OK, sorry for misconstruing your post then. If your roll is healthier than ever, and you have the 30k poker roll + 6 months of expenses all saved up, then full steam ahead to LA!

Trevor you're the man.

All I have to add is that leaving a session early cause you're up 5k is also dumb because a winning image is +EV. I'd probably pay $100 every session to be able to sit with 6k and have the idea that I've been steamrolling the table implanted into everyone's mind. Actually I'd pay more cause with 6k you can play monster pots with fish.

hey im loving your thread and reading through your progression, been grinding 1-2 & 2-5 since black friday... any tips for pushing yourself up another level? like when is the right time, disregarding issues of $/bankroll? and how do you push into it if (speaking for myself) if you are highly risk adverse? thx!

1/2 girl is the hottest ever. And smart.

In regards to moving up: weigh the options logically, and then put your balls on the table.

In another great game, stuck $900 at 4:00am. Not going anywhere!

Thanks Carl! It's amazing how quickly goals evolve.

Just got in 2.3k with red Kings on 9c4s3s. Against crazy action, drawing to 2 outs against 44. Oh well, he has every draw, overpair, and toppest pair of course

1 month ago I'd be pretty devastated. I feel nothing as I calmly rebuy bullet 2

I know this is not the proper thread for this question. however I feel that there is a large number of intelligent players viewing this thread which will provide a quality response.
I live in nyc which leaves any casino at least 2hrs away. The commute coupled with time restraints can have a negative affect on my game. It creates pressure to induce play in many different ways which is a huge leak sometimes.
There is a poker club twenty minutes away from home which runs 1-2 tables of 1/2 nl pretty much noon to midnight every day. With an overall player pool of 1-2 hundred people who play there. Most of the players are nits or have a good understanding of the game. Never get the drunks who spew like you would at a casino.
Sorry for the long set up but now to my question. Where the normal casinos rake is around 10% capped off at $5. The local spot is 10% capped off at $9. Will the limited amount of people playing at one time and the higher rake have a large influence on my potential to be a profitable player in the long run? Just would like to know other people's take on this. I look at the extra rake the same as the cost of gas and tolls with the convenience being a +. I know I have to eliminate those expenses completely to maximize my profitability. Going to try n start grinding full time soon. comps and sleeping in the car at foxwoods just like EC.

Sure, its possible. If a max hourly of $20-25/hr is possible for a great $1/2 player.. your max winrate would be closer to $10-15/hr. So yeah, its possible. But, its a bad idea. Everyone has a unique situation(it would hi-jack the thread if you explained yours) but this is something that just seems like its not going to work.

If you are quitting your nyc life to play fulltime, leave nyc. If you can't quit your life in nyc, I highly recommend not attempting to grind that game full-time.

edit: Not sure why I bothered writing that, I feel like it will have no influence on his decision.

Yea this is pretty impressive. Not sure if you've looked at your very first post. It said: "Starting bankroll: $5700"

You back in CT? Perhaps I'll meet you on one of your Foxwoods days.
