I managed to fix some leaks and catch a break from the downswing. Let the upswing begin!
I`m still working on my game and mindset.
In 2 weeks they will introduce the new program in Romania and the rakeback will drop from 65%(now in my case) to 40%. I`m glad this change is coming, I`ll "pay" a fee for more flexibility.

I used to play 3000-4000 tournaments per year with and ABI of 35$ and i managed to profit 127$ after 180.000$ prizes at the end of the year.I used to be NO1`in the world on 33 Bounty builder turbo on demand,but somehow they killed that too and stopped playing that.I gave up on most of the tournaments,playing about 300 tournaments per year and keep it as a hobby,while making some profit.I switched to ggpoker in the last year,but the games are so much tougher now and the sh.it i saw there cannot compare with the ones i had on stars on the last 12 years
BTW,just to be clear i aint a newbie,i have around 1M $ in tournament prizes(on stars+fulltilt),about 180.000 profit on cash games(PLO and dont play those either) and around 40.000 games on spin and go(maybe i am breakeven),but once again I WOULDNT not give up my job over poker
Second,kids tend to will copy their parents behaviour and will think that it's a good example and they will evolve into compulsive gamblers.drinkers etc.It's proven that.My older son saw me playing almost daily and started to play minecraft and it's an addict now.So make sure you enjoy your life,it's never late to reconvert into somehow you need to be and should be.If you made money and lose it all,it was a lesson you never learn.
And one more advice for you..you can try to take some IT lessons,where the paychecks are higher than the average salaries in Romania and way less taxes overall

To be honest, I had the IT job on the back of my mind, because it`s one of the few decent paying jobs in Romania. But that means I have to invest a lot of time to learn that, start from an entry level and earn as I earn now or lower for a few years. Maybe it`s easier to learn MTTs or spins.
Just to feel more safe I will learn some IT on the side and see if I will used it or not in the future. It will definetly help me be more relaxed and positive about the future. BTW they started to grow taxes on the IT jobs.I don`t find it impossible to win from online poker, especialy since I`m doing this for years and I also know a lot of players that live from online poker.
My son has rarely seen me playing poker. I ussualy play when he is with his mother/kindergarten. You kinda have to be 100% present when taking care of a kid, not opening tables and stuff.
Also kids understand behaviors sometimes better than we do, so I`m not affraid of him seeing me play poker. I just need to help him understand that is safe to have a different job than the norm if it pays the bills and gives you more free time.
On this thread I was focusing more on the negative sides of poker, but I never mentioned the positive sides:
-I have a more flexible program.
-More free time than a normal 8-9 hour job (maybe some commute involved). It`s true that downswing are brutal, but sometimes having a toxic boss/team can be more brutal.
-Decent+ salary for Romania with the option of getting bigger if I commit to MTT/Cash/Spins( a game that has more future than SNGs)

Very rough runs in there, I agree probably you are focussing too much on the things you can't control (on the other hand, in the financial situation you mentioned I think it also is kinda natural).
I think the negative comments from the couple trolls should just be ignored, at the end of the day you are the one who has to figure out your situation, and how you do it in the process is up to you.
Just as an idea - maybe working part-time would be an option for you? If that is common/possible in romania - it would give you a save net each month to not have to worry about most financial stuff, while still having time to keep pursuing poker. At least that's what I'd at least consider.
Any plans yet for when the rake changes come into effect on Stars? Probably 18mans will become more popular again with Regs moving there, on the other hand these games will get tougher. I only found out about this rake increase just now and it looks pretty brutal.

Yeah, trolls suck, but sometimes they can help you.
The part-time job is definetly better than a full-time job. I ll keep that in mind if I can t manage in the future.
18 man, 11/33 pko maybe they will grow a little.
The plan is to play mttsng on stars, with some 25-50$ sng if they open, plus some small mtts. And offcourse combining other platforms.
I will start learning a new format because it s clear they want to kill sngs for good. Maybe it s all for the best on the long run, because winnings at sngs were kinda caped compared to other formats.
