GG BLAKK, seems you're crushing hard

So another question, what do you think could be a comfortable real life bankroll to live in malta doing a pretty standard life like yours?

sup sir. bah hard to come up with numbers since they are absolutely up to you. i came here with my bankroll and a pretty massive emergency fund that i have been fortunate enough to never have to touch. i d go with 4 months of rent and food in the bank at the minimum. i m living on roughly 600euros a month so thats a suggestion.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

ran absolutely aidsilicious today until the very last mtt (bigger $11) that i once again ended up singletabling for about 6 hours and just barely missed the payjump busting in 37th place making most of todays losses back cashing for $285(total buyins today were $442 on the package i sold and another $50ish in other donkaments) so not ALL that horrid all things considered bt man i am so happy to be grinding cash for a living. MTTs are ******ed. HATE EM!

Spoiler:
so until next week then

gonna take a day off tomorow and meet up with a fellow grinder and have a few beers thn back at it on tuesday. gonna try and go for bigger volume in cash this week!

haha hopefully we ll see more of him soon!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

had a few beers with my buddy Dan in a nice irish pub down at balluta bay. fun times. didnt play at all today and will likely take another day off tomorrow coaching a few of my students and doing a bit of strat.

I have recently found that i have slippped into a pretty meh routine. I ve been doing 10-12 hr days ever since i got to malta. however only 2-3 of those hours have been cash game play and 6+ have been reviews/strat. i feel i have improved tons during that time however it s been rly hard for me to keep playing longer sessions as i ve been rly nitpicky about my game. every mistake has caused me to quit and do extensive analysis. i ll have to tone that down this week and actually get some volume. i feel i have done enough to be able to crank out a nice winrate at 100nlz that volume becomes my number one goal now. that doesnt mean i ll cut out strat entirely as i understand that he who stops learning gets left behind however he who doesnt practice his skills will only be good in theory. balance between the two is key and i ll try to find that sweet spot over the next weeks. i would be very happy to put in 4 90 min sessions daily and 2-3 60min review sessions on wed thurs fri and sat, play MTTs on sunday and relax on mon and tues doing a little strat and do some painting/exploring of mata if the weather is good on those days as action tends to be sht anyways.

/ramble. carry on ppl

I see you've improved a ton lately so I wanted to ask this. Do you still ever get any sessions when you feel like the deck is dishing out so much bs that even your skill edge can't guarantee a booked win?

Are you asking OP about variance? or if pokerstars is rigged?

Nah, i just want to see if it's possible for someone to outplay the variance. Kinda getting raped by the deck atm, was crushing before. Feelsbadman.

seems to me you have some form of entitlement feelings that are just gonna do u harm. get rid of those and try to learn from every session you play no matter the result.

Spoiler:
stars IS rigged tho

you cant control the outcome of any given hand or session. make sure a bad run doesnt result in you playing badly as thats the only thing you have control over

on the subject of variance ...

sometimes you can play 100k hands and nothing goes your way, so the answer to your question, "NeA", is yes. you can play a ton of poker and lose, even if you are doing everything perfectly.

The average poker player has ~40% losing sessions over their lifetime. so you can only expect to win slightly more than 50% ott on average.

No, he only played one hand vs you and he flopped middle set and check raised your 1/2pot cbet. Then proceeded to take a note that you were a donk. LOL! jk jk! Keep up the grind dude!

agree with this. atho i would correct that the average poker player probly has 60% losing sessions. the avg regular poker player may have your numbers tho.

since most of the things i had cooked recently have been more of the 'exotic' nature with many ingredients coors and flavors i thought i d balance that with sth rly simple from the cook book of my grandma who has cooked stunningly simply yet amazingly delicious meals for as long as i remember.

all thats needed for this thing are:

rabit meat (fwiw this can be ANY other meat be it pork, beef chicken, chicken hearts, chicken stomachs, pork tongues (i have tried them all and yes they all are indeed delicious despite sounding funny and all make a distinctly different flavour)
2 onions & a couple garlic cloves
oil
water
salt & pepper
rice

cut the onions and garlic cloves into cubes and chuck them into hot oil in a deep frying pan/wok/pot and fry until they become brownish

then add the meat...

and fry that with those golden onions until a bit of a brownish crush starts developing. keep stiring the meat around as this process is not supposed to fry the meat fully. its pretty uch only for flavour purposes

then add water so that most of the meat is covered by it and reduce the heat so that the whole thing only simmers (word?). season with salt pepper and if you want red paprika powder and coriander. of all of these only salt and pepper are improtant.

this is pretty much it altho i decided to chuck a few shroomies in there for shts and giggles:

let this cook until the meat is nice and soft and cook rice while thats happening to save time. 30-45 minutes in total are required and close to no cooing experience is needed but man its always been one of my favourite recipes!

will try. i made pork chops with that same recipe and surprisingly that came out tastier than rabit. wouldnt have guessed that ever! will make curry tomorrow i think and tons of it so that i can just chill and grind tomorrow and sunday.

------------------------------------------------

didnt follow through with my plan of putting in a bunch of volume this week. i played one longish day on wednesday but played/ran fairly meh and decided to tak it easy on thursday and went out with shipit2kg in the evening instead. he had just arrived on this island a couple hours prior and obv decided to drink up first thing with his roommates zaza and flippity obv my roomie and i had to join for what ended up being a fairly chaotic night in paceville. doubt any of us remember much but was cool to meet the guys
Spoiler:
esp cuz i m a huge zaza fanboy (dance)

so obv was pretty hungover all of today and decided again not to play cash but dd end up playing a bunch of donkaments and final tabled a $4.40+R 4max full of fishies but went carddead to bust in 4th (rain). that came only a few hrs after i busted 9th in that exact same tournament. both had $850ish up top

still saved the day and i made a few bucks. cant complain given i was pretty messed up when i started the grind. so in preparation for a massive MTT sunday i ll probly play donkaments all of tomorrow as well and then do a bunch of studying to get back into cash in the coming week. a while ago i promised myself to never force myself to play when i dont feel like i can bring my Agame to the tables and that has been my impression recently. not sweating it given the month has been pretty good to me so far but I do realize I need to put in tons of work into my cash game to be able to establish myself as a solid winner at 100nl. lots of work to do!

as for my plans for sunday, my backer has given me green light to play almost anything that is micro to small stakes MTT ($5 rebuys and $33 FOs) so that about covers most of what i ll be looking to play over the next few days. if tomorrow goes well i think he wont mind if i add in the bigger $55 and i ll probly just skip the milly unless i bink sth significant tomorrow. dont feel like selling shares for mainly smallish stuff this time around. hopefully thatll work out for me as all the donkaments tomorrow (which is the smaller of the two days) amount to a total of $350ish in buyins

haha sup sir! i dont think we ve played many hands of significance vs each other have we? I do tend to spazz here and there tho so maybe i m running like 20% 3b on your hud

already have a bunch of peeps i m talking strat with so sry but have to decline (for now!)

----------------------------------------------------------

played a bunch of donkaments today and fel like i played really well but i ran like aids so dropped $150 or so no biggie. I m really enjoying that MTT grind for a change so maybe i ll do MTTs only for this week, not sure yet. Ideally i d come up with a schedule which includes both cash and MTT grindaments. Playing only one format nonstop can get kinda draining and i m known to jump around a bit so its not like big news or anything. maybe i ll do MTTs on sunday/tuesday/wednesday and then cash on the other days or sth.

big sunday tomorrow but this time without the milly
