Hi everyone! My name is Peter I’m a 27yr old electrician from England, I love Golf (6 handicap) Football and I’m a fanatical Everton fan, I find Work pretty monotonous at times and i’ve always dreamed of being a pro poker player. I’ve been playing poker for about 2yrs recreationally and I find SNG poker very interesting because of the different decisions required due to the constant stack size changes. I’ve always sort of envied the high stakes players who travel the world playing poker making serious $$$$ lol! Hopefully one day I’ll get there myself (tough I know) so I decided to start my journey at BPC. I currently have $1000 and my goal is to have a bankroll of $60k in a year from now. It'll be a battle but i'm up for it, if anyone who has done this has some advice let me know.
Thanks.

playing on 888 and stars going to starting at around the $3-$5 levels mainly 6 and 9 man turbos. How many buy ins do you normally need to win to move up a level?

If I were you I'd trying to be grinding a decent sample (2kish games maybe more) to get an idea of where you stand.

I wouldn't say it's how many you need to win in your case it's playing enough that you feel comfortable with moving up. (since you already have more than enough BI's for the starting stake you are playing).

I'm not a betting man but just from your original post I'd put a fair bit of money on this not working out. The fact that you envy high stakes players and that you want to be making "serious $$$$ lol!" alongside you not even knowing the right BRM restrictions probably means you're going to fall at the first hurdle. Not to mention you're picking the hardest format to become a pro in currently.

My advice, work harder than you have for your gold handicap (awesome btw) and job combined. If you're not truly passionate about poker and you're not willing to commit the majority of time to it then good luck trying to become a pro in 2015.

I'm already sensing alarm bells but please, please, prove me wrong!
