Week 9, Day 1
I had the privilege of experiencing a few handfuls of outdoors activities that have been simply magnificent. To name the most memorable ones :
- Grand Canyon hike down + up :camping by the Colorado River, smoking a joint and watching the full moon rise over the canyon was simply a unique and mystical experience. Yes, I did almost die on the way back up, under the
50c+ sun (word of the wise : DO NOT LIGHT UP ONE BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO HIKE UP), yet it remains a must do.
- Camel safari in the Rajasthan Desert was surreal : I had never experienced a peaceful atmosphere within which every single sound reverberated - there were not many - could be observed, analyzed and even reflected upon, until spending a few weeks in the omniscient desert.
- 7 day trek in the Himilayan mountains : the weather was chilly and wintery, yet the scenery was splendid ; top of the world baby!!!
- Canoe trip down the Yukon river : don't know what was more amazing, the flow of the river, of the wine or the great company of 4 jokestars that constituted our group
- A week stint in the heart of desolation : unlike most national parks, in Kluane, you rapidly find yourself in the heart of nowhere
Yukon River. Canoeing down the river is an old man's game : simply let yourself drift with the current and enjoy life
3 years ago, I decided to take the week off from the grind, catch a ride down to Whitehorse, rent a car and meet up with this girl - that I was previously casual with - for a 5 day camping trip in Kluane National Park. She unfortunately deliberately let me know, within a few minutes, that she was not single and had no intentions on being unfaithful
Nevertheless, this did not prevent us from having a great week.
Pretty intimidating how after an hour or 2 or hiking, you find yourself in the core of the bush, with no fellow humans kms upon kms away, and half ass expecting to encounter a bear at every footstep...
So instead of settling for the taste of those fine boobs, I deliberately let myself get lost in the middle of this grandeur... A perfect reminder that we are but a dot compared to the known/unknown forces that transcend us... that we belong, are part of this whole cosmos thing, you know dude.
They are a ton of glaciers in Kluane National Park. We would at times see a car pop by on the road, only to disappear and relinquish us to the heart of the wilderness, once again minuscule, a part of the whole

Cheers bro and good to see you chime in!!! To answer your question, in your challenge thread, about how I am doing and all (I didn't want to derail it), life is good, great to be back here in the Yukon, as it feels comfortable. Cozy. Like home. Am looking forward to this coming winter and India though...

Cheers friend! I will definitely have a ton of pics this week and am thinking about doing different themes for the 7 remaining weeks, all Yukon related of course.
