Oi mates!

Goal: Expedition capable rv.
Challenge: Accumulate enough poker winnings to cover the cost.

Price New: 600.000€ <> 1.200.000€
Price Used: ~300.000€ or more for a good one.

I am aiming to build (out-sourcing work when required) one for 100.000€ and there is room to go over that (50.000€) without before the price is too high for my financial situation.

This is a HUGE project for me. So big that I have to break it down into steps. This project is more or less connected to every aspect of my life. I pushing forward on two fonts. I plan to upgrade my car, station wagon, to be more accommodating on trips. This enables me to travel while project is underway and help me find out (in greater detail) what is needed.

Cheers

Here is a sample pictures from bespoke/ custom build expedition camper.

I play perhaps 80% live poker. I would say that while I rank myself as average or slightly better.. my strength is that I am familiar with few games beside standard texas-/omaha holdem. While I deeply dislike limitgames. I do like potlimit games and I play nolimit when need be (since it is the dominat form). I have zero experience on spread limit games .. they might be interesting option.
Nolimit is a nice format IF the stacks are deep.. standar stacks seem to be 25-100bb.

Swings.. nice for children, not so for poker..

I guess I have both optimistic and pessimistic dependence... I play with a very low bankroll and I can play with extremely low bankroll if I deem that the situation warrants it.

I have noticed a tendency of what I have started to refer as 'battle fatigue' that manifests after a moderate time without cards, missed flops and tough games. Our local casino is a moderate distance of 15 miles away.. Table selection options are extremly limited. Waiting lists for other than smallest NLHE move very slowly so this means that being at casino early on is advisable.

The result is that after the drive and quite a bit of waiting one can find oneself in a fairly solid table. Now i estimate that I can play break even game in this type of environment (with option for +ev if table receives softer player later on).

I have been tasting the bitter end of the game during last three or so weeks. My preferred game type has not been opened for a long time yet there is a small comfort that half and half PL Texas/Omaha has been open (giving deeper stacks). Quite often players try to enforce a live straddle (shorten stacks and bakes game bigger).. I accepted this the first time (ending in losing session) .. since I have opted to resist the peer pressure at the cost of miser reputation. Throw in my favorite game and I am in for straddle.. changing the game type is not a realistic option thou.

Highlights for the past three to four weeks:
1 significant bluff catch (hard to say how many times I was bluffed)
1 / 4 success/fail significant bluff / re-steals
2 or 3 badly played hands
2 / 6 success / fail on big race situations where I have + value to take down the pot

Yesterday (there was a better than average chance of getting DC open – failure still) I allowed myself to be drawn to 10-10 NLHE. Key factors were that our table was dying, there were two big and loose stacks at the table and I liked the available seat. Now the bad news was that I was under a bit of battle fatigue yet I estimated that bigger game would counter that. Fast forward an hour or so and we are close to the closing time. Good player makes a small raise in early position to a straddled pot. Folded to me on button with A(s)Jo I call and the lose players fold (bummer).

Flop comes 3 6 8 with two spades he bets 200 to a pot of 150-220 (I cant remember exactly). Now I shove my 1k to the pot (he has ~900 behind). My plan was to represent QQ,KK,AK with option of having some outs agains calling hands. I was crushed against his AA.. I have bit mixed feelings about that hand.. One good play would have been to fold pf. Calling seemed bad option since there would be too much cash on pot on turn and too few good bluff opportunities. Was I on right track or do I invite disaster each time I take that line?

PS.
I have to figure out where to post future pics so I can link them here.
Please PM tips on cash games in Norway – Lofoten/Kvaloya(Tromsa) – I am heading that way in June.

I was forced to play 2,2 NLHE with 25-100BB buy in while waiting for more desirable game. I decided to try short stack play. On two evenings (perhaps total 9 h) I quit the games with tiny bit ahead and some sklansky bucks for moral support.

Two nights ago I ran into a odd mishap at tables. We were playing half and half plo plhe 2,2.I shoved on flop with top set and got called by two. Turn filled the flush. ”we are all in at this end of the table” said player to my right ”hmm?” I thought as I checked his stack (no stack) and pot (no split pot) while river was dealt. As last aggressor I flipped my hand open as someone at the table said ”there is still money to be played” ”What?” echoed through my mind as I re-checked the situation with my hand face up on table. The player on my right still had few chip which equaled smallish amount in cash. He explained that he had checked his stack and found it to be empty WHILE he was oblivious to the fact that he still had few chips on his hand.

