottom of his range on the river as he should, but this happens to be an ok adjustment against me particularly because I've been calling him down light for years. Once I stop calling down so light on the river, he'll have more incentive to bluff rivers. Of course, when he checks he is pretty much handing over the pot to me because his range is so capped. I'm ok with that, but I'm now looking for ways to exploit his flop aggression. Like I said, he donks the flop with just about any piece and doesn't mix frequencies. This should be exploitable, perhaps by overbet shoving vs his donk bets, but that requires that I flop decent hands and strong draws, which doesn't really happen very often.

----

On Sunday afternoon I played some chess and some poker, both just for fun, with my 14 year old godson. I won both games of chess. Poker was 13 big blind dealer's choice. He is a total beginner, but he handled the ups and downs better than many veteran players that I can think of. We played to the felt twice, and I won both games. It was fun. It will probably be a few years before his mother allows him to join in for real money, and I agree with that decision wholeheartedly.

I played a no limit holdem 65 big blind heads up match yesterday vs a friend. Something came up so we were debating chopping the six dollar pot, but the stacks were tipped about 3:1 in his favor, so an even chop was out of the question. We decided to play one more hand and then decide on the best course of action.

He limps on the button, I look down at A3s, I shove, he calls K4o.

I hit an Ace on the flop and it held up.

When the dust settled, I had a small 7 big blind chiplead. I offered an even chop for $3 each and he accepted. That was the first time in a long time that we chopped.

----

I finished third in a plo freeroll last night on swcpoker, which paid 0.75 chips. I had a monster chiplead at the start of three handed play, but then my AAxx got all in preflop vs something like 4567 double suited. He hit a straight on the flop for the scoop. Then my KKxx ran into AAxx and I was eliminated.

I took those chips to the 1c/2c no limit holdem cash table. I was pretty card dead at first and the blinds were wearing me down to about .5 chips. Then this happened:

button raises 3x, small blind calls, I call T7.

862

small blind checks, I check, button bets 0.08, small blind folds, I shove, button calls.

8o

2o

I show my ten high unimproved and the button shows AJo for the scoop.

Currently busto on swcpoker.

I made it into the money in the 5k krill freeroll last night, but then real life happened and I had to leave the house. It was a pretty frustrating situation because I had a healthy stack. I felt that I was playing well too, but someone needed my help. I ended up with the minimum cash of 11.25 chips.

Since I was in a bad mood, I shouldn't have played when I got home an hour later. I did play and I lost it all. Shrug.

Also, I chopped a bunch of wood on Saturday and I'm still very sore. It was good exercise though and I'm happy that I did it.

I played a heads up no limit holdem 65 big blind match vs a friend the other day for $2 each. It lasted about 15 minutes, but I ultimately won when I check raised all in on the flop with top and bottom pair. It held up and I scooped the $4 pot.

Then I put up $1 vs his 12oz of Budweiser, which is a good deal for me. We decided to just deal out holdem for the best two out of three with no chips or betting. The first card to hit the flop in the first hand was a Joker, so we agreed that Jokers were wild. He made four Kings on the first hand to beat my three of a kind. Then I took the second hand with four threes. On the third hand, I made a natural pair of Queens and he ended up with the absolute nut low, which I found particularly amusing. I scooped the buck and drank the beer.

Then we made the same bet about a half an hour later and again I won two out of three games. Free beer is tasty imo.

cheers

I haven't been playing on swcpoker over the past few days since I lost on Sunday night. I just don't have the motivation to grind the freerolls at the moment.

The exercise on Saturday was really good for my body and mind. I hope to get some work in on the court today if everything goes as planned. Gonna take it pretty easy cus it'll be my first day on the blacktop in over a year. I'm sure I'll at least put up a few threes, but I'm gonna refrain from doing the stuff that irritates my knees like practicing pull up jumpers or dribbling from end to end. I need to get in some squats before I do that stuff to strengthen my knees a bit.

I was bored last night so I played a couple freerolls on swcpoker. The first was a 5 chip no limit holdem tourney. I was eliminated pretty early when my 77 was outdrawn by ATo and KTo. Then I won a 5 chip no limit 2-7 single draw tourney, which paid 1.5 chips. I like to think that I'm ok at that game, but the truth is that I was just getting awesome hands.

So I registered late for a 1 chip no limit holdem tourney. It was 15 chips guaranteed and at the end of late registration, there were only 12 entrants, which made for an ok overlay. I couldn't get anything going and ended up shoving ATo vs a late position minraise. Apparently the small blind woke up with a big hand because he shoved 25 big blinds over my 8 big blinds and I knew I needed lots of help from the board. The original raiser folded and I was heads up against AQo. He won unimproved and I was eliminated well before the money.

Then I had just .5 chips to play with, so I shortstacked 1c/2c no limit holdem. Got all in with a King high flushdraw, but I missed and was broke within an hour after winning the freeroll.

