Quick 30 min session in the NL25 cash games. Can confirm there was atleast 1 donk, which is more than Ive seen at the Stars cash games since 2008.

SNGs have been squeaky-nitty this week but I still think theres more value to be had there at this stake.

Tested the water in NL50 cash tables, with a very low sample the games definitely beatable as theres a lot of ABC being played and not too many funky play-backs...however again it just feels like most profit is coming from blind-stealing and tbh that just isnt fun for me. So, back to the SNG fun!

Played a little HU to wake me up from the cash game snoozefest and managed to have a few heated battes, nice when you get lucky and play the same guy a few times.

If there's one thing I really miss its long HU battles.

Hope they come back to online in some form.

Also gotta love a J-high hero call all in to finish on!

Played loads of HU NL100 over the years, and 10-12 tabling NL50 chasing Platinum Elite at PartyPoker. Ran over 110 buyins under EV and went broke weeks before attaining it...that sucked hard...but learnt a freakin ton doing it and the ensuing partial breakdown led me to 'the eight-fold path to poker enlightenment' series by Tommy Angelo, and Buddhism., so worked out pretty well in the end.

I put it up more for entertainment

but reckon I can justify it...

1. Dude was calling 100% PF and bluffing constantly at any weakness with trash, bit of a fishy maniac. So range probably includes 46, 47, 48, 4T, 4J, 57, 58, 5T, 5J, 67, 68, 6T, 6J, 78, 7T, 7J, 8T, 8J

2. Bluffing with Kx Ax hands and low pairs is a relatively advanced and ballsy play, in my experience very rarely see it from rec-fish.

3. He gave me odds to call turn with str8 draw.

4. Was getting around 4/1 for a call on the river.

Cheers, always fun makin a challenge thread.

Tuesday and Wednesday nits are gonna get a break this week as Ive been out Xmas shopping tonight, and Ive also just realised I'm the weight of a pregnant cow so hitting the gym tomorrow after work.

May plan a jaunt to the local casino this weekend though and test out the 1-1, 1-2 games. Feels a little gross with 5-11 buyins, but should be fun and the last time I played live in a casino the players were unbelievably spewy. Its also the main reason for having this bankroll so I can jump into live games at will, so why not take a shot.

Mostly I'm just joshin to get through the painfully nitty early-week games and make myself play them, for experience and volume.

Unfortunately the nature of the 6max SNG structure favours nittiness and they can suck quite a bit of value from the games with relatively little strategy/skill, but the flip side is their end game is usually lacking aggressiveness or they make pretty bad ICM calls, so this is a pretty big edge to be giving up.