So my face up there was a short silence after (in slightly apologetic tone) the mishap was explained. The third player broke to silence with ”Is check ok with you?” - it was and the third player took the pot down with K high flush. ”I did not want to take your last chips” he said to the guy on my right.

While I am very (not 100%) certain that this was honest mishap and not an agleshot it did change the dynamics of the hand quite a bit.

Bank roll status: Lime green
Project: Fridge – arrived, Charger – arrived, battery – not selected, not ordered, Installation – Not selected, not ordered.
Fridge is 100% compatible with the truck version of the camper so that is good thing. With charger I am not certain if the lorry will be using 12v or 24v so that is bit of a gray area.

Keep on keeping on

Visited our local casino again with poor results

5*money in on flop, ~standard coin flips ; 4*plo, 1*5,5nhle ; lost all.. standard
1* plo 3way pf AI pot with ATsKQc .. seemed plausible but I ended up having the worst end of the deal.. both flush draws were alive.. standard

bankroll status.. orange.. running dangerously close to first reality check level. Time to fall back, regroup and re-evaluate on how to proceed.

Updates..

I have taken a step back from poker. Couple of weeks ago I did visit our local casino again. As said in previous post I am running low on BR. I have taken a small chunk away to be used A) on equipment or B) BR on visiting casinos on trips.

half and half 2/2 is best game available. (omaha or texas are alternatives). I sit in with 200... several hour of boring folding and few small pots after.. I get KK ~utg +1 in straddled pot.. I raise to ~16 .. folded to button who re-raises to 70 or 80.. I think a bit and curse under my breath.. I shove for total of ~220 .. now villains stars to curse and makes a crying call .. Board runs TJA9x no flush, cant recall order.. I show my KK and villain mucks (QQ?).

shortly after I see a cheapish flop with k9 type of hand (texas again, straddled) .. 3 players see flop of k95 (two hearts) .. check, I bet small 12 call and first player calls too.. turn 2c (no second fd) .. first player donks 60.. I am bit at loss here because I cant see how the 2 would help either.. slow played sets? 22? I call after I am clearly not happy with the bet.. Now the third.. lag player re-raises to ~300 .. after a short while the first player mucks.. Again.. I am not happy but I am inclined to put villain2 on squeeze play .. I shove for ~250 more and villain2 starts shaking his head and cursing.. He makes the call.. he is on flush draw and my top two pairs is ahead.. river is hearts and pot is shipped his way.. standard -- daimit. I exit the table down my original 200. .. I hope I have something else than bad beat storied to tell soon...

Camper:
I have not managed to secure a cheapish & ok installation for electrics for my car so I am going down on plan B for the summer. I have bought a 700w generator to charge batteries (&power fridge at same time) .. better charger & batteries are still to be bought & installed.

Roof rack is starting to form.. trouble is that key material is stored 150km away so I get to install that only as I start traveling Northward.. Going to pick up some nuts and bolts to help the process..

I tinted the windows of my car only to find out that there was not enough film in the tube.. bugger me for not measuring it correctly.. I now have a second roll waiting.. different brand..

General:
Found a support for my knee & combination of painkillers that seem to do the trick so outlook for active vacation is moderately promising..

Oi Mates!
I took a small break from the tables due to diminished BR. I returned to the tables NLHE 2,2 50-200 bin. I did manage three sessions with small positive return.

I met a friend in down town with intention to visit casino again once we parted our ways. I had forgotten that tournament week was running at casino which meant that games started from 5,5 . I was presented with dilemma. DC (which I prefer) was likely to open.. Game was high stakes for my BR. I decided to put my name on list and see what the table would look like.

The table seemed good .. I had to reload few times but ended up with good profit on first night. Second night was as good or even better. Third night the table was nice (nice < good) and it turned into dry game. While I ended up with marginal positive results althou I did double up a new player in 7CS – down 500.

Villain (XX)8K , me (9A)A7 as money went in (one 8 dead, my cards were alive) neiter was flushing. He had K88K for two pairs which turned to kings full, I did not improve. Situation was basically a coinflip so it would have been correct to put the money in if we played with open cards.

