Recently, I decided to take a serious stab at a "Ferguson Challenge" of sorts and start from scratch to build a bankroll on PokerStars (and not take 2x/3X shots at 100NL/200NL and go busto -_-). I hope to see how far I can run it, and hopefully motivate/inspire others to do the same. Story as follows:

1. Finished 4th in NLHE Hubble satellite to Weekly 2K on July 22nd
2. Cashed in Weekly 2 Grand in 163rd place on July 24th for $1.10
3. Bought in for the dimer ($0.10 360 man SnG) finished first for $8.50

At this point I decided to take a shot playing $1.75 18 man turbo SnGs. I had primarily mass tabled 5NL and 10NL in the past but had wide success with these structured SnGs.

38 tournaments later, I'm up to $110 dollars, and once I hit $150, considering taking up 5NL or moving up to $3.40 18 man SnG's. I realize I ran good in the beginning, but that sample size also has given me the confidence that I can successfully beat the stakes and improve my game while doing so before taking a shot at the higher levels. Proper Preperation Prevents Piss Poor Performance, if you will. I hope to update this from time to time if I have a great session/move up stakes. I also hope that this serves as some motivation to people with goals of moving up through the ranks. Good luck to all!

Started playing multitabling 10NL full ring, up to $152 now ^_^

(I buy in short for $5, probably not the most optimal strategy, but it has proved effective in the past).

You can try short stacking 10NL 6max on the shallow stack tables, I found them incredibly soft when I tried a similar goal.

Thanks for the tip. Are there a lot of Chinese shovebots playing those? Also, how is the play generally at those tables? I haven't played much 6max aside from the occasional SnG.

Up over $500 dollars and made Silverstar a few days ago. Crushing $6.50 18 man turbos and grinding 10NL FR 6-9 tables again after addressing a few leaks. On track to Goldstar within the month, looking forward to Battle of the Planets payout and $50 buck VPP bonus.
