so from now until September i want to follow a strict bankroll management system. Im up a decent amount this year, nothing to brag about though, but recently i had to cash out to pay some bills and havent been playing much in the past 2 weeks since i cashed it all out.

I decided to play with the $500 ill be getting in rakeback next week. my plan is to start at 10nl with 50 buy ins and play 6max cash until i hit $1250, which will be 50 buy ins for 25nl and drop back down to 10nl if my roll ever gets below $750, my goal is to hit $2500 by Sept. in order to have 50 buy ins for 50nl, if i come up short so be it as long as i make like $1500 ill be happy. note: i usually play 2-4 tables for around 5 hours a day 7 days a week, roughly.

Do you guys think this bankroll management is too nitty? i usually do 20 buy ins but i feel like i lack discipline and im really doing this to prove a point to myself that i can practice bankroll management and not go broke. FYI i was playing 50nl with like 25 buy ins last month thats how i got all the rakeback.

any advice you guys have for me would be appreciated, thanks alot.

keep in mind this is more of a longterm goal thing and i never want to redeposit again! i find myself always losing like 5-10 buy ins and freaking out and cashing out my winnings, i want to feel secure and never cash out after a losing session/week

Just me but 50 buy ins seems like a lot. Also playing 5hr a day 4-2 tables at a time to make 2k seems like a huge drag. Good luck thought and I think It should be pretty easy to do and lower stress with 50buyins I do 20buyin and drop when I hit 15 buyin a little more stressfull but Never go broke and have been able to take shots at 100nl and 50nl is where I am right now with ease. Good luck!

It's not too nitty, but it'll take forever to win $750 at NL10 6max because of the rake.

i think u are spot on here with this BRM strategy. if u never want to deposit again, this is the correct way about it. if u are playing ur A game or u find ur confidence is on a real high, dont be afraid to take shots, but all in all i like ur line here.

atm im playing 5nl-10nl on a $650 BR, i want to beat every level before moving up, and learning the lessons each level has to teach. so maybe or stategies are similar, we both want to grind a decent sized roll, but with the least risk possible and a nice comfort zone to play in. i find it really reduces tilt too.

yeah, i mean i've been there done that. i used to do exactly what you do and make decent money doing it at 25nl and taking shots at 50nl with $1,000 dropping down when i hit $750 and i kept cashing out my profits whenever i got over like $1500. i guess i kinda want to just do it as a test for myself, i know its prolly not the best way to make the most money, but it will guarentee me from going broke and not cashing out, i want to slowly build it.

thanks for all the advice so far everyone. keep it coming.

maybe i can take shots at 25nl when i hit $1000? and drop back down when i hit like $750, i dunno. cuz i do agree its gonna take me a while to make $750 just playing 10nl. fyi i am a long term winning player at 25nl and 50nl, so it prob wont take me as long as someone who is just starting out at 10nl for the first time.

if you can beat 10NL (as it seems you do) this brm is pretty good, I've heard 25NL is a lot tougher, but taking a shot like you do seems to be fine

50 BI is sort of ridiculous, especially at these stakes. I know many say 20, but I feel a 30 BI rule where you drop down at 20-25 BI is optimal if you want good brm -- it gives plenty of room for any mild swings and you'll never go broke. $750 is more than enough to roll yourself for 25nl especially if you're a long term winner. Just my 2 cents.

yeah maybe im being a bit rediculous with the 50 buy ins lol.

has anyone else ever used this many buy ins for the micros? im interested to here from some nitty bankroll people. also i play a Lagish game so i guess i tend to need more.

i kinda like duncelanas's idea for the 30 buy ins and drop down when i hit 20 buy ins, i may try that when i hit $750 and i would move up to 25nl then i'd drop back down to 10nl if i ever got below $500. that only gives me 10 buy ins to really work with until i have to drop down though...

I started straight at 25NL with a $600 deposit on FTP. Coupled with the first deposit bonus and rakeback, as long as you are playing a solid TAG game, you should be able to take the variance. IMO, one can never be too nitty in terms of BRM. You can always use the surplus to get some coaching so that you'll be ready for the next level.