On fourth day (in row) the table was solid. I did play tight and managed to pull ahead a bit. I did ponder about quitting the table but I was not able to execute this action. I kept telling myself that I will be ok as I will play tight. I had driven all the way down here so I should play (in hope that the table will improve) The table did not improve and I ended up putting my chips in on flop (omaha5) with worst of it. The spot was bit tricky as short stack pushed in in front of me (mistake to pay with my hand) and third player shoved in after me .. I should have made a crying fold here.. but failed.. I exited right after that hand having lost my winnings for the day and 400 I had bought in.

I caught a case of summer cold from casino so I have stayed home for few days trying to recover. There is a user meeting of our local forum tomorrow and I plan to join (and likely visit casino also).

I am concerned that I have failed to leave table on two occasions where I estimated my chances as slim at best. On one instance many of the regulars followed a player to another table as soon as he changed the table.. so at least I was not the reason for them to stay. I have to build a more discipline regarding exiting the table.

Bankroll status: up from orange to green

Camper: Fridge/freezer, battery, generator, charger in car and ready for action. I installed a shelve in the trunk of my station wagon (to ease packing and accessing items) only to realize that the shelve now blocks the fridges path out. Windows still only partly tinted.

quick update:
Last day of the tournament week (I will not and had no intention to visit the casino on Sunday) was really bad for me result wise. DC table looked nice but it was already running with waiting list when I showed up at casino at standard 'early' time..

This pushed me to playing NLHE and PLO .. I estimated that I had some value in playing these tables.. cards were not running for me today although I got to DC table after ~5 hours wait on other tables ... several big flip went for villains. draws did not hit .. exept in bad ways.. 5C omaha.. Villain has A-high fd on flop, flush on turn - I have top set on flop.. I river full house.. I bet and villain raises.. I puke a little inside as I call only to face my second quads to beet my top full house..

I did run one big river bluff which failed.. on hind sight I could have just given up.. I had the mistaken view of the villain that he might fold as I represented hitting my obvious draw in 7CS. Either he read me correctly but he said he was calling the river 100% of times.

I managed to blow um my previous winnings do bankroll status is back down to orange.

No poker, about roaming free..

Trip to Norway is over. bit over three week trip with ~two week at destination. IF I had a supernova elite status this would have been my vacation month and next trip would drop me down.. as I reckoned.. no real reason to push myself to gain it only to loose it right away..

I had a BIG load on my roof. This affected my fuel economy by 10% to 15%. 10% is my best estimate and 15% is "it is less than this". Driven at ~80 kmph, no aircon, closed windows. It seemed (obviously) that higher top speed might have been culprint for worse fuel economy.

I banged my heal while climbing which forced me to skip two sunny days, one to check that bone is intact and one for rest before venturing for easy cliffs again. Bad beat of the trip was that my tent (a very good tent and very expensive one) got a small hole torn to it by strong wind (just stong, not heavy nor gale force).

I did enjoy several days of climbing (easy routes). Longest one was about 110m of climbing which I ascended twice - and actually climbed up four times as I was climbing alone and securing myself with rope. This was the route I banged my heel on first ascent.

Fridge worked fine.. dashing from tent to car and back is more of an inconvenience than I estimated. Next step is to improve cooking facilities.. Large and light shelter will be required due to wind and (light)rain.. I am against using flame within my (primary)tent due to risk of accidentally burning the tent.

grr.. just wrote an entry which got sucked into the void new try..

Autumn is settling in here and that means more time for poker. In past weeks I have visited our casino few times. NLHE250 are ~break even for 4 evenings during last 3 weeks.

Last night dc got open. There were a long list of players on waiting list.. many turned the table down .. we finally started the game three handed. Later more players joined and left and joined again.

Mental notes.. I guess I will have to start practicing my sales pitch about DC for omaha players. 85% of the hands played are omaha variants .. one can fold all but premium hand in other games without too much loss.

one mildly interesting hand.

hero has nitty, perhaps bit weak image.
Villain seems regular without major tendences.

effective stacks ~280

folded to Villain in SB who pumps it up from 2,5 to 7,5€
Hero has AKs in BB and raises to 21. villain calls.

Flop: (42) K83r. Villain checks and hero bets 10. villain calls.
This is a dry flop and I feel my TP is leading here. Not a free card but many weaker hands will call this.

Turn (62) A r Villain checks and hero bets 10. villain calls. Ok, major improvement for me, good chance that villain has pair, perhaps two pairs now. Call still indicated something with showdown value.

