very happy with today obviously. I decided given that i was gonna grind a long session to switch out the 2.50 180 turbos with 4.50 180 regspeeds and it paid off. i seem to like the slightly deeper slower structures more as i can gian a much bigger edge on villains. i m cashing these things at like 30% or sth ridiculous

also decided to remove the 15 180s and add some regspeed MTTs as well so today was a low speed day overall but i think that i ll stick with that as i made numerous deep runs in big MTTs. the thing i binked i also managed to final table a few hours prior to that but unfortunately ended up bustinf 5th in that one:

gonna try and play all the smallfield regspeed MTTs as well as a bunch of 4.50/8 180s tomorrow

****May 2nd****

hours: 8:12
tourneys: 121
ABI: $6.78
profit: $1257 (according to HM2, think its more but not sure )

****Month to date****

hours: 17:12
tourneys: 266
profit: $1166

i m gonna be using HM2 for all of the numbers but graphs will be from sharkscope so numbers/pix may not correspond 100%. just cbf writing down br every morning b4 i start gridning

thanks a lot for the support guys

after a bunch of reviewing and thinking i ve decided to drop $8 180s and replace them with $3rebuys cuz they play much deeper alongside $4.50 regspeeds and a bunch of mainly regspeed MTTs over the next few days. we ll see how that goes.

off to bed gnite all

i think relative to me most villains i have played have postflop leaks in MTTs mainly becasue all they do is play 30 tbls and play like nits. its not rare to see a villain HU that plays 40% or less from the big blind making u auto profit huge by minraising 100% for xample. i gotta admit i myself have had a hard time playing 3handed though because its a fairly unusual dynamic.

but to answer your question- while i myself am likely full of leaks i am yet to encounter villains at my buyin levels that i would consider better than a good 50nl/100nl cash reg

played not all that many games/hours today cuz i couldnt get myself to get up before 3 pm and then got a workout in and then realized we had nothing to eat so ahd to do groceries and then made chicken curry. didnt start loading games until 8pm lol and tbh i m not happy with how i played today. punted away 4 really big stacks ITM in a few good tournaments in spots where it wasnt neccessary but hey live and learn as they say. I also realized that i m way too overexcited when it comes to grinding. while i have not much trouble playing 20-22 tables anything above that and i start timing out all over the place. so starting tomorrow and based on past results and performance i will drop all turbo 180s and heavily focus on grinding quality regspeed 180s as well as most regspeed MTTs.

here are my $4.50 results this year (lol)

and that includes a 9th place just now where i got in 50 bigs (2nd place stack) vs the bigstack holding AKss vs his AQo (KxQ Q x (dance) ) and busted in 9th haha. think the spot called for my jam though so while it stung i didnt mean this spot in the spew mentioned above.

since most the games i played today are still runnig and Hm2 doesnt record rebuys correctly i cant post todasys graph but i have the rough numbers:

****May 3rd****

hours: 7:12
tourneys: 85
ABI: $6.8ish
profit: -$250ish (but cashed in a stellar so down about $200 net today)

****Month to date****

hours: 24:26
tourneys: 351
profit: $1kish

here s an awesome set i ve been listening to all day today:

I know this was a long time ago back when we were MTT noobs. I just like to hear about your thoughts on this now.

This was the 109$ 100k GTD on Merge back in 1/30/12

Believe it or not alot of people I have talked to in the past have told me it was a mistake since we are obv just trying to win the blinds. I think they made this point because of average stack size of the table meaning we have more FE than if majority of the table had more chips.

Imagine folding, picking up napkins in the blinds and proceed to be card dead in the next few hands. And in the next orbit, you probably have action in front of you each time which hurts your FE.

If you pick up KTo UTG the next orbit, in that situation, damn right you will be cursing you didn't shove it earlier
blakkman08 - Grind up the Stakes in 2013 Quote
05-04-2013 , 02:01 PM
well heres my thinking

the jam with KTo will have a chip expectation of about -5. possible outcomes are we get folds and win some and survive the blinds and likely a full orbit, we get snapped and double or we get snapped and bust. if we fold we ll lose 1.1k in chips unless we get a top 8-15% hand.

so including future EV which obv is a much more important consideration in MTTs that cash (nonexistant in cash... almost) i think a jam should be better.

going by pure chipEV yes its a fold
