Ok monthly update:

Just played last few days. Tried to put in a decent amount of hands. Things are going well. Im running well so far.

Had a fish today who took me for like 4 buyins before i started winning it all back. By the end of our 800 hands, when I finally busted him for his initial buyin, I was down 7$ and he had lost 100$. Damn rake!

What's the avg salary there?

Average salary is around 200-400$ per month for people without a degree. If you have a degree you can get jobs that pay 500-1000$ per month.

Bargirls in gogo bars depending on city can make between 800$ and 3000$ a month. Girls who work in gogo bars in Pattaya usually make the most I would estimate. It's all business there, whereas in Chiang Mai, the girls are more friendly and money isnt the only thing on their mind (altho close to it).

You can't let yourself get fooled by the bargirls here. My roommate usually says that you cant believe 90% of what a thai girl tells you. Even tho that's a little extreme, in some ways hes right.

I remember when I used to go to Spicy a lot(that club where the bargirls usually go after work). I always used to see this really pretty dark skinned girl. One day we started talking. Her name was Reya. Instantly we hit it off and I really liked how she was. Confident yet feminine.

I ended up bringing her back to my room etc. She was nice, very chatty and quite good in bed. She also insisted i use a condom but the sex was good none the less. On her stomach i could tell from the skin she had kids. The next day she invited me to come eat with her.

So even tho I was super hungover, I went out to some restaurant in the red light district which was in a hotel, where she stayed. I wondered why she lived in an expensive hotel and she told me that she was only here a couple of weeks at a time because she traded rice.

So the afternoon went by, and we were already drinking again. Chatting to the main host of the restaurant. Reya knew him because she had been living at this hotel for a while now. We were really the only people there so we could be loud and have a good time.

She also took out some piece of paper and started putting down some numbers etc as if she was working. As the afternoon progressed I started buying into all this, because she was so good with the details. Besides, it didnt hurt me to believe her. After all, I was having a good time with her. She was a very chatty type so she kept me quite entertained.

As the evening came upon us she paid the bill at the hotel and invited me to come eat with her at an expensive restaurant close by. We went there and met up with some other friends of hers, about 4 of them. Some looked like bargirls and some didnt. I was quite confused lol.

But as Reya got more and more drunk she became more and more annoying. Flirting with the owner of the restaurant etc. This was a true alpha female. She was dominating the group and kept repeating how she was going to pay for everyone. But how did she manage to have so much money and pay for everyone? I thought to myself.

I had only been in Chiang Mai for about 3-4 months at this point and I guess was still a little naive in some aspects of it. As we walked into the bar, it dawned upon me and my friend Ben who came to meet up with me confirmed it. The reason she had so much money was because she had a sponsor. Some poor guy, who thought he was in a relationship with her but had to go back to his own country to work etc, who was sending her money! Just like in that book Private Dancer.

In fact she probably had more than one sponsor, the amount she was spending most likely every day. She had just paid for our drinks at a hotel and paid for 6 people to eat at one of the best restaurants in Chiang Mai.

So as we are sitting their in the bar and Im in my drunken haze trying to figure things out, my friend Ben walks in and I tell him my experience and he instantly nods recognizing that of course she probably just had a sponsor or three.

As we are sitting there talking, Reya is sitting with her friends and some dude beside her. The dude obv thinks she is working in the bar and is flirting with her. her flirting back with him. I felt like a huge vagina.

I tell her to come sit with me but she shook her head. This whole evening after she got super drunk she had been a pain in the ass and now was making me look like a huge tool/pussy. I had had enough. Me and Ben walked outta the bar to go to another bar close by, that was owned by a fellow danish guy. As Reya saw that I was leaving she ran after me to stop me. I had had enough by now and just wanted to chill with Ben and maybe talk to some girls who weren't going to tell me their fake life story.

So I told her to bugger off and kept walking. 10 min later she came to the other bar crying and ****, making a stupid scene, so I had to kinda comfort her but told her that I'd just talk to her later. She went back and as she went back, the staff at the danish bar who knew Ben quite well, confirmed that she worked at the other bar we just came from.

I didn't meet up with Reya again.

I've met her a couple of times since then, but she doesnt come to Spicy every night like she used to back in the day. One time I met her when I was trying to lose a lot of weight and when she was saw me she musta thought I had HIV or something lol. Especially since I just told her that I had been sick when she asked why i was so thin lol.

Ive bumped into her friend a few times, who was there with us at the restaurant that night and she told me the other day that she is getting married soon.

I dont have a pic of her, but this girl looks very similar to Reya, altho Reya is older.