Rivwer (82) blanko.. perhaps it was a 5? Villain checks and hero bets 50. villain raises to 100.
I have been trapping villain. While I am bit surprised about this raise, it is within my plan to extract value from weaker hands. I call.

Comments? standard? weak?
Spoiler:
Villain shows pocket 88 for a flopped set. Looks like we were both trapping each other. I like my play as I think I will get value from weaker hands and keep my losses acceptable in this kind of spots. I lost about half of my stack

I opted to show my hand to solidify my image. general feel was that all the chips would easily go into the pot on each and every street. My villain commented that he did not put me on such a strong hand.

I am looking for a brompton folding bike for myself. I am still sitting of fence with 2 or 6 speed variant thou I am starting to lean towards 6 speed. I would like H handlebar but I think I might accept M as there are more M bikes out there on second hand market. H has more upright riding position ~60mm difference on the height of handlebars.

Do people have comments on these options?

I am 189cm and ~88kg. The bike would be for cruising in (foreign) cities so 3 to 5 km rides (one way).. I think 7km rides would be rare and I would rather ride to public transport and then to destination.

How well dose the bike function as a trolley with just rear mud guards versus with rear rack? (eazy weals option assumed). as I understand the bike (in trolley configuration) would be pulled on single wheal on rear mud guard. I imagine this would make it less stable. Anyone have first hand insight to this?

Our casino had changed the procedure regarding situation where player acts out of turn.

Previously if player bet out of turn the money was 'committed' ie. player could not get it back. Player whose turn it was could check (knowing that the bet would stand), or bet (knowing that the other player had already paid xx and could fold and loose xx or pay or raise)

Now the procedure depends on if the pot is heads up or multiway.

Now cue in music as events unfold..
Hero is seen as Tight player and some see him as bit weak.
v1 ~90
hero ~120
v2 200+ covers us both

1/1 nlhe, straddled & limped pot with ~6 players

we see flop 5c 2h 8c (pot ~14)

checked to hero (2nd or 3rd to act) but player behind announces bet of 12 (v1)
Dealer notes that hero has actions, hero asks for his options and they are explained. Hero goes into tank for 1-2 min.

IF hero checks the player who bet out of turn is forced to check.
IF hero bets, player gets money back and all options are open.
(hmm.. I forgot to ask what happens if hero fold .. I guess it equals check)
Hero has pocket 55 for mid set in draw heavy board in multiway pot

I put ~5% chance that the player is hoping to get a free card..
I bet very light ~5 to induce a raise and still charge something for the turn card..

Heros bet is raised to ~22 .. next player tilts and curses hero under his bet for opening the door for betting and not taking the free card (folds).. fold to v2 on heros right who joins the pot -call (loose good player) so three player in pot when action get back to hero..

Hero goes all in, v1 also and v2 starts muttering and goes all in.

Villains have ~8 clean outs total and hero has redraw for a full house.
V2 hits streight on river and takes ~300bb pot

Aftermath.. V2 misremembered his cards and was drawing really thin.. He was also little bit agitated by the actions&procedure regarding this incident so they likely contributed to his not checking his card & calling the flop action.

Current ruling is bit weird IMHO and there is little (=no) penalty for acting out of turn. Repeated offenders might get something..

Toughts? How these situations would be handled on your casinos?

Our Bad beat jackpot has grown bit larger than average so heat is spreading among local players.. I will go off to hunt it again today.. Plan is to play 5 days /week..

slow evening..

I took a small side bet regarding BBJP with another reg. He says it will be triggered in two weeks (by 17th Oct. 20:44 local time). I guess I am slipping toward degenerate gambler.

There is a quite interesting problem here. We have a specific event with low probability that is the triggering event. We have limited data on historical values of BBJP which gives us rough estimate about the likelihood.

Now I have a fairly good grasp of math yet I lack a bit on the statistic side of things. Can anyone post a link on how to estimate probabilities based on number of iterations needed for triggering. Or how to calculate probabilities/ confidence intervals on event being triggered withing n iterations?
---
We have an event that is triggered at probability of P. P is around 1 in 10 000 - 60 000.
We have history data on when the event has been triggered. min = 1000 iterations after previous .. Max is 65000 after previous.. 15 000 to 34 000 would be fairly average.

