Heya guys! My name is Herkauwer and I live in The Netherlands. I'm currently doing my last school year, which can be quite a bitch sometimes, with all these exams and stuff.
Started playing $1.50 HUSNG's in summer, the $15's is where I'm at right now. Becoming a high stakes regular ($100's and above) seems definitely feasible. I believe the only thing that really stops me from getting there is tilt and bad discipline. I can still get really annoyed by getting bad beats, even though I know I'm +EV. As a result of that I often start making bad plays.
So the plan is to only play when really concentrated. If I can stick to that, I'll probably beat the $15's pretty hard.
I'll try to update at least once a week, only won't be playing sometimes because of school and other things. Trying to play as much poker as possible though, volume is very important.

My lifetime graph:

Thanks for reading/following!

Thing aren't going well. Played 13 games yesterday and today. Won 6 of them, lost 7. I feel like I played okay-ish, not great though. Things like 3betbluffing and c/raising light almost never worked, should probably tighten up a bit. Also had some standard coolers/beats, but I also should've relied on my notes more often.
Bad beats are still tilting me pretty hard, gotta get rid of that.

Bankroll is at $403.

Post some of the spots where you check raised light/3bet bluffed (here or in heads up sng forum).

Could just be variance that they didn't work, could be misplays, but I have a feeling that looking at those situations more clearly can be worth the time it takes to post and discuss them.

GL, I'm in a similar position myself so I'll be checking in and maybe even trying to comment on those hands if you do post them (and it's obv/ really good advice from ChiRy that you should).

If you have a HUsng.com sub, i'd recommend watching cog. diss's "focus" video at least twice. If you don't, I'd recommend getting one

Played some games this morning, but decided to stop after this match:

First hand:

Poker Stars $14.29+$0.71 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t10/t20 Blinds - 2 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

BTN/SB: t1500 75 BBs
Hero (BB): t1500 75 BBs

Pre Flop: (t30) Hero is BB with 4 T
BTN/SB calls t10, Hero checks

Flop: (t40) 2 8 T (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets t60, Hero calls t60

Turn: (t160) K (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets t60, Hero calls t60

River: (t280) 3 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets t100, Hero folds

Final Pot: t280
BTN/SB wins t280

A few hands later:

Poker Stars $14.29+$0.71 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t10/t20 Blinds - 2 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

BTN/SB: t1690 84.50 BBs
Hero (BB): t1310 65.50 BBs

Pre Flop: (t30) Hero is BB with 9 7
BTN/SB calls t10, Hero checks

Flop: (t40) 3 2 9 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets t80, Hero calls t80

Turn: (t200) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets t140, Hero calls t140

River: (t480) J (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets t400, Hero calls t400

Final Pot: t1280
BTN/SB shows J J (three of a kind, Jacks)
Hero mucks 9 7
BTN/SB wins t1280

Really hate myself for calling here. I know the river call is horrible, maybe even flop or turn call.
This was the second time he overbet flop, so I was thinking he would be very spewy or something. I really have to fix this leak before even thinking of moving to the 30's.

Yeah that could be a good idea, posted some of them, thanks.

Posted them in the HUSNG section. And yeah, I have downloaded all HUSNG.com vids, it's really helpful. I'll definitely watch diss' focus vid, thanks.

I call river in first hand and I'll use that read to make a decision in hand 2.

As played I'd call too in hand 2, why is it horrible?

Hand 2 looks okay to me, not much you can do IMO after he barrels you off on hand 1.

I would call river in hand 1. I would probably play hand 2 the sam way you did.

Yeah looking back at it I maybe should've called hand 1, I think hand 2 is a clear fold though. So many bigger 9's, two pairs, etc. Didn't even think villain could have a high pocket pair here. I sometimes forget about that, because I never do it myself.

Lost all games today, didn't play much though because I was scared of tilting and losing more. Seems like I started losing money since I opened this thread, haha.
My plan is to watch some HUSNG.com vids and review my game a bit. Don't want to fall back to the 7's, I'm already pretty close to it.

Bankroll at $343.

After watching some HUSNG vids and sweating a friend who is a $60 reg I finally played some games again. I played break-even, which pretty sucks, but I guess it doesn't say much because I only played like 8 games. Just stopped playing because I felt tilted after losing this last match and I was sure if I kept playing I wouldn't play well.
My conclusion is that I have two major problems; tilt and volume. Have watched some tilt/focus vids for my tilt problem and it all sounds very logical and easy when watching these, but I still think ***damnit after getting a bad beat.
As for my lack of volume, I think tilt is related to this. Fortunately most of the time I know when to stop because of tilt, but of course this means I stop playing, often for the rest of the day.
If anyone has some tips or suggestions for these two things, please let me know!
Hope to post some positive updates soon.

What's up everyone. I feel like I'm on the edge of becoming a definite losing/break-even or a definite winning poker player. After yet another mediocre day of poker I feel like this is the moment to change everything. I have a big tilt problem and I'm gonna fix it. It's all about me can't standing to lose. This applies to everything I do, from any sport to poker. From now on I will do anything to reduce my tilt as much as possible through any possible way. I'm gonna look away from my screen when in a flip situation, I'll count to 10 when I feel tilt coming, I won't play hungry, sleepy or unconcentrated, etc, etc.
Besides that I also have to keep improving the strategic aspects of my game. HUSNG.com vids will help a lot with this. Not only am I going to watch these vids, I'll also takes notes of anything I think can be useful, to get the most out of it.
It's gonna be hard doing this, especially next to school, sports and other things, but I'm sure I can do it. Let's start crushing.

Thanks for following!

So last week I didn't play a lot. Mostly watched video's and also read mersenneary's ebook (which I'm going to read again though). I also decided to switch to turbo's. Reg speeds sometimes took so damn long, I felt it was really worth it to make the move. I love how much faster it is. Plan is to grind the 7s till I have $400, then I'll return to the 15s, hopefully. Roll is at $331.

One table. I feel like I can't fully concentrate on both opponents unless they're huge fish. Maybe I should learn to do it, should be doable at these stakes.
Thanks!

Two weeks of holiday have started! Means I have a lot more time to play and to study. I hope to have two productive weeks, gogo.
Didn't play much lately, made a small profit though. Good thing is I didn't tilt at all. Bankroll at $345. $400 --> $15s.

About two yrs ago after playing alot of HU sitngo's I developed a strategy that has proven to be quite profitable and I will pass it on to you..

What I do is play in say a $30 9-man sitngo and play in a $60 HU sitngo at the same time and the reason it is so profitable for me at least is cause obviously playing HU
it is non-stop n commands all ur attention so while you are playin in the HU sess. you are developing a very tight image in the 9-man sitngo.

Now by the time your HU game is over n hopefully you win the HU .. the 9-man sitngo is down to bout 6-7 player maybe less depending on how long ur sess is, an with having such a tight image u then take advantage of that by being able to steal the blinds n anties when they get to be high

Also by winning the HU game you are now free-rolling the 9-man sitngo and I also win or place in top 3 say 7 out of ten times and winning both witch I have done so many times builds ur BR so quick you will be surprised how profitable this method really is.

Try it out n if ur not ready to mult-table start with either play money or very low-stakes til ur comfortable enough to do so..

Also several times I would be in a battle in the HU game n by the time my HU game is done the 9-Man sitngo is down to three people so after winning the HU sess. N only playing the nuts in the 9-man keeping me from blinding out everyone else does all the work for me n I reap the rewards.. Its actually a very good stratagy and builds ur money up so quickly..
