Gonna try to hold myself accountable and improve my volume by starting this thread.

My goal is to move up from 10NL and become a winning reg at 50NL with a minimum winrate of 5bb/100 over 100k hands by the end of this year.

I started using a tracker in Oct 2022 and the graph starts from there:

I will be playing reg tables only on stars. I plan to update regularly with hand histories, etc, and once a week with my results.

The plan is to grind an absolute minimum of 30k hands a month, and take a 10bi shot at the next stake with 50bi.

I got absolutely destroyed at the tables today. Coolers not going my way and running bad in 3BP and 4BP. Haven't checked, but I should be down at least 5-6 buyins .

I was planning to grind for 4-5 hrs but decided to cut my session short since I'm not having fun anymore.

Won't post big losing hands since all are super standard. Ended my session right after this hand just to feel good

        update

After that super rough session, I realized that I needed to work on my mental game. So I bought and read the A-Game Poker book by Elliot Roe and have been doing all the suggestions and exercises these last 3-4 days and never played a single session.

Now I'm ready to grind again with a better mental game.

Also, from now on, I'm just gonna do an end-of-month update. Doing this helps me be less results-oriented and can focus more on the process.

Strong mental game is important. It doesn’t have to come right now this minute, slow is better than no. Train it like a muscle

Nice value town w/33 vs fish.

you're absolutely correct..pushing thru while playing my c-game or worse doesn't do me any good, stepping away is a great early stage band-aid

end goal is to be able to maintain A-game and hit volume goals no matter the results

Focusing on playing high quality sessions is much better for your success than putting in volume. This is a good approach. Good luck.

You might find your C game improves along with your A game. At some point your C game might become your old A game. Something that was really powerful for me was when I know I’m tilted, stop my mind and go play simply 5-10 more minutes before closing session and be mindful about coming back to calm. Slowly and surely my tilt lasted less and less which allows me to have much longer sessions (have done well up to 10 hour sessions, used to lose my mind after just 1 hour. now 1 hour is bare minimum for session) and perform much more consistent even when the cards may not go my way.

I got over tilt by playing through tilt. It is just an emotion it wont last forever. The problem is if you quit every time you are upset you wont be playing much poker. A lot of things go wrong when we play. Once you accept the variance in poker you wont tilt anymore. Things you can do on the tables is make sessions shorter until you put together a few winning sessions and feel better about your game.
