I'm really impressed with how you've taken that beat. Great attitude. I know I'd have been bitter and pissed about that for at least a couple of weeks. Definitely the right approach to realize that you cannot control anything but your decisions and be happy if you've made the best ones you can.

Congrats man! Glad the score came to such a nice guy! Well deserved.

Cliffs on the beat? For those of us that weren't railing

All in pre with Ak against A8s. Villain spikes 8 on river. About a 10 million chip pot that would have put him in great position to make a massive score of 100k+.

not to mention he had the Ad and flop comes down all diamonds, so 2 outer otr

Wow gross. Really gross.

Tbh your mentality and composure reminds me of Greg Merson during the ME when 3 handed against Sylvia KK v AK and took that beat OTR. Merson took it like a champ. So great compliment right there ^

yea sucks to lose the biggest equity pot of my life as a 92% favourite on the flop but as i said, i cant influence that. all that i coud influence was whether i wanted to open jam 15bb or raisecall to induce a few lighter shoves

thanks for the compliments guys but really thats not much that i did. i just happen to be a more distanced guy from all things like this, positive or negative

Out of interest is his shove bad or not? I think it's close but bad, but only because of the steep payjumps.
Literally know nothing about MTTS tho so interested to know, think in that exact situation i'd be very tempted to call as him, which might be super spewy.

i believe he had almost the same stack as meof about 15bb so despite being covered he can put me under severe pressure with even some stronger parts of my range.... is what i thought he would think if i minraise alhough a good player would realize that i d probly just jam the hands there that arent happily raisecalling and fold the rest to preserve my stack given a number of shortstacks at the table.

thus, i think his shove is likely to be not alll that great. however if we remove the final table aspect its perfectly fine cuz i will be raisefolding a lot there otherwise.

a flatcall with those stacks seems awful.

What's a std/icm acceptable (jj+?) callin range in this spot for villain when u shove, and what is a std reshove range in this spot for villain (AJs) when u minraise?

I would probably be chicken and only minraise pocket pairs QQ+

As I haven't reviewed it yes and never was to an ft with such unique icm numbers I can't rly tell and am too lazy to check it now. I think rejam would be 66+ ATs and sort of the same goes for call a jam. Although calling a jam chipEV wise is profitable with MANY more holdings. Icm is a btch

Yeah I really have no idea on the nuances of ICM which is probably where I'm going wrong, I was just assuming that getting 10000 to 1 in position with a very playable hand that at worst has 38%ish equity vs your range means a call can't be so bad. I mean technically if he folds this surely you can minr atc?

folding cant really be -chipev but could be bad when considering icm

can somebody post the hand?
blakkman08 - Grind up the Stakes in 2013 Quote

Ind rather not have it ITT if thats cool. I might post it it some later point myself (probly will when I ve gone over the HH with my buddy chAAnt) but ATM I d rather just not bother.

What you guys probly miss is the fact that In cash u can reload ur stack if u don't win the hand. 7handed with two guys around 10-12bb he can't risk becoming the short stack by flatting and potentially calling a cbet and then folding. It's much preferable for him to fk up my own life icm wise by jamming than making a high variance marginally +chipEV flat.

It's very common that the right final table play is ridiculously nitty and i think this is one of them spots where stack preservation is probly a lot more important for him than having a marginal +EV spot that includes the risk of busting or messing up his stack position.

I m really tired so I m not guaranteeing the correctness of the above haha

Haha yea been a very decent run I must say although ifu take this mtt in isolation and look at the hands I was dealt throughout you will find it hard not to go deep in it dat mtt variance
