Greetings 2p2

No backstory, no intro, i'm just here to become the top 5 overall plo5 player in the world and would like to document my progress for everyone to see.

I currently play anywhere from plo200 upto plo500 and want to put in some volume for this month and June to see where I'm at.

Aside from my poker goal to become the top 5 best player, I also have a desire to feel good physically and mentally. I am currently working on getting more quality sleep at night (at least 7h) using my fitbit tracker. Also going to be updating what I eat on a daily basis here as I am also working on eating a diet revolving around vegetables but getting enough protein still from meat so I don't lose muscle mass.

I will be treating this as my accountability journal for everyone to see

Top 5 plo5 has a nice ring to it.

Also I thought about Top 10 but it might already be too far from being one of the best. Top 5 it's still debatable that I could be one of the best since it's probably difficult to gauge what the true ranking of the top 5 players.

Also top 5 meaning I'm always going to be in the GG PLO5 VIP tables when its running(soon). If I'm top 10 I'm probably not always going to be playing those games.

8/10 - Pretty good day overall today

Slept 6h 59m - could improve by having better sleep habits (no cellphone in bed), also I do notice after 1h phone usage it takes me a while to be in a sleeping state as my eyes feel a bit heavy that I even feel quite uncomfortable closing my eyes immediately, have to let my eyes open a bit and just stare into blackness.

Food - ate outside during lunch time, not the healthiest choices of ribs and truffle pasta but I only ate up to the point where I don't feel hungry anymore. I even had left overs and also ate that in the evening. Probably lacking a bit of protein so decided to take a protein shake before sleep.

Played 3 1 hour sessions - there were some interesting hands but I decided to leave it for tomorrow to go in-depth as I didn't have much energy approaching towards the end of my day

Outside of poker, played a bit of bowling - was always interested in taking it seriously when I was younger but I didn't really had the chance to, I'll probably think about in a couple of days whether I want to take it a bit seriously. After researching a bit about this sport, it seems like you have to get a custom drilled ball to be able to start learning proper technique. Playing with houseballs seem like a waste of time if you see yourself want to improve. Had fun playing a couple of games by myself, put in two separate sessions. Also was a bit of a workout, could consider it as a light cardio session

What do I want to do tomorrow that I didn't do today?
For Poker - not much, I feel like I put in a solid grind and a light review session, I just want to ease myself into increasing my volume and study hours. I could perhaps, do a bit more in-depth study tomorrow

Outside Poker
- Do morning meditation
- Put in a weight training session

6/10 - Nothing wrong with my day except that it's quite far from my ideal day

Slept 6h - woke up feeling good but felt a bit sleepy around after lunch, decided to take a 30min nap

Food - Could definitely have picked better choices, ate okay for lunch, just some beef and rice but dinner was not healthy at all, went to a private live NLH game and just ate what they served there, not the healthiest options but food tasted really good, also ate a bunch of sweets today for lunch and dinner as well, ideally I would like to cut our 90% of added sugar in my diet. I have to be mindful next time of my craving of sweets

Poker - Played 1 session in the morning, went to the gym afterwards then took a nap, I then got invited into a private NLH game so I decided to check it out, didn't go well, didn't run good and had one cooler situation and the other was I tried to play my flush draw aggressively against a maniac which had a very strong hand. I think I should stop playing live NLH even though I'm not punting, I don't think I really have huge edge since I haven't studied the game for so long and the fish in the game are starting to be less spewy. They start to play reasonably well postflop. I think it only makes sense to play in these games if I also study. I don't think it's worth the EV to be slightly winning in this game and only getting dealt few hands per hour.

What do I want to do tomorrow that I didn't do today?
For Poker - I have a bad habit of game selecting too hard. While it's good for my winrate, it isn't aligned with my goal of becoming the Top 5 PLO5 player. If I want to be one of the best, I have to battle it out with regs and figure out how what they are doing.

Outside Poker - Choose healthier food options, limit to one sweet snack starting tomorrow.

Will be posting hands starting Monday next week.

Missed out to update in the last few days, got a bit serious into bowling and put quite a bit of time in that during my free time. Didn't do in-depth study and just did the bare minimum of reviewing my post-session hands but still managed to put in two 1-hour grind sessions per day. I want to start putting in more maybe 1-2 sessions more depending on how I feel for that day. I will increase slowly, before I would always do the max everytime I'm planning to do things and it never was consistent. Now, I'm just going to take small steps and be more relaxed with my approach. Poker is much more comparable to a marathon than a sprint. Just want to pace myself and be consistent.

Sleep wasn't that good though, averaging 5.5h per day. Could definitely improve on this by being more intentional with how I structure my night routine. From now on, I will try to schedule the every 4-6 hours per day. When I wake up, I plan my next 4-6 hours, after that, plan the next and so on until I finish my day. This way I could have total control of my time. I still have a bad habit of using my phone before bed time and I binged too much on bowling content in the last 3 days, now that's out of my system, I will be able to have a better night routine.