----

I played a 65 big blind no limit holdem match vs a friend the other day for $5 each. He got bored about halfway through because I had a 4:1 chiplead. When he gets bored with the game, he starts shoving blind preflop. He shoved preflop probably seven or eight times and won every time uncontested. Then I finally picked up a hand. I called his all in with 77 and won unimproved.

Swcpoker ran a "Raise it and Blaze it" freeroll at exactly 4:20pm on Friday afternoon, which I thought was funny. I didn't have anything to blaze, but I joined anyways. The game was badeucy and they put 15 chips up for grabs in honor of a certain beloved player's birthday. I was chipleader for a while, and made it into the money without breaking a sweat. Then I was eliminated in sixth place. It was fun.

I went to my sister's house in Somerville, MA on Friday night to house sit for the weekend. She and her husband were due to leave yesterday morning, but the dog has been quite sick. She wouldn't eat anything, so they were too worried to care about making it to the wedding that they were invited to. The trip was canceled and I came home yesterday around noon.

I played a bit of poker yesterday evening, but couldn't string together any big wins. I went broke at the 5 big blind table when my 55 lost to AKo all in preflop.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday weekend.

The 5k krill freeroll is tonight at 5pm sharp.

I crashed and burned in the 5k krillroll on Sunday night. I got KK on the very first hand of the tourney, raised preflop, got called by the small blind, he check raised small on the all heart flop that gave me the second nut flushdraw to go with my pair, bet the turn and river small, and I called down unimproved to lose to T5s that flopped a flush. Then I was the shorty for a while and couldn't pick up a hand to shove. I was eliminated quite early. Shrug.

Then Sunday night, I got .16 chips of rakeback, which is only enough to get me into the .1 chip heads up sit n go. I got it up to .36 chips playing those, but was unable to pass the .4 chip mark that would get me into the real cashgames. I went to bed when I was back down to .16 chips.

Then on Monday I did the same thing, only this time I was able to string together three wins in a row, which gave me .46 chips to play with at the cash tables. I got it up to ~2.5 chips playing 1c/2c no limit holdem, but ended up getting priced in with a combo draw that missed.

I haven't played much online since then, however, I did play a $1 heads up 65 big blind no limit holdem match vs a friend yesterday. He didn't want to deal so he gave me 7 big blinds out of his stack if I would deal the whole time. I accepted and won the cut to give me the button first. Then this happened:

I raise 3x with A4o, he doubles it to 6x, I call.

T32

He bets 5x, I call.

To

He bets 10x, I call.

3o

He shoves, I cover and call, he shows K4, I show and scoop the buck.

There's a pretty big freeroll at the casino on Saturday night. It's a longshot, but since it's free to play I like my chances. I finished 27th out of ~130 in the 5k krillroll on Sunday night when my JJ was outdrawn by AQs for 12 big blinds all in preflop. I won a plo freeroll the other day, but quickly lost the 1.5 chips that it paid at the cash tables. Can't seem to string together any wins, but I'm keeping my head up. At times like these, I think of all the winning years that I've had playing this silly game and then this losing streak just seems like a drop in the bucket.

I thought I was gonna break out of the slump the other day. I won a 5 card draw freeroll, which paid 1.5 chips. I took that to the cash tables and quintupled it in a matter of ten minutes thanks to AKo and AA. Then I had ~7.5 chips to play with. I sat with all of it at 5c/10c no limit holdem at a heads up table. Then this happened:

I raise 3x with 99, big blind calls.

A94

He check calls my 1/2 pot bet.

Qo

He check calls my 1/2 pot bet.

Q

He donks pot, I shove, he calls. I show my full house and he shows 32. I scoop. He quit so I went looking for another game.

I had a bit over ten chips to play with at that point, and there was a no limit holdem tourney starting with a decent overlay. So I registered and away we went. There were many ups and downs in this particular tourney. The beats were crushing the hopes and dreams of almost every favorite. Then somehow I got into a three way all in preflop. I had 99, shorty had 88, and the other guy had AKo. I scooped a huge pot, which put me at the top of the leaderboard and propelled me past the bubble. I was unable to win the tourney, however. It was an ok payout and now I was sitting on over 25 chips.

So I sat at .50/1 limit holdem, which was already running two handed. In a matter of just a few hands, I scooped two big pots, one with a nut flush vs a Jack high flush, and another with AA unimproved. This got me up over 40 chips for the first time in about a month. Then I took a break.

It was all downhill after the break and I'm currently busto on swcpoker. However, I like my play as I got all in with a few pretty decent favorites that didn't work out in my favor. Shrug. I suppose that's how it goes when you put large chunks of your bankroll on the line often.

I'm sure to have a decent bit of rakeback coming on Sunday night, and as always the 5k krillroll is Sunday night, which is free to play. It should be fun.

Like I said, I "thought" I was gonna break out of the slump.

Now I'm of to Dunks with a lady friend and then I'm off to paradise for the weekend. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
