I am a professional poker player from London. I have been grinding live cash for years. I am 38 years old. I have never given online a proper go and largely messed around online playing cash.

I was always keen to try the Chris Ferguson bankroll challenge. I do not want to start from nothing. I was going to start with 1k but due to current deposit limits, can only deposit 1k a day. I donated 300 bucks messing about earlier today. I have just deposited $700 and will not mess around any more and I shall focus on this.

I am not sure how much I will play but it will not be full-time. I have a few business things which hopefully will happen, plus manage my own rental property etc.

I am keen to see if I can make this work. I will follow the below rules as per the challenge:

1. I will never risk more than 5% of my bankroll in sit-and-gos and cash games.
2. I shall not risk more than 2% of my bankroll in MTT's and not risk more than 0.5% in rebuy tournaments.
3. I shall get out of a cash game before the blinds reach me if more than 10% of my bankroll is on the table.

This is going to be a real grind but I am looking forward to the challenge. This will be a good practice of discipline, especially if I have to step down. I am used to playing 5/10 and 10/20 live, so this will also be an exercise to detach myself from the money. I will have to play my A game and concentrate in like 10 dollar pots or whatever it will be, so good practice for discipline which can only be good for you as a poker player.

It will be interesting to see if I can do this challenge and compare whether I do it or not compared to what people think.

I must at all times follow the rules, anyone can sit in a big game and run good but that is all irrelevant. The challenge must follow the rules.

Good luck with that! I am also doing the 10k/1 year challenge on Global Poker right now (only MTT & SNG). Started with the free $20 they give you for signing up, and ran it up past $2,500 so far (including cashing some out for a nice mothers day dinner). I don't play very much due to a busy family life, and I probably wont reach my goal if I don't start putting in more volume. But for me, BRM is key.

the BRM seems great
but to me, it seems not too much focus, cash game, SNG, MTT....
we have a goal which is good, but there is no plan, like how many hands play per week, which level of game to play to finally reach $10K, so we can break it down to detail

Just an update about this.

My bankroll was just over $1300 and I was doing well, mainly in tournaments. However, for some reason GG would keep on locking my account and I would have to send emails back stating that I have no problem at all with gambling. They would open my account again and I would play for a few days, yet this would continue to happen again. I told them that this was extremely annoying and I have told them numerous times that I have no problem with poker, gambling etc and that I am playing for very small amounts too in relation to what I have. I even showed them bank statements etc. Anyway, the final time this happened just annoyed me to no end. I told them to close my account and I shall play at Pokerstars.

All very annoying but playing somewhere else will be better.
