When I make no money, I personally like grinding for 8 hours before busting. It's the best.

Running bad deep in MTT's is brutal. And anything short of first place always feels like a loss
when it's due to runbad (also, when it's due to anything else)

'aids' in my last post was referring to a sunday full of said virus. think i bubbled the hot44, the $109 big ben two entries of the $22 double deuce and the 50euro deepstack summer warmup all after having had massive stacks early on, mincashed the hot55 the 100e deepstack summer special and meh cashed the hot 109 again having had massive stacks everywhere, mincashed a $44 turbo and generally bricked a shtload yesterday for another 4fig losing sunday. zzzz

Let me put it to you very bluntly, YF;

Imagine grinding whatever game you play for ~5-8 hours and then ending your session there and earning for eg. 20bi's. However if it lasted 1-2 hours more you could of won 500bi's.

This is a completely random example but you can see my point by now i would hope. The difference in coming 9th or 10th or whatever and then actually winning (or top 3) for an MTT player is HUGE. Especially on Sundays. So when it happens to someone and they post about it, i wouldn't recommend posting something that can come across as condescending/insensitive.

played pretty much the best poker i have played since probably scoop if not longer today. but obv aids gonna aids so here are the results today:

$55 Multi fiddy: was chipleader on the bubble then proceeded to lose a massive flip AK<88 for probly 90bbs, then lost 88<AQ and AQ<A5 to bust in 31st or so (4.3k ftw)

$11 1R1A my first final table bubble of the day, got soulfkd by decent reg to come 14th ($2.1k ftw)

$5.50 2R1A: had the sickest spot of the day when a reg misstyped his bet and 8xoverbet the pot and saidd 'fml misclick' on QT2r and i had JJ. I put him in he snapped AJo and turned me dead. was for massive stack close to bubble

11euro +R storm: got 32nd 2.7keuro ftw

$16.50 360cap: got6th ($1.1k ftw, 99<A9)

$27KO: got24th ($1k ftw)

$1+R 2x turbo: got 25th ($1.1k ftw)

$55 6max 300 cap: second final table of the day. played really well throughout but obv ran hot in spots. got 3handed vs two weaker players and obv A9<A7 AIPF 972r 7.... 3rd for $500ish ($1k ftw)

Only joking, thanks for the response, that makes sense. I guess we just view it in different ways, if I were to play an MTT and finish 10th I'd be super happy with how well I had ran/played to actually make it so far and not really disappointed about missing out on 1st.

this will never happen to a poker player! you're playin the game to be the best/make the most money! when u got 10th ur just sick to yourself about the opportunity that bricked right infront of you! and if u never experienced it, dont try to think about it in your mind and think its cool to get 10th! IT WILL NEVER BE COOL, ask the guy in the WSOP ME how it feels to get 10th for 700k or smth when there are over 8 million for first!

if you're not feelin that way, you cant be serious here!

For everyone hating on YouFaiil I think hes got a lot of valid points, just because you cant see it from his point of view doesnt mean he is wrong.
Yes coming first is great and what you want, but that doesnt mean you have to be mad or sad when you dont and come 6th, 12th or whatever, try and draw positives otherwise youre always gonna have negative mindset as you get 1st so little % of the time, and is it worth being down all the time in mood?

Taking your example, you get 10th for 700k, in a moment yes youre dissapointed, then you quickly think, wait a second if 1st was 700k in a different tournament how happy would I be now? And get to a similar level of happiness.
Or if you come 8th in milly for $10k or w/e it is, think about how happy youd be if you won $10k for 1st in a 109 turbo.
Perspective.

i agree with this for sure! its perspective the day after it! but when your playin or just right after your session you feel sick when you got deep and didnt win it.

next day im always happy to see my results and a score >1k or >2k when compared to other dayjobs. but even if u got HU in a tourney and couldnt be the fish ur just mad that u didnt win it, doubt someone feels happy to get 2nd to a fish

basically thats the whole reason i m not the biggest fan of updating daily, is that u usually update right after my session is done and thats when the aids feeling is the biggest.

looking back at scoop when i got 6th and 5th or whatever i dont really feel tilted or whatnot since i cashed for absurd sums of money and played my best poker and since then have been able to stake people rather than playing staked myself etc so it certainly has been a life changer. thing is however that the vast majority of MTTs i play on a regular basis pays about $90-$150 for 6th which put in relation with my daily buyins (roughly $1000-$1200) literally is peanuts as funny as it sounds. so i cant exactly help but think fml when top 3 places would be daysavers. very confident if i cashed the milly in 8th or sth i d think differently, not sure if that makes sense.

thing is despite being like fml a lot lately or sounding like it i really rediscovered my love for the game. think i have played 8-13 hour sessions every day since wednesday and love it so dont mistake 'fml' for tilt cuz i rly havet had any of that lately
