to date i have been a predominantly cash game player on ftp, but recently got onto stars to play with some poker friends from another online poker community - riu.

havent had much success on the site with the exception of my recent success satting my way into the aussie millions main event- my goals are all surrounding preparation for the event in january 2015 as im a terrible mtt player

my goals are:

- play at least 100 mtt's per week
- read a poker book a week
- review hand histories at the end of every session
- study the tournament structure and create a game plan
- get good enough results in mtt's to sell some of my action
- become active on 2p2 mtt forum discussions
- MOST IMPORTANTLY be that guy- the guy that turned fpp's into a 1.6 million dollar score so i can drop the ****ty degree i hate and do something i will actually enjoy for the foreseeable future.

Good luck my only problem with ur goals is the reading a poker book a week. It may sound good to study that much but different books have different concepts and trying to apply them all in such a short time won't work out well. What U should do is read a book apply the concepts and then review ur HH and even retread parts of the book that u might be lacking.

sounds like sensible advice - taken under advisement.

Yeah +1 to the one book advice, don't get too many different game plans at once. Though if you find a book that deals with modern MTT strategy well, let me know.

Cliffs on hellmuths book

- most of it is about limit hold em iirc
- book sucks

thanks guys,
debacle - you should try to sat in, the $22 tournament had literally 70% of the field sitting out because they all got in with fpp sats then about 50% of the 200+r was players from the 22 dollar sat.
do either of you have any idea which site would have the best material on mtt's? i used to be on bluefire poker but didnt renew my membership there.

Haha, sick! That would be a real cheap way in.

As far as good sites for MTT content goes, I can't give an official recommendation as I have not checked the site out too much, but I have heard good things about Tournament Poker Edge.

http://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/

You might have better luck browsing through the MTT subforums on 2+2 to see what training sites others have used, and of course you can always pony up the cash for coaching