Now I am wondering if there are mathematical/statistical tools that would help me to get a better estimate on the actual probability of the event and how the cumulative likelyhood behaves as we inspect a bundle of 1000 , 5000 or 20000 or 100 000 iterations.
---

I managed to leave the dry tables and headed home long before closing time. Yay me!

Not so good morning all.

Bit of a devastating night.. Financially break event thou..

I started at 2,5; 2,5€ nlhe and grinded up a bit..

Then Dealers Choice table opened and I moved. As I was up and I changed from NL to PL I bought pocketed almost all of my original buyin..

During 3 hours I build up my stack.. seat opens 2 to my left. i know there is a well know solid pro next in line so I hop seat.

1,5h-2h more.. I build up slowly and I am sitting with ~1,3k some of the players are leaving and others are arriving. Table is tougher so I decide to stay and play cautiously.

I play a hand against semi-ok <> ok player. 7CS .. he rivers a well hidden J high flush against my already made T high flush. (I charged him to draw .. still felt bit bad).. Down ~400e

shortly later I get involved in another 7CS had with the known pro (he covers me)
3rd st. he rases with As door, I call with mid c door (Qc Tc) hole.
Kc has been folded, both s and c draws are in good shape. both of our door cards are alive.

4th st..
he has As small s showing
I have Ac mid c showing
he bets standard (more than 2/3 pot, less than pot), I call

5th street.
both flushes are filled.
he bets bot (95e), I raise 200e (~min), he pauses and thinks and bets all, I call

I say "if you have it, you got it, lets go (== all in/ call)"
I have a AQT flush agains Ax flush, A high two pairs (AA xx), unlikely AAA, big poket pair and a flush draw, perhaps medium trips made on 4th street?
he says "I guess I am in bad shape"

6th street is a blank for both
7th street is dealt face down..

I table my AQ flush..
he tables AK flush with a smirking tone " oh, I was so luck to hit the river" (= I am 99% certain that he had it when money went in and he knew that my K was dead == he had nuts and I had 0 outs)

I guess he was still holding a grudge/reason to twist the knive a bit for a hand several months ago where i outplayed him to put money in with worse hand in 3 way pot. Another player hand reminded him about it during our session.. that player had left the table.

This pro has said (publicly) that slow rollers are to burn in hell. I agree that slow rolling is of poor etiquette and I reserve it for the few selected..

So the player is now on my very short list of players to slowroll.

With 20/20 hindsight I should have exited the table as few players left and new arrived. perhapse even when the known pro arrived..

I fell to the trap of
"I will play cautiously and significant pots with good hands - Yes, I can do this"
This is one of my weaknesses.. I am trying to focus on this.. perhaps I will have to put harder limits on my exits..

I ended up with two coolers. What really annoys me was that felting me for 1800€ pot was not enough for him.. he had to give me hope only to crush it.

To be crystal clear, he did turn his hand up in fairly speedy manner so slow rolling refers only to giving false hope after all the chips are in.

update..

regarding the 7cs hand.. The pro posted a notes regarding that hand to a local forum.
He claims that he had J high flush on 5th street and rivered aK high flush..

While the words sounded like he had the AK made by 5th.. Him posting that on the forum give a serious benefit of a doubt for him (that he indeed rivered it == no slow rolling)

Mixed feelings..

so.. shortly after replay from previous night.. I build up my stack slowly from 300 to around 800.. There is a fair flux of people.. Including the finnish pro from previous 7cs hands.

I have position on him and table has value for me so I continue.. (mistake)

after 2 or 3 orbits I get the button (ok, this is a major weakness in the game for me.. AS I wait for UTG position for exit I get TEMPTED to 'just play the blinds and you get 7CS - the poison of your choice' .. Yes, I am weak in this regard...

so another game of 7CS..
Pro (covers all) raises pot agains me and blinds with Kd showing.
I call with 9h showing with draw.
blinds fold.

pro gets Ad for (XX)Kd,Ad
I get (XX)9h,Qs
pro bets, I call (putting him for flush draw)

Pro (XX)Kd,Ad,5s checks and calls
I (XX)9h,Qs,9c bet pot (semi bluf)

Pro (XX)Kd,Ad,5s,Kc checks and calls
I (XX)9h,Qs,9c,Qh Shove almost pot (semibluf)

I miss my draws and pro shows pocket AA for AAAKK (AAA for 4th street and AAAKK for 6th street).. no wonder he was check calling.. too bad I got a had to semibluf.. weaker hands I might have pushed him off..

