Is your hourly rate playing 10/20NL the same as 1/2NL in terms of BB/hr?

I was gonna play a little 10/20 before we left vegas but forgot. And you just reminded me damnit. Those bellagio 10/20 (10/20/40) games look so fun.

Got a vape. It's the sickest thing ever. Blowing massive clouds in line at walmart. As I type this I'm vaping at my desk in my apartment, I would never smoke a cigarette inside. I'm still going to get a hookah around the end of the month as a no cigarette reward. That's more of a social activity and will be dope on my back balcony.

Really interresting.

And to resume it all, you started one year ago playing 2/5 with a 5.7k$ roll and you are now living in Vegas playing T/20 ?

Sick life, inspiring.

I saw you mentionning a trip to Montreal city at one point. But maybe I skipped the part where you got there. I live here and it's the best place in North America :P
5/T is my main game at the moment but I also play deep 2/5 games and some T/20. Sadly haven't gotten to Montreal city yet. Hopefully soon!

Not enough data at either game.

It's a great feeling playing that game. Next time you're out here we can do some Bellagio crushing, I'll put you up anytime.

Yeah, true. If you are just using it on your balcony alone, its probably a worse habit to develop.

Thanks for the great thread ECG,
It's pouring for like 36 hrs straight here so I spent the entire afternoon reading pages 1-current. Incredible story thus far, 10/10 for entertainment and also as a practical guide for the next year of my life. I'll be referring to the early pages of this thread a ton as I transition back to playing full time. (played full time briefly in between jobs with intention of continuing but then got new job offer I couldn't turn down within 6 weeks).

So basically trying to do the same thing you've done except I put in a couple years of corporate work first after graduating (1 year mgmt consulting, 1 year airline revenue analyst) so have a good 2/5/life roll to get started. Hanging out here in Hawaii until my lease is up, Toronto for the holiday season to buy a car/see friends and family, then road-tripping the move to Vegas early in the new year.

2 things:

1) in my ~800 hrs of live play I've never seen audio technica m50's other than my own - so so so much more +EV than beats as someone who dabbles in house music production.

2) I just finished bertrand russell's history of western philosophy as an introduction to the subject and completely agree about its relevance/importance to long term poker thinking and mindset - looking forward to reading more of this stuff. Is there anyone you've read that you've found particularly helpful for poker?

I'll be in Vegas Nov 5-12 to grind and scout house/apartment locations for 2015 - would be cool to buy you one or many drinks while I'm there in exchange for some perspective.

My roomate arrived last night. We grabbed some beers on the strip, chatted up a cute bartender at Osheas. Headed back to the apt to top off some Kentucky bourbon straight from the distillery, drank beers, and smoked bowls until 1pm in the afternoon.

Woke up at 10:30PM ready to crush the world. Listening to Octavarium, finishing my Tea, heading to the gym. I know my goal for the next 1 year in Vegas. I'm hyped up to work hard and make some massive improvement. Clarity

So many years have passed
Since I proclaimed
My independence
My mission
My aim
And my vision
So secure
Content to live each day like it's my last
It's wonderful to know
That I could be
Something more than what I dreamed
Far beyond what I could see
Still I swear that I'm
Missing out this time

1 Year in Vegas: Goals & Aspirations

I've settled into my Las Vegas apartment. When I decided to move here my plans were twofold; First to live in an efficient place conducive to improvement in both my poker and personal goals. Second, as a home base for wide travelling adventures - from frequent California travels to the far reaches of the USA, Europe and the world. And simply, living in Vegas is a right of passage for a poker pro.

Over the last month I've concluded that my living arrangement is excellent for those goals; now it's a matter of implementation.

Over beers, rising smoke, and hours of self reflection I've reached clarity in what my poker goals are for the year. By next October my intention is to become one of the best and most profitable Bellagio T/20 regulars.

A few main reasons behind this: First, I think it is the most reasonable peak for the live poker world. It's the biggest no limit game regularly run in U.S casinos, and I'm not sure that I'm interested in the risk/politics associated with playing big home games. Second, I believe that I could achieve, or at least come very close to, my maximum poker potential in that game. Becoming one of the best in that game would require me to master poker more so than I have done with anything else so far.

Beyond these are quite a few basic reasons; but put simply, I wouldn't be happy leaving poker until I get to that point.

It's going to take about a full year, a lot of earnings, and a lot of improvement to get there, but the clarity of intent is a great feeling.

----

I'm not sure how often I'll be posting in this thread anymore, as my time in Vegas will be devoted to massive time playing poker and work going into my game. Outside of Vegas, I will be going on as many trips as I can, most poker related. I'll be sure to put up some TR's from those adventures.

I open KQo in MP, pick up one caller behind. Flop 932r I lead $60, he raises $120, I raise $280, he calls. ($650) Turn K. I check, he jams $1700, I call, MHIG

No, I plan on sticking around for a while; lifestyle crafting and living the dream. But I would be happy with moving into something else at that point. I would rather take a gun to my head than quit now. What's next... who knows? But I'm sure it will be interesting.

Met ECGrinder last night and had a few drinks. Really cool guy.

Has a major leak though when it comes to playing 3bet pots and flirting with beautiful women at the same time. One game at a time my friend
