Tbh hand1 vs tricky reg is never a fold imo.. so many two pairs and flush combos, aint that right?

Hand2 im not folding either with the flush draw out there, and you can always speculate about the backdoor flush draws aswell as the initial flush draw

Note to self - Make an "unbrag" post with all these flat-flat-flat to shove where I'm absolutely crushed

Would prob check-call a heart as well. His shove was actually perceived by me as a "value" shove (meaning I think his air-hands would go for a "value" bet and not a shove), but figured I'm ahead of his "value" range.

Re: Being a 1000NL reg by the end of 2012 [STASIA42]

Played today a tournament with what was probably the toughest field possible in Israel, finished 6 out of 18, felt really good with my game, especially after surviving almost 8 hours of play with 99 being the highest pocket pair that I've seen, and twice AK, one of them got small value on level 1, and the second one went all-in vs shortstack with 9bb and KK (obv flop was AKX).

Some hands from last 2 days...

Am I wrong to think that hand 2 is a dumb play by the SB with the stacks so deep to a pretty strong 3-bet??

Nice Thread btw, been following!

First of all, I do think I'm good on the river in some weird spots like the one that actually happened, but yeah generally speaking didn't think he has too many hands that are stronger than my J, that call turn and fold to my river bet.

Re: Being a 1000NL reg by the end of 2012 [STASIA42]

Finally finished my 200NL journey for this time, WoooHooo :}

Original plan was to play around 15k hands, with at least 5bb/100, and 1500$ profit. Eventually decided to stick around a bit more, to make sure I have where to go back if my current re-climb to MSNL should fail.

Today finished a great deep-table session, felt really good about my game and decision making, feels like the right time to go back to 400NL.

Current 200NL quest ended with 20k hands, 9bb/100, and 3k profit with which I'm gonna gamble a bit at 400NL :P

Graph:

Spoiler:

Played with a lot of Israeli regs like XmrWhat, GadMo, Eran4444, Hizintak, VitoC and UriPeleg, all of them are stronger than the average 200NL reg IMO.

A couple of days ago I logged into Stars to give a lesson to a student and I saw one of the most beautiful sights that PokerStars lobby ever offered - all of the 200NL deep tables were filled with 4 Israeli regs in each table, and some random fish/reg-fish... much RESPECT :}

Pre Flop: ($5.00) Hero has 9 T

Hero raises to $5.00, fold, BTN raises to $18.00, fold, fold, Hero calls $13.00

Flop: ($41.00, 2 players) 8 2 T

BTN shows A A (Two Pair, Aces and Eights) (Pre 77%, Flop 73%, Turn 77%)
Hero wins $314.24

Went for a bigger sizing than my standard on river, retrospectively prob should've gone for closer to pot here.

14 combos of ATs/KTs/T9s/T8s he could have. We need to be right 25% of the time. We need to find 5 bluff combos and we will print money. If he bluffs A7/A6/A5/A4/A3 of everytime we have a winner. Probably bluffs some other hands aswell

Inspiring thread man.

This prob have been asked before, but how many tables do you play on average? And do you have periods where you just focus to grind a lot/lots of tables?

Or do you always play fewer tables and think how to exploit the most and play your A-game?

How strict is your table selection?

Anything you want to add? Thanks!

This is less a combo-math situation IMO, and more dynamics situation, main point being should u shove turn or go for a call-call line.

Used to play 8 tables, then started crushing, then added tables up until 14 (in July I played 400NL-2000NL as one single lobby), then stopped crushing, then moved down to 10 tables, then to 8, currently feeling that 8 is the maximum ammount of tables that I can play and think of unorthodox lines.

Prob if/when I reach back 1000NL, will play it exclusively, and no more than 6 tables.

I don't believe in the *grinding* concept, feels like being employed by PokerStars + seems to me like the opposite of maximizing your hourly (bb/100 hands-wise).

Don't really table select because if a table is running, a fish is involved.. Plus, most of the regs are kinda fishy IMO, at least at 200NL-600NL.

Best advice IMO to anyone who plays poker would be, start from 2 tables, add tables while you're winning, remove tables if u reach a BE strech, and find your optimal no. of tables balance according to $$/hour.

Yea nice graph Stasia, we played a bit but v.little tbh, probably less than 100 hands, i try to avoid the 600nl regs playing 100nl for fun and stick to just beating up on the normal terrible 100nl ones GL
