It's also possible (and sorry much more probable) that he can't. If he was that good at poker he wouldn't of fallen this deep into debt.

I have no opinion about what is and isn't true in regard to OP but what you're saying makes no sense. If a brain surgeon went into debt from bad investments would that automatically mean he's bad at brain surgery?

Maybe OP is telling the truth or maybe he isn't, but regardless, it's obviously possible to be good at poker and to be in massive debt. Being good at one thing doesn't mean you can't make terrible decisions in some other domain.

Ya it seems like quite a large logical fallacy that people seem to run into in this thread. Poker isn’t the end all be all in terms of determining your bank account. It’s like they want strict causality between being broke and being bad at poker. That’s simply not the case.

I’m replying because it’s funny you used the brain surgeon analogy. One of my best friends is a brain surgeon. Was making millions per year, much richer than almost any poker player. Caught a healthcare fraud case and is now penniless. Lost everything. Yet, he’s still a technically solid brain surgeon, despite defrauding Medicare/Medicaid.

In another hand I folded KJJxxx on KJ4 flop in a multi-way 3bet pot facing a x/r super deep. Would’ve ended up turning quads for like a 1.8k pot. Dude didn’t even have KK, he had AQThh instead. That’s was my moment right there damn.

I’m rooting for him… but poker players in general have a 95% failure rate (maybe higher) so I’m just being realistic.

I still don’t know how he procured 300k to play and lose. It’s just a big piece of the puzzle. Maybe I missed it in some post.

I just know a lot of people who go into debt and then they start winning but the second they pay their debt they lost control again and lose it all.

Paying debt off is similar to losing money in poker. Say OP gets to 200k wants to pay 100 k or 50k… he’s gonna feel like he just lost that amount from bankroll.

This is the hard part of paying back debts. You need a plan and you need to stick to it. You also need to be in the top 5% of tilt control when half your roll is gone wo playing a single pot.

If this is even slightly true you should know there are services people provide to collect debt in unconventional ways for a fee.

-2000 today. Really tough session. Played 1/2. Lost AA vs AA AIPF 3 times. GII KK vs 33 on KJ3r, first board he rivers quads, second board he back doors a flush. Top boat into quads twice. Wasn’t really much I could do. Will tally the bankroll tomorrow after rakeback is paid.

Pretty frustrated. About even over the last 6 weeks. Every time I make some headway with the roll, I go on a massive downswing and takes me loads of hours to rebuild. Granted the volume hasn’t been superb, but definitely having a really bad run of cards.

Probably going to have to drop to PLO100 again for a bit.

+1200 today boys. Finally. Played all PLO100 today. Wish I could’ve ran like this at PLO200 but I’ll take it. Poker is definitely a lot more enjoyable when you’re winning lol. Caught a lot of punts today. Let’s see if we can keep it going tomorrow.

Updating for the last 3 days. Break even over this stretch. Rakeback should be paid tomorrow, will update the roll tomorrow. Let’s see how poor my volume was last week, hoping for a few hundred in RB at least.

Ok rakeback day is Wednesday! +400 to the roll. Volume a little short, but also played PLO100 only last week so makes sense that RB would be a little less.