I anouce 'free seat' and go to change the 200 I had for reload and go home reviewing the evening. I had good reasons to play as I played, small bit of ego did edeged its way into my reasoning (bad).. bigger weakness was that I played when I should have exited the table. As this has happened to me before .. I have to admit I have a issue with that and really start focusing on this.

Yesterday.. I played NLHE .. I made one bold and good call and one good & successfull bluf

We are about 130bb deep,
Hero is seen as solid(perhaps also as weak), tight player. wearing jeans and hooded(not on as against rules) college jacket.

Folded to sb who bets 5bb
I call

Flop KT5r (pot 10bb)
sb bets 4bb, I call

Turn (pot 18bb) KT5Q two clubs
sb bets 4bb, I call

River
(pot 26bb) KT5QA three clubs
sb bets 24bb
Hero has a pair of Q (I think Q was club- not certain) and goes into tank.

I call
SB ' ok, your flush is good?'
hero 'no flush, just pair' showing Q9o
SB ' well that is good too' showing 98o for air

comments form table ' that can be defined as a _call_'
nice confidence boost.

As time goes buy I build up my stack (100 >> 630), Few players leave. I play couple of orbits partly for courtesy, partly to view players who enter. I do not see value in the table anymore. one other player comments 'well the table is rockier now'. That seals the deal for me. As I fold utg+1 and utg+2 folds too.. I ask him to change chips as I am leaving. He complies.

I pick up
Spoiler:
AJo
on the utg.. good, yet not great hand..
I raise to 2bb.. folded to HJ who rasies to 24bb.. folded to me..
the big raise put me into go/nogo situation.
As I have just announced that I am about to leave I would guess that table will put me on bigger hand than they otherwise would. Aslo it dose make me more likely to fold marginal hands.
I decide that fold is best and fold.
I do wonder if it was worth while to try to see flop with that hand from that position in that situation. perhaps a small leak..

I am happy about my early exit which put me on black (+200) for the last three sessions.

What kind of a licence is needed in USA if one wishes to drive a heavy vehicle (=fire truck)? For Private/ personal use .. not commercial or transportation business.

Camper, 4 wheels, vehicle weight 9000kg or ~17500 lbs. What is the term/name for the licence that enables one to drive such (and what is the term for regular licence?) ... if there is a difference?

Here one can drive whicles up to 3500kg or ~6500lbs with "B" class driverslicence. To drive heavier one needs "C" class licence.

I tried to look at DMV and google but this info eludes me.. if there is a distinction by weight in USA.

PS up 590 last night in DC. BG on light green status but still shy from all time high (ATH/ super green)

Cliffnotes: down 500, up that and onece more next day.
frustration exit worth 80 that could have been saved.
exited while up on second day.. I did play 1-2h with 400+bb risking swings while evaluating new players.
Tested OFC for 10 hands. 1* two player in wonderland, 1* one player in wonderland. down 100p. Total cost of testing ~70€.

I got a seat to omaha. 40bb min (one 20bb rebuy allowed) I bought in shortish.

up a bit.. got ai with good draw (+ev), missed. rebuy .. fast forward few hours I win a substantial pot which put me to break-even ground. I have ~200bb in front of me, brm says it is time to leave. I put my name on tx nl list.

I played for one orbit and lost a bit.

Partly I played because I (for some reason) do not like to exit immediately after scooping a pot. Partly because I was in the blinds as I won the pot > tighten up & play the hands till bb is about to hit you.

I lost one short buyin in texas when I got a good spot for a semibluf shove pf. One called me with trash because it was such a low amount to call. he won with 9 high (97o). I did not manage to take advantage of my now lose/bluffy image.

close to ATH (all time high) so definetly green.. dare I say.. British racing green?

I will take a trip that is ~50% poker orientated.
Goals:
(1) break even on poker ... neutral.. least I took my shot
(2) break even after travel& acc. expences ... hmm.. nice yet nothing to write home about.
(3) previous(2) + next trip expences .. yes!!.. I can do this..
(4) previous(3) + win equal to my roll (50% to roll, 50% towards goal purchases) .. YES!!

I have been perplexed regarding a brompton folding bike.

It is a really nifty piece of work. just few major drawbacks..

