OP you're still around!

Would love to see some updates.

What are you playing online these days? Cash? MTTs?

Hey man all cash games, looking to get back into the live scene soon now that Casino Niagara opens tomorrow for the first time in over 2 years which is ridiculous to think about.

Online wise I currently have no idea what the poker landscape is going to look like after April 4th. I'm not happy about us essentially getting cut off from the poker world online. I will potentially update here once I know how I'm going to proceed online and create some goals moving forward. Just need to know what site I'm going to play/ what my volume is going to look like.

I do have a few basic live poker goals that I can share:

1) Have some fun at the WSOP for a few weeks this summer & play at least 3 tournaments for fun (don't all have to be WSOP bracelet events though).

- this past WSOP was pretty brutal. I was there for quite a while (used the majority of my vacation at work for the trip) playing cash and didn't find a balance at all. With not being able to play live poker for over a year leading into it I wanted to make up for it. But I should have gone about it differently and found some more relaxation / maybe even taken a day off. I played around 200 hours of cash in ~3 weeks and only profited just over 3kUSD so the hourly is horrible. Considering I was up around 3k the first night it's kind of depressing to think about haha. But that's the reality of the game its not all sunshine and roses, and I know that all to well with how long Ive been playing. I wasnt even really mad at my play for the most part and was just on the wrong side of variance but it happens and is to be expected, just the timing was unfortunate. Couldn't string winning sessions together and just felt extremely drained by the end of it. This needs to change next year. I need to find a better balance and not put so much pressure on my results.

2) Build my roll as big as I possibly can to take the biggest shots of my life the week F1 comes to Las Vegas in November 2023 (now confirmed). This is very far out but I like having something to strive towards.

I'm positive the cash games will be incredible in Vegas the week of the race so I know I need to be there & I need to get into some big games at the very least $10/$20, the dream being $25/$50. I also have never accepted backing of any sort for cash games and don't ever plan on it so I'll need to have a solid roll at this point to be comfortable.

But anyways how are you doing man? How's poker & more importantly life been going for you?

Solid blog, fellow Torontonian!

Why are you stressing out about Ontario being fenced tho? It's super +EV if you play cash imo. Our province was prolly the biggest sponsor for Stars ecosystem and now only we have access to this pool.

The only bad thing about it is that skill wise everyone here will stagnate but that's the price you pay for playing with a weaker opponent (which should be the main goal in this game anyway)
