+250 today, 1.1k hands of plo100. Feel like I played pretty well, but probably still stationing too many rivers.
Just tallied up the roll, we’re at 13.2k at the moment. Honestly it’s not that bad, better than I expected. Remember we paid 2k off the debt last week.
I might start doing this thing where if I have a winning week, I’ll shoot the RB over to pay off the debt. That’ll keep a steady flow going towards the debt, but not too much. And on my losing weeks, I’ll just add the RB to the account in order to augment the roll.
The debt is a combination of legal fees and also credit I extended out to other people. I’m probably just going to leave it at that. It’s funny, multiple people immediately question whether I’m a winning poker player with no basis other than the fact that I have debt, yet no one even once bothered to ask why some dude just happened to owe me 30k lol. The sad truth is, if I got paid back every dollar other people owed me, I wouldn’t even have debt right now. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my personal life and with other people, but Ive learned from them and I’m determined to do better. Perhaps I’ll get into it in the future here. My family is middle class immigrants and not rich, 300k is a sizable burden for them . They’ve had to rearrange their entire lives around this ****. Unfortunately, I am not a rich kid with an unbustable roll, or else I wouldn’t be here right now playing plo100 and posting.
I regret a little bit ever mentioning the debt. I could have just made this a “run it up with me thread” lol. But the debt is so integral to my life right now, as well as the events and mistakes that transpired to put me in this position are truly defining moments, that this PBG would be incomplete and wouldn’t be mine without it.
cowardly
you put the debt in the title in order to draw attention to yourself and then refuse to talk about it
-900, tough day again. This downswing is killing me. Been break even for a long ass time now. Ran some of the closer spots through a buddy and seems like they were mostly standard. It’s not looking like we will be sending the RB to pay off the debt this week .
Alright boys the upswing continues. +1100 today. Staying in the NL mix for now. Playing the equivalent of 1/2, and games are pretty good. Almost nearing the 20k mark. Gonna siphon off 2k from the roll and ship it over to my parents unless we start a big downswing again in the next week or so.
its been 2 weeks since this post promising to start making 2k payments to mom and dad and what do you know they haven't received a single penny yet, funny how these degens always start running bad right when they are due to start making payments. if Mamacita had a blog it would look almost exactly like this one.

Your quoted post was 10/13. The below would've made his payment on 10/17...
-100 today, damn this was an upstuck session. Was up 5-6 BI and dumped it all back plus more in the span of like 100 hands. Made a little comeback at the end to bring it back towards even tho.
Commenter previously mentioned leaving tables when deep. I think I might try it, unless the person I’m deep with is the whale. Not super confident in my deep stack play, and also dealing with mistake tilt is worse when I punt off 300-400 bb as opposed to 100.
Just to be clear, 2k has been paid off the debt. My new tallied roll accounts for that. At the moment, remaining debt to be paid is 268k. Plan was to send the RB from this week, but probably going to have to just put it into my account at this rate, unless I pop off tomorrow.

Broke even today. Damn was up like 7-8 BI at one point, but couldn’t bring home the W. Woke up early as **** to play pick up basketball with my friend and was tired all day. Ended up punting off a stack because I forgot the pre flop action in a multi-way pot. Decided to call it quits after that. Volume not too back though this week, should’ve been around 6.5k hands. Tomorrow is a new week!
Do you have a plan B? It seems like you've more or less documented about 3 months of breakeven poker with little or no progress. 30k paid down from another debt doesn't really count. Without knowing any bankroll updates, the other 2k seems likely to have just come from the 14k start.
$268k / 10bb/100 = 26,800 hundreds at 65 hundreds per week: 8 years straight
Maybe you've covered it, but what living expenses do you have and how is that funded?
Hope all is well on the grind and the $300K debt recovery! My advice - don’t feel the need to “get it all back” in short-time frame, playing solid with steady progress/selective shot-taking and small repayments at a time is the way to go! No rush, but you have a fan out there interested in updates - the storyline is very compelling
