Build a online roll starting with NL-50 Build a online roll starting with NL-50

I have been playing poker for a year and a half now, just for fun, but since January i have started to play more seriously. Winning live 1-2 and 2-5 for 5 months now (keep track with a poker tracker app, works good for keeping track of live results). Never really gotten into online, just the odd tournament. But i want to build a roll online now.

I am going to start by playing NL 50 on pokerstars and i hope to be able to move up to NL 100 by the end of august. Im going to start on Monday the 16th July and should be able to play 3-5 hours a day in the weekdays. Im thinking of starting with a Bankroll any where from $500 -$1000.

Any advice on the switch from live to online?

its a lot harder. I would suggest starting lower if you have no experience at online cash as its nothing like live, and its no fun draining a bankroll and wasting all that time when you can be learning it at say 10nl or 25nl with less risk first right?

yes start lower online, especially NL50 on stars is pretty hard. I would start NL25 and use pocker tracker 3 for stats.

Okay thanks. I was looking at poker office and poker tracker to use for the stats. I like the look of poker office more, but is one better than the other or are they both similar?

I use pokertracker and I am very satisfied, but poker office or even holdem manager is good too! Use the 60 days trial for free and then decide !

It depends on what game you are planning to play and whether or not you are able to redeposit.

If you can redeposit $1000 is plenty enough to play 50NL if you are willing to move down if you drop a few buyins. And since you are panning to move up to 100NL quickly a 20bi rule is fine.

If you aren't willing to move down in stakes and can't redeposit then 25NL should probably be your starting point.

EDIT: I have a Mac, so I use Poker Tracker and its a great tool. Give both PT3 and HEM a try they will help you tremendously and are a great way to keep track of results. Way better than any of those Live tracking apps on phones. (Although I use one as well for live results.)

Yeah for sure, well i do still work full time, so i can redeposit pretty quickly. Although obviously it will be better if i dont have to.

Im thinking of starting at NL25 and move up to NL50 pretty quick and take a 2bi shot at it, see what happens can move back down easy enough.

Yeah i just got the trial for PT3 so i will see how it is, thanks for your advice.

Finding it hard to deposit online right now so might take a couple of days. Pokerstars arent very good for depositing money.
Played a live session of 1-2nl today though. No real notable hands.. I was running a bluff on one hand but couldnt seem to fire a 3rd barrel which i was 80% sure would of taken it down. I think its because i had some showdown value so didnt fire again, but i really feel like i should of and regret not doing it now. But other than that i just took some pots down with cbets. I opened a pot to 10 with A Ko and got shoved on for $50 total. Called and won the flip, he had 66.
Bought in for $200 and cashed out $327
profit : $127
