its been a while since my last meh run in cash games so nothing special. running above EV helps but ev is so low cuz of tons and tons of toprange which is a type of variance ppl like to just overlook. think a bunch of my bluffs were just fine but they had it more than they didnt

finally managed to get 97%ish of my hands this year into pt3. all that s left is 13-15k hands today get those imported and load the graph (takes AGES)

first session done. was mixing nl50 with nl25 fr and went very well. gonna grind nl50 only the rest of the day so i m guessing between 7k and 9k hands left to play today

800 VPPs left. break then gonna try and get them all in one session. last session was kinda meh. redline is plummeting for a bunch of reasos but one big one seems to be that ppl are a tad better postflop putting me in more gay spots. gonna nit it up a little and grind dem 24 tbls till nova then next sessions will all be hardcore tbl selection and fewer tables till i feel good at the limit.

i ve been going through all the graphs to determine the final numbers numbers for this year. gonna see whether i will put in volume tomorrow (actually really enjoyed playing nl50 today despite the meh start) or whether to start a bunch of the texts i wanted to write up. proby will be a mix of both. pretty interesting to actually see the overall results considering i started january with $200 and $500 in debt




pretty stoked about my first big accomplishment in poker. back in january i wouldnt have thought i could end up making nova tbh got some big goal ideas for the next year too!


I think the things i will write will be these:

1) my yearly recap with all the $ figures, hours, rakeback, winrates and rough guesstimates for other poker related income

2) my Poo-Bah post. i feel like i owe basically everything i am currently proud of to this section of 2+2. since i joined 2+2 late last year i have improved insane amounts as a player both technically and mentally and probably more importantly got to explore Malta (which i likely will be calling home again in march/april) and even more importantly met tons of cool people that i have played/talked/learned/lived and partied with. I want to make a post reflecting on all of these experiences and hopefully it can help some people learn and avoid mistakes that i have made up to date. not exactly sure how i will structure it and it will likely take me till the first week of january but i ll try and hurry

3) TR's from my holidays on malta. most were not exactly spectacular but i have nice pics and would like to share

4) if ppl are interested a couple sweet recipes i have cooked

i wil probly make them in that order as well. i am thinking of making a new thread for 2013 so what do ppl think? think i will actually post all apart from the summary in the new one. should make for a pretty decent intro.

many many thanks to all the readers of this thread. since january its been the discussions and wellwishes ITT that have helped me stay motivated. granted, i did slack a lot this year and will try to change that throughout 2013 but i am proud of this year nonetheless and it probly wouldnt have turned out this way without this thread.

*********2012 Summary*********

It's been a helluva year for me. Pokerwise its not a bomb and looking back, a few decisions i made likely have cost me big chunks in equity but lifewise it certainly has been a milestone. I told myself going into this year that this would have to be a big year or i would likely quit poker. Despite not being a breakout year i did manage to make a living in poker and i moved up from my initial $200 deposit and nl5 6max to (sorta) nl50 as well as get an awesome backing deal.

Not to mention my almost 4 months in Malta. I instantly fell in love with the place, the climate (until winter haha) and the food they had and we cooked and had a great time, met a lot of cool people and learned a lot about poker but also about life in general as this was the first time I was actually working and providing for myself.





Unfortunately things with Boobie didnt exactly go as planned and we had to part ways for reasons I would rather not disclose in this thread. As I said it was a great experience and I wish him the very best for his future!

Midway through my stay in Malta I decided to learn and get coached for hadsup hypers and played those for almost two years but i ran ridiculously bad in those (and the few MTTs i played there as well) which - haha as per usual - made me realize that in my heart I am a cash game player. Cash was what i learned when i decided to play poker seriously and cash is p to date the format in which i have both played the biggest volume but also been by far the most successful. gladly the new skills in hypers were actually of great value as my postflop play improved tremendously since i moved back to cash. I will post all the graphs and numbers later

Overall I think i shot myself in the foot numerous times this year. Mainly by not being more aggressive with my bankroll. I know people repeatedly told me to take shots more aggressively but i let the lolnit in me controll my decisions and ended up playig nl25 with $4k in my roll for a while back in April or May. had i taken a shot or gone backed back then who knows where I could have ended up by now but as is I went on an extended breakeven stretch during which i didnt play too much (lost some at PLO won some in 6max zoom) until summer which is when I started coaching. I am glad to see the few students I have talked with so far make big improvements quickly and I look very much forward to helping more and more players going forward! Turns out disecting other player's games and trying to plug leaks has been very enjoyable and has helped myself get better too by recognizing more goot spots to win pots/extract more in game.

So as of now I consider myself a nl50 reg and will keep playing nl50 fullring on stars, likely tableselecting more than I did yesterday (took the first 24 tables i could sit on) and playing 16-18 tables on average. hopefully i can settle at and beat nl50 the way i beat nl25 during the course of this month! Cant wait to take shots at nl100 as soon as possible!

Anyways here are my final numbers: (I will consider any volume i play before new year's as next year to make things easier)

total poker related profit: about $12100

total rakeback: $4670 (including satties)

STT+MTT: -$1200 (including shares i sold)

total profit in cash: $7400

coaching earnings: $450

other poker income: $900 (other sites etc)

so i guess [x] $200 ----> $12k in 12 months?
