Hi all,

Thought it was about time I made one of these for some extra motivation.

About me:
My name's Abe and I'm 18, from Northern Ireland. Currently in first year at university in Scotland studying accountancy. 'Kerny005' on Pokerstars.

I've been playing poker for over 2 years but have never really taken the game that seriously - never studying or working on my game. I am currently backed by #TeamBogan Online and have started to work hard on my game this year, reviewing tons of HHs as well as a fair bit of one on one coaching from some sickos (thanks Bogan/Dino/Rowniwn.) So I've been beating the games I've been playing fairly well this year, starting at the $2/180s and am now playing a mix of $2, $8, and $3r 180 mans and some MTTs.

Goals:
-To move up through and crush the 180 mans over the next couple of months
-Work on my game as much as possible, reviewing HHs on my own and with others as well as receiving personal coaching
-Play minimum of 1500 games per month (3000/month when I finish uni for the year after April)
-Update this thread every few sessions at least
-Actually go to class and pass my exams this semester

Eventually I would like to move away from 180 mans - no longer use them as my main grinding game and move up and focus more on MTTs. However this is more of a long term goal and I'd like to keep this thread more relevant to the short term; for the next few months at least.

UPDATE 1:

Played ~120 games yesterday (+ some FPP sats) and got a small session in today too - was planning on playing a lot more but woke up way too hungover and slept pretty much all day so only got in 60 games.

Lost some money playing yesterday but got a $140 refund from server problems on Tuesday (which I will add to profit as I never previously accounted for it) and another $140 or so from playing FPP sats to end the day up $43.90.

Only regged for a couple hours today but won a 3r 180 and and had a good few other cashes to finsih up $450.41.

Shoud be able to hit Gold Star for this month too which would be a first. Need another 360 or so VPPs.

Done just one session with Abe, but I think it went really well, and helped a lot. Looking forward to doing more and working with this man in the future =)

Update 2 - 02/03:

Hey all,

Not played as much as I had hoped over the last 5 days or so. Spent a lot of the time being hungover after a couple of rough nights, one of which I ended up being in hospital after. Note to self: don't smash my face off the ground.

So I've only played 3 sessions since last update, around 300 games or so. Had a sweet 2hour+ HH review with Dino on Wednesday night which was awesome. Had my best ever session at 180s today, though - was playing just 2 and 3r 180s, had decent profit in the 2s I played and managed to get 4 2nds in 3rs. Little dissappointed I couldn't win at least one of them HU but I can't complain, ran like God for most of the FTs and finished up over $1300 in just 110 or so games.

Hey , I am very interessted by your routin and the thing you play , at the moment I try making a BR for starting grinding 2.5$ 180 but I thinks I need at least 100 buy-in for start or what BR management do you use ??
At the moment I am stuck at ~120 $ have been broke for a few time when was playing for fun :x but now I am really motived for grind the 180 with a good BRM, can you give me some advice please ,what do you thinks is a good thing for grow my BR for grinding the 180 2.5$ ????

I don't really have much of a routine tbh. I just try to play most days and reg for at least 3-4 hours when I do, usually starting at around 1 or 2 in the afternoon so I can do other **** at night - regging mainly $2 and $3.50r 180s and some $8s too. There's a pretty high risk of going broke with just 100 BI at the $2.50 180s if you are new to the games. If you're at $120 I'd be playing the $1 45 and 90 man and start mixing in 2s when you hit $300 or so. (Be prepared to move back down if that does not go well at first)

Update 3 - 08/03

Hey,

Got pretty decent volume last 5 days or so (would have like to have played more but decided to go to some classes). Cut down on tables a lot of the time as I found myself missing a lot of spots when I had too maybe tables up so tried to not go over 30 tables the majority of the time over the last week or so.

Also been going out less which is nice cos I generally can never play the next day as hangovers kill me and I was going 3+ times a week in January and a lot of February.