1) while they offer super light versions the delivery time is from half a year to eternity.
2) they cost an arm and a leg

I passed a commitment point and mailed an order to our local dealer.. (after I found one to my liking abroad) but failed to secure the deal as they could not reserve the bike for me to travel there and pick it up.. and it was gone as I checked the status.

so I have just ordered (if they accept the order) some promise-ware and can expect suspension (will I get it before summer).

I did exchange cash for my trip & played a short session.

Omaha table opened up with potentially 4 players.. one quit and I was about to bandon my seat. I noticed that there were two players listed for DC and one responded with nod to my inquiry about their interest.

So we have dc open.. yay me!!

I buy in fairly short .. I lose it in omaha with KKxx in multiway pot.
re-load, I build my stack up and I thinki I peak ~500. I slide down a bit while table becomes short handed. I decide it is time to exit and secure a modest profit of 250.

YAY MEE for exiting the table against temptation (another player who choose 7cs).

While I am not 100% certain .. I think ... ATH!! .. SUPER GREEN... SUPER GREEN!!!

My roll is now ~10k usd
I will be faced with a hard dilemma regarding the size of game to play on my trip. While I am well rolled for 1/2 or 1/3, I have heard that rake makes these bit hard to play. 5/10 with 1000 min bi... eeeph.. I would be well and deep in danger zone.. 2/5 games? br wise.. yes.. availability of good games .. ?? players seem to be a mix of both lower stakes and higher stakes players..

I am getting all ticklish regarding the options..

Time for a update...

Looks like I am committed into buying a high end folding bike. Only trouble is that manufacturer is not accepting orders due to material shortage bugger me.

As a temporary solution I have ordered a cheap&heavy entry level bike. $240 taken out of BR to cover the cost. I should get the bike around 6th or 10th Dec.

Couple of weeks of traveling & meeting friends without poker. Now fairly settled in and exploring local options for poker. Lots of twist, turns and pitfalls on my way down here. Too long story to write down now.. perhaps later on.

Getting my feet wet (both figuratively and literally), bit up on poker so ATH!

Cheers mates!

Hello mates,

5-10 NLHE.

Hero has been playing tight. One big pf AI raise where people commented and speculated value or bluff.

Hero has roughly 2k, villain covers.

Pf there is a raise (by villain I think) .. not a big one.
Hero limps
Spoiler:
(5c,6c)
, villain raises, (to 35 I think).. caller or two.. hero calls from early position.

Flop 2d 4c 9s

Hero bets 75 ( lightish bet,, rougly halfis pot), villain calls, other folds.

Turn 7c.

Hero bets 300 ( roughly potish), Villain raises to 700 after bit over standardish consideration. hero is bit surprised by this (might show).. Hero annouces All in. Villain asks for a count and starts to consider.. It is 1100 more for villain to call (which he dose).

As the call is announced I am very certain villain has set.

I ask onece or twice.. villain is indifferent and lets hero choose.. Hero opts to run it twice..

Burn and 3c..
Hero "thats me, hit" (flush)
burn and second river 7c
Hero "thas me too" (flush)
Villain "I got both!"
hero (thinks) wait!! what?!? You had a set! didn't you? what did you call my 1,1k shove with?
Spoiler:
Villain show AcQc while hero tables 6c5c and announces.. "uuhm straight fulsh on top I think?" and at vary latest tables the hand at this point.

hero or one of the observers points out the second straight flush on second river too for mother of all hail maries scoop!!

Obviously villain was quite smitten by the results and by the fact that I did my play with just 6 high.

ATH!, super-green! super-green!

Oi mates,

couple of weeks poker behind me. As here is a lot bigger player pool than back home, the difference between players are also a lot bigger than back home.

This (I think) is partially reason why I have experienced quite big swings. Another reason is that I am drawn to bigger games although I know it is not correct brm vise.

Which leads to a dilemma. I have slided down from my high water mark and I am now 'somewhat on black'. Now I have the option to play some more (and risk going to the red) or to lock down my winnings and 'whimp out' of the games.

Playing smaller has not proven as a profitable solution for me. I have had trouble adjusting to the local style of playing.

As I write this I am on black roughly my accommodation costs for the trip so that would still be fairly ok. I have pondered my situation for couple of days and I think I will opt to play some more.

br: ~$13.000 Iceberg salad green..
