Hey everyone!

This is actually my first post here on this forum and I figured what better way to get involved in the online poker community than get involved with one of the largest forums in the world.

I've been playing poker since I was 14 but started playing online for money on Full Tilt (RIP) when I was 17. I have always played poker on and off and have never really taken it too serious.

I was contemplating whether I should give you the long, detailed description of the many bankrolls I have busted... But I figured you have heard many of those stories while playing poker.

My recent bankroll when I was playing last month was up to $1,300 from $25 but I was definitely practicing improper bankroll management and I ran really well for the month (obviously I didn't realize this until I had $0.62 left in my poker roll). Eventually variance kicked my butt and I was back to nothing once again. I did manage to withdraw $600 before I busted the entire thing, which was pretty sweet!

So now I have new goals and aspirations and I really would like to take poker a little more serious. I know here in the United States many would say it is not even worth to try playing online but I do and it hasn't been all that bad.

Okay that was a lot of reading so now we will take a look at my long-term goal and what I would like to achieve.

LONG TERM GOAL:
To build my bankroll to $5,000 and play $200NL regularly. And obviously continue to improve and become a better poker player.

I plan on achieving this goal by starting off with a bankroll of $35 and working my way up the stakes.

I know it seems like a stretch but I wanted to find out if I am a winning player even at the lower stakes.

So I will start at 2NL and play 50k hands at this stake and at every other level above until I reach $200NL. And here is my short term goal...

SHORT TERM GOAL:
To play 50k hands at 2NL and have a win rate of at least 10BB/100 (the only reason I'm reaching this high is because I've heard that microstakes its a little easier to see win rates even higher than this) and build my bankroll to $125. If I surpass the 50k hands and still don't have the bankroll, I will continue to play 2NL until I reach the $125.

I plan on multi tabling usually at least 6 tables (I've tried 8 but my concentration cannot seem to work with that many tables quite yet) at 2NL and want to play at least 20 hours a week. I work full time and have school part time but I love poker and I'm really excited to start this challenge so I'm sure I can push through.

As far as my playing style, I will take a very tight approach (playing almost as a nit, I suppose) and see if I can grind out some profits. I will play mostly at night for about 4 to 5 hours each session.

I think that is all for now. Thank you very much who have stuck it out to the end of this post, I know it is a lot but I'm hoping that if I see some success with this challenge, that others can take something out from my experience.

As always, I am open to all tips and advice you may have. If you think I should play with a different style, just let me know and give the reasons why please. If you have any ideas as far as the approach I'm taking for the bankroll challenge (playing 50k hands and win rate) I am more than open to any suggestions.

Thanks again everyone and I will post my first session today