Today was quite a productive day, played three 1-1.5 hour sessions, practiced a bit of bowling after grind then did some in-depth studying

Initially I thought it was close and in game, it felt like this combo was a fold. It's actually an easy fold and we only continue around 40% of these single nut-suited AA. These AA should probably be quite connected. Something like AAQ54 single nut suit would make the cut.

Quite weird cold 4b by the reg there, only way it makes sense if maybe he had info vs the 3better than he's a spewy, otherwise, it's a bit of a punt facing this kind of action from two EP players.

Now, in my perspective, this is just an easy fold next time. Even if the 3better is out of line, most regs just cold 4bet AA here. We have to be sure that the reg has enough non-AA hands we dominate for us to start stacking off these weak AA. I think it will be a very specific dynamic where the 3better is just way out of line for AND the reg over adjusts by 4betting a very wide range as well. Also I have to keep in mind that 3-way the equities are much closer.

We actually ran into one of the best case scenarios here and we had close to 50% equity against this matchup, quite surprising.

Tomorrow's day outline
- Review what I studied in-depth today
- Grind 3-4 1 hour sessions
- Do errands after grinding
- Do in-depth study in the afternoon/evening

Yoyoyo still here guys, was just a bit too tired to do updates at the end of each day. I think I could probably do once a week to just recap and maybe if there are any interesting happenings in the middle of the week will be posting as well.

Sleep - very good, been averaging 6h 30m for the past 4 days, I'm still using my phone in my bed BUT I have made it strict to stop any activity by 9PM and just stay in bed no matter what. It really helps me feel sleepy as I have no choice but to doze off after a few moments.

Food - very good as well, I've been following Bryan Johnson's super veggie, I eat it as replacement for white rice. I just add proteins either fish, beef or chicken. I feel way less bloat and could eat anytime without feeling lethargic afterwards. I've also been incorporating a lot of fruit into my diet as replacement for my cravings for desserts.

Poker - past 4 days was good, just cruising 2-3 hour grinds, taking a break in between and studying around 1 hour per day. Today, I'm tried to push a little bit my grind but around 13:00, I stopped playing since action was not too good anymore and the remaining tables are suspect. I think if I wake up early, I could definitely start putting more hours.

Other - tried some coffee today after quitting for a couple of months clean, man it was an amazing experience! I was super wired and focused on the tables. I will continue taking coffee but I will take 2 days off for a single shot espresso and 3 days off if I take a double shot. I took a double shot today and I felt like it was a bit too much. I'll take my next single shot on May 24th. Unfortunately, will have to be caffeine free for the next 3 days, I'm not sure what to expect.

For the graphs, I'm not too proud of my volume, but I'm playing very few tables as of the moment. In next few weeks I'll ramp up my volume. Going to be waking up earlier and grind a bit more.

Btw 85% is 1/2, rest is 0.5/1 and 2/5

Tomorrow Day Outline
0600 Wakeup + Morning Routine
0645 Review + Pre-session routine
0730 Start Grind
1330 End Grind
1800 Study
1945 End Study
2000 Night Routine
2100 Strict Bed Time

Will be doing some errands tomorrow after grind, buy some food, play a bit of bowling

May 20-26 Update

My graph since my last post

4.1k hands for 6 days, took a day off yesterday been averaging 3h of grind per day, playing anywhere from 2-4 tables. I think I want to put a bit more hours this coming week, going to be aiming an average of 4.5-5 hours of grind. Still going to continue my study around 1.5-2 hours per day

Poker - been playing pretty solid I think, playing less tables really helps me see even guys who have decent stats make huge mistakes based on showdown.

Sleep - was way off for the last 4 days, although I'm getting like 6 hours per night, my sleeping time shifted to 12mn - 6am. Will be restarting again tonight and hopefully be sleeping 10pm

Food - diet is a bit hit and miss, I bought some of my favorite sugary treats with the intention of building up my will power to have some control when eating sweets. I always had an addiction to good tasting food in general and couldn't stop myself from finishing the whole thing. The first 2 days was okay, I did have some self-restraint but on the third day onwards I started binge eating again. Sometimes I think that maybe it's just bet to setup your environment to avoid these things. When there's no sweets at home, I don't really look for them that often. On the other hand, it also seems like I have to overcome my addiction by facing it instead of running away from it. This way whenever it comes up in the future, I will be able to control myself.

Other - seems like I could start introducing coffee responsibly in my routine again. Even on my off days, I don't really feel brain fogged and I could still play/study with good focus. Although there's definitely a difference when I am on caffeine. I think on days that I am on caffeine, I could push myself to put in more work and on days that I'm off, I could have a more relaxed day.
