Re: Being a 1000NL reg by the end of 2012 [STASIA42]

I assume you are looking at it from the moral point of view of giving back etc?
I mean I won't lie it is pretty selfish, but I just don't see the point of making the games tougher for myself over the next few years. Fair enough if you are make cardunners/coach, that is also selfish as it is -EV for the playing pool but +EV for yourself. However me giving out free info that isn't obviously available on 2+2 is obviously not +EV except maybe for my ego ha.

Re: Being a 1000NL reg by the end of 2012 [STASIA42]

So... had a fun night, plus posted some drunken-sshhiiittt at the Isreali 2+2, so felt the best thing to do before going to sleep for 5 hours will be playing a bit of poker

Obv I'm a realistic guy, and considering my status () I made even more strict stop-losses for the session before starting it - maximum down 2BI after 0.5 hours, maximum down 2.5BI after 1 hour.

Obv I meant EV-Expected-wise, right..?

As always in these situations I found myself after 10 minutes and 200 hands in a 6BI hole effective (-3K), 1BI expected (-0.5K), with the following hands, among others:

Hand 1: Vs a "reg"

PokerStars - $5 NL (6 max) ZOOM - Holdem - 6 players

Pondered should I quit now and go to sleep sad & hurt, but decided I was playing to well to do this, and that tomorrow I will forget that I played well and blame myself for playing in a not-so-fit condition, so OBV carried on...

1. How many tables do you play when not playing zoom?
2. How many hands per day do you play?
3. How long are you sessions normally?
thanks, great thread.

I am trying to get to thinking combos in-game. Not able to do that yet. Your value range may have anything from 11 to 50 combos. Good villain who is able to use combos in-game makes an estimate of do you have 6 to 25 bluff combos in your range. Ofc there is more to it, but combos

Not saying you shouldn't think about combos etc. just saying that from a certain limit, combo-thinking = the new ABC. Missing a lot of meta-game issues IMO..

Generally speaking I play around 2 hours per day, so around 1500 hands I think. Used to play between 8-14 tables, currently trying to play no more than 8 regular tables, and only 3 (as opposed to most of the regs who play 4) Zoom tables.

4 tables of Zoom feels to me a bit like I'm on a race, and VPPs is its destination... Not that I can't handle the volume, just now sure how much of my thought process gets expressed when I'm literally clicking buttons every second...

I think my WR speaks for itself, as the main difference between me and most of the reg pool is the amount of volume. For example, I played 450k hands this year, prob at least half than the average reg on MSNL at PokerStars.

Seems to me that 2X WR >> 2X hands played, from all relevant aspects.

Hey Stas! Great thread, keep it going... Registered on 2+2 to say it lol

Regarding K4cc hand - I dont know, man. Having T blocker equivalents having both A+T blockers, cause the only nut-flush you play like this is ATcc. So you rep very thin, K-high flushes only, he may consider calling with his Tc in the first place. Secondly, I think pulling off a huge bluff like this with a blocker is prob better when you have more flushes in your range, than just 2nd nuts ONLY... So its a spew on his side imo. If he is capable of spewing around - then call, otherwise fold.

How do you like it on 500NLZ? How tough is the field comparing to regular 200, 400-600, and 1k? since you played all these stakes in short period of time?

Bahazlaha gever!

Not sure about exact number but I took the total MGR of current month, multiplied it by 0.3 (I think Supernove get around 30% rakeback through VIP store, when buying the highest cash available?), multiplied by 100, and devided by the bb.

That's what came up...

Re: Being a 1000NL reg by the end of 2012 [STASIA42]

Some weird spot from today, and in weird I mean that I was the one playing weird

Both villain are agrro-regs (SB prob mediocre, UTG quite solid).

The thought for this line came from how I used to play my AdXd in 3bet-pots, like 2 years ago

PokerStars - $5 NL (6 max) ZOOM - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

BTN: $781.12
SB: $508.65
BB: $647.36
UTG: $532.98
MP: $227.60
Hero (CO): $731.53

SB posts SB $2.50, BB posts BB $5.00

Pre Flop: ($7.50) Hero has A K

UTG raises to $10.00, fold, Hero calls $10.00, fold, fold, BB raises to $42.50, UTG calls $32.50, Hero calls $32.50

Flop: ($130.00, 3 players) 7 K 2
BB bets $65.00, UTG calls $65.00, Hero calls $65.00

Turn: ($325.00, 3 players) 4
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $624.03 and is all-in, BB calls $539.86 and is all-in, fold

River: ($1404.72, 2 players) 7

Spoiler:

I bet SB was tilting like hell there seeing my AK, cause he actually SNAPPED it on the turn...

I was like - "fuh, def not AA/KK since he would delay his call to bring UTG in as well"

River: ($537.70, 2 players) T
Hero bets $497.52 and is all-in, CO calls $497.52

Spoiler:

Although prob one of the worst rivers I could ask for, check-calling vs this type os not an option (he will sometimes check-behind even T-weak-kicker), and check-check is soooo sad so.... Value-shove it is WoooHoooo.

-------------------------------------------

Hand 2: Vs aggro-donk

PokerStars - $5 NL (6 max) ZOOM - Holdem - 6 players

River: ($197.56, 2 players) 3
MP bets $65.00, Hero raises to $259.59, MP calls $194.59

Spoiler:

Thank you for check-calling flop... Never understood those aggro-donks, they go for cbet-3bet-stackoff on this flop with 97o given enough dynamics, but when they hit the absolute nuts, 200bb deep? check-call...

----------------------------------------------

Hand 3: River-spot vs a reg

PokerStars - $5 NL (6 max) ZOOM - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

BTN: $325.85

River: ($203.62, 2 players) 3
Hero bets $126.51, CO raises to $378.00, Hero calls $251.49

Spoiler:

I was bet-folding river in theory (most of his raise-river range consists of Full-houses), but then "accidentaly" pressed the call button insted. Was lucky enough to hit his bottom-of-the-bottom-raise-river-range, plus had blockers vs this particular hand.. Def a fold on the river, though a must-value-bet IMO.
