I'd call the AQ hand on the turn, kind of close but probably fine. Also don't think you should be 3betting AQ vs most MP's or even CO's at 25nl. I wouldn't even 3bet QQ or AK vs MP or UTG against a lot of 100nl people.

gonna call it a day and do some review. felt like i played alright today but my ev disagrees. happy i booked a win etc and did push myself to play 5 hrs despite running into a bunch of coolers. *might* play another session in a few hrs. not sure

really disagree with nitting it up at ZOOM, if you have an edge over the average opponents at the stake, then you should surely be trying to play more pots vs them?

So much profit in the ZOOM games comes from stealing and restealing in 6max, that nitting it up is the worst thing you can do, open wide, and resteal wide, but just dont get attached to hands postflop, and play smart postflop is a lot better than nitting up, hardly any nits are classed as "crushing" the games

I think playing a looser style is a lot more profitable than nitting up (providing you are pretty decent postflop obv), but i do stick to the fact that in general i think you need a better hand at showdown to win the pot than you do at a 6max standard, people just dont give up as easy at standard as they do at ZOOM, due to table dynamics and stuff, doesnt happen as much at zoom.

Also not as many 3bets in the MP and CO positions in zoom as they auto fold alot of QJo etc and likewise vs EP opens, in 6max standard these hands can easily be 3betted, just doesnt happen as much at zoom

Obv my winrate at ZOOM wil be better than 24tabling FR, but my $/hr is a lot higher than ZOOM, and also being SN my Vpps are quite a bit better too, so for purely making the cash i think 24tabling is better.

For improving your game, i dont think anything comes close to 4-6 tabling standard 6max games and really trying to figure out your opponents

you kinda contradict your self. if you want to have better hands at showdown more often without having to checkfold all the time then obviously nitting u is the way to go.

i didnt say you should nit up per say but if your primary objective is to have better hands in ur range u should start with better hands in the first place.

however imo its pretty easy to adjust to zoom players without *running into top ranges* etc just by making a bunch of disciplined folds but still playing loosely

wrt $$$/volume obv gotta do waht you feel is best for the immediate and longterm future so gl with watever u choose

Playing 50nl 6max 9tbls.

Thx Bertie, same to you!

I regret not having taken more risks last year for sure. But I m still happy to be where I am right now wrt my poker game and am confident I will make better decisions this year. I think last year was a necessary experience

I'm seriously deluded about my poker skills, however I don't think you realise just how bad people are at higher stakes until you get in and mix it up.

Obviously though, you actually have life expenses so I can see why you've chose to take it easy.

Lol at nfl electricity management...
How can it happen that in the most watched sporting event on the world the organizers don't have backup electricity generators? Pretty embarrassing

I'm really trying to grind my way up from the micros, and this thread is a massive inspiration to a player like myself. I was just wondering if you know of any good training videos to watch for free. Thanks!

I think that raketherake.com has a deal where you can get a free DTB membership with $100 of rake in a month.
