Might go into history later, fact of the matter is im pretty much broke at the moment. Sick of running my bankroll up to a couple K few times after black friday, then losing it all because of my lack of bankroll management skills and indiscision about the type of games i want to engage in (been switching from FR to HU and 6max lately). Always been a fullring player, though i feel the games are boring and slow, and pretty much a waste of time to if u want to learn proper poker eventually (by this i mean grow as a poker player) and play the higher limits. I guess u reach a dead end at some point in your career where u lack the appropiate skills to engage in more difficult games.

This leads me to decide to start my career all over starting at 5NL 6-max (on pokerstars). Maybe 40K hands lifetime 6max experience alltogether so im expecting its going to be bumpy. Working part-time and uni student in cognitive neuroscience (some delay) 27y old . Ba in computer science though. From Holland!

* Post hands where i'm not really sure if played correct and status updates on a regular basis.

Played couple of sessions from the beginning of february, results so far so good:

Update:

It's been 37 days since i started my challenge. Soon after got into a 5NL downswing and didn't feel like updating right away. Ran pretty disgusting TBH. 5NL seemed pretty easily beatable so started up some 10NL tables which seemed pretty easy to beat too. Not that much player skill difference there. After a really disgusting 10NL downswing (same story) opened a bunch of 16NL tables. Seemed easy to beat too.

Felt really boring grinding the stakes after a while so decided to sit into some HU50NL tables (broke a promise to myself, bankroll/game wise). Really needed a mental boost there and it worked out. Played only fish, about 7 players both SS and FS (751 HU hands in total).

Need to stop grinding when i'm tired. My winrate did suffer from that, though its not that bad still. I will continue to grind the 16NL tables for some time, might play some more juicy 50NLHU tables, not sure yet. Will post some hands in near future.

I got into a pretty nasty spot yesterday.

Hand:

NL Holdem $0.16(BB)
SB ($22.01)
BB ($29.13)
UTG ($8.08)
UTG+1 ($20.11)
Hero ($18.42)
BTN ($78.79)

Dealt to Hero 5 5

fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.48, Hero calls $0.48, BTN calls $0.48, SB calls $0.40, fold

FLOP ($2.08) 6 8 5

SB bets $21.53 (AI), UTG+1 folds, Hero calls $17.94 (AI), BTN folds

TURN ($37.96) 6 8 5 Q

RIVER ($37.96) 6 8 5 Q A

Hero shows 5 5
(Pre 19%, Flop 10.4%, Turn 2.3%)

SB shows 6 6
(Pre 81%, Flop 89.6%, Turn 97.7%)

SB wins $36.46

Villain is 23/16/1.5/oop bet 67% over 360 hands (seemed like a reg, yet no notes on him)
I used my whole timebank to decide whether to call or to fold. Couldn't immage villain would overb donkshove with a set or straight so made the call eventually (sigh), hoping he was on a draw/strong overp like a slowplayed KK or AA (though unlikely) or possibly have misclicked all in.

Still i made a big mistake calling i guess, because i could have got away easily without risking more money and losing only a few BB.
