Former high stakes plo reg who’s now broke and up to my ears in debt. My list of life leaks is too long to list.

I’ve been on this comeback journey for 1.5 months now.

July was the solid start I needed. Took a 1k roll to the live 1/2 plo streets and ran pure on a short roll (thank god). Parlayed that to the online PokerBros and clubgg games and ended the month +13k.

August has been less great. Currently exactly even on the month at halfway through. Enjoyed a chilling 40 buy in downswing over 5 days during this stretch that I still haven’t completely dug out of yet. Let’s hope the second half of the month goes better!

This debt is officially to my parents, who assumed all my debt.

The good news is that there’s no interest and no real hard time line. So much less stressful than for someone who actually owed and had payments to meet.

The bad news is that since it’s my family, I feel even shittier about the situation.

Wednesday is RB day! +800 to the roll today from last week’s rake. I guess I’ll use Wednesdays to update the roll.

-$350 at the tables today. Fired up 1/2 today. Upstuck session, was up 600 and gave it all back plus more.

Not sure when to make the jump up to 1/2. I’m thinking 20k (100 BI) is probably the right amount. Probably smart to stick to PLO100 for now. What do you guys think? I perceive my edge to be quite high in these games. Obviously want to maximize win rate but can’t really stomach a 40 BI downswing at 1/2 right now.

No job, going to go at poker full time. Very minimal expenses, should be more or less negligible compared to the poker swings themselves.

Couldn’t resist firing up the 1/2 today. Games looked super juicy and nearing the 100BI anyways.

A week ago I was on a 40BI downswing (with probably half that volume at 1/2) and felt like nothing could go right. Lost 6 days straight with multiple days being >10BI losing sessions. One of those days, after losing like 8 flips in a row, I got so tilted I rage quit and actually loaded up 4 tables of 200NL lol. Did that for like 15 min and didn’t see a pot bigger than 30bb so I finally came to my senses and rebooted PLO. Definitely not the worst downswing by any means, and there will certainly be many more like it, but just felt bottomless and never ending going through it. Yet, less than a week later I’m out of it. Just gotta keep the perspective that it’s a marathon not a sprint.
