ascension ascension

I am obviously not an english native speaker.
I'm here to tell my tales.
Sometimes I will also talk about other things or post graphs.
I will not discuss poker strategy here.
Anyway, gather around children, listen!

ACT I - the battles of 500 men:

"The Morlu were once men, great warriors of old. But each of them had darkness within his soul, and Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, used this flaw to trick them into his service. Mephisto's fury slowly burned away their mortal forms, leaving them fiery apparitions who know no pain, fear, or doubt."
- Deckard Cain

The Pits:
I was watching them die. I was afraid. I wasn't ready.
I heard a gargling sound, and while another one of the Morlus went down only one was left standing.
Morlu are ram-masked and revel in bloodshed, their bloodthirstiness rivaling that of demons.
My master has told me about them, how he fought them during the sin wars and how they will shape me in what I need to be in their presence.
Or die trying.
It wasn't easy to get here. For months I have trained with the Triune, faked my loyality, pretended to be an aspirant willing to sacrifice myself for the Prime Evils.
After months I have finally found the entrance to one of the best kept secrets of the Triune. The Morlu Pit.
The last standing Morlu howled to the top of his lungs. He wanted more. More violence, more bloodshed, more meat beneath his hammer. Another life to take.
It was at this moment, that I witnessed it the first time.
The red-hot lava flowed sluggishly but now, just for a couple of seconds, seemed to flow even slower. The shadows just seemed to be a a little more blurrier than usually. The corpses, of what must have been hundreds of Morlu, started to forget that they were dead, scattered all over this cave which looked more like every imagination of hell I ever had.
A black stone in the middle of the pit grabbed my attention. I couldn't help but stare at it while it started to glow without colour, filtering anything that might be good in this pit and turning it into dark energy. Slashed body parts started to move. Cut off heads, smashed bones and cut tendons started to move where they probably belonged minutes or hours ago. Bodies reformed. All the dead Morlu resurrected.
Well not really. If you were there you would have been able to see the cuts and injuries all over their bodies. Their eyes weren't those of men who are alive. You would be able to feel that dark magic is their only source of life now.
This was their training ground, battle until death to get resurrected and do it over and over and over again. Those are the Morlu. Fighting to eternity until their master calls for his army.
And my master thought it would be a good idea to step between them. A last trial to see if I am worthy?
Let alone all of the risks I took to get here, let alone that this cave underneath the temple of the triune has the sole purpose to not let me leave alive. I will fail, because failing is everything humanity has ever been good at.
I inhaled deeply and prepared myself for my last battle. If I fail, I will fail with honour. If I die, I will die with dignity. I won't die a coward, I will die with my head held high. I will slay the king or at least die trying.
Or at least die trying.
I stepped out into the ring. Most Morlu were back assembled now and all of them looked at me. I didn't belong here. Not until they have killed me a thousand times to make me one of them.
They might fight here for all of eternity, but I will give them the longest fight of their lifetime. I will not give up.
The Morlu started running towards me.
