hey blakkman, I appreciate the updates and am definitely subbing. Actually, i've been somewhat of a regular live player at 1/2 for some time now at my local casino as well as a doing a bit of dabbling at the 2/5 and 5/10 games at the Venetian and Bellagio. I wanted to say that I am starting to play regularly on stars at the .10/.25 or .25/.50 although I haven't really decided what level would be best in my transition to online. I am actually kind of concerned about the transition from Live to Online, because of how important reads are in my game. do you have any suggestions for game selection/hand reading from live to online? I would appreciate any and all suggestions and look forward to hearing from you and maybe catching you a little bit as well on stars. my sn is jlapka. catch you on the flip side!

first of all thank you for subbing. always appreciate interested followers and even though i am a live poker fish i ll give you my thoughts on ur situation:

i think as a live player you will have the hardest time going for the most important weapon in online players' arsenal: volume. therefore my advice would be to start at a limit you feel comfortable doing some funny business while you learn to play a bunch of tables while getting used to the nature of online play (possibly with the help of a micros coach as it really isnt that hard to get right but its hard to pick out the resources you need to get there on your own) so i think 25nl is a good point to get your feet wet before using semi aggro bankroll management to get up in stakes as soon as possible.

as for game selection and hand reading: imo playing regular tables is going to give you a better shot at success because obv you can mark players as weak and chase them down whenever you see them pop up in the lobby. there also is software that ll do that search for you.

hand reading is mostly the same as long as you know how the average player plays at the stakes you end up playing which will likely be a bit more tight and a bit more aggro than ur avg live player.

Nah no big roll, But its pretty cheap living for me, I can get around pretty well on 1k-1,2k euro/month. And if I don't, pretty easy get a job in gaming industry here, so what the hell. right? Lived in Sweden al my life and hated every minute of it so I just sold my flat and moved. :-)

DONT BE A BR NIT! its sickening to think of the amounts of $$$ i cost myself by playing 800k hands at nl25 without moving up or seeking out a stake and moving up or doing *something* to move me up limits.

hence my advice would deffo be to be aggro with the roll. will do tons for ur mental game too imo.

if i had to do it again i d do 30-40 BI i think

I took a 5 month break from poker after I had a huge downswing at 25NL last year, ran ~25bi below EV, it tilted me so hard that i tilt-withdrew my entire roll. When FTP2 came I had some cash on there, so now im playing with that again on Stars... Back studying hard and playing 10NL... Embarrassingly enough im 3 tabling atm to get back in the groove/work on my redline... I'll make another thread soon, once I have something to show...
On a side note I might PM you soon about doing a video review.
