Re: $500 to $5k this summer

Lost $1.24 today, played some rush poker, going to try get the $50 bonus for 100 points each day for 7 days, hate rush poker but hopefully I can profit out of this. I did lose about $40 playing rush today though

Kind of sick hand here, had him on a small over pair or a flush draw both of which fold the turn, moreso the flush draw as i think he folds the overpair to the 3bet on the flop, I guess the only hand he can call with is the AKs

Full Tilt Poker $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em - 8 players

CO: $25.00

SB: $32.27

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is MP2 with J A
2 folds, MP1 calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1, 2 folds, SB calls $0.90, 1 fold, MP1 calls $0.75

Flop: ($3.25) 6 6 2 (3 players)
SB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $1.75, SB raises to $3.50, MP1 folds, Hero raises to $7.25, SB calls $3.75

Turn: ($17.75) K (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $16.75 all in, SB calls $16.75

Re: $500 to $5k this summer

your non showdown winnings should be higher than your showdown winnings...usually means a huge leak in your game. Its easier to fix winning more races or being able to fold AK to a 4bet from certain regs etc (showdown winnings) than it is non showdown winnings because that means you're getting outplayed often

That really depends on your style I guess, but I never herad that non showdown should be higher than showdowns, ofc I would like non showdown to be positive, but I haven't seen many, if any micro graphs with non showdowns higher than showdowns.

Nah, i wasnt saying that you're not a winner (because you are one) just that its easier to correct/find leaks if you're showdown winnings are the ones that are BE or even negative, because a lot of correcting that is going to be 1. Running under ev and 2. Making a small preflop adjustment against a certain person or with a certain hand.

This is actually a good read about showdown vs non showdown winnings and how both styles work.

http://www.bonusespoker.org/poker-st...down-winnings/

edit: and fwiw, ive seen tons of graphs with much higher non showdown than showdown winnings. My buddy whose a 200nl grinder is negative with his showdown winning about 2k and then up tons with nonshowdown winnings...hes made a few adjustments but also hes running about 2500 under ev which means that hes losing lots of spots where hes getting it all in pre (showdown winnings)

Re: $500 to $5k this summer

Thanks for the advice and the link, going to read it now, but as you said your buddy plays NL200, its easier to get a better non showdown line there than NL25/50 as the donks dont call you off with TP no kicker etc.

I definetly have leaks in my game to do with non showdown winnings, but I think if I could get a straight line I would be very happy.

yea thats definitely true, my non showdown winnings are currently higher than showdown, but I dont have a big enough sample yet...only about 10k hands as ive just switched to playing some cash with my sng grind (25nl mostly, some 50nl). And yea, straight line ftw on that tbh

Re: $500 to $5k this summer

Played some rush again today. NL25 rush is really a lot softer than I first thought, guys call 3bets so light its crazy. Ran under EV but w/e I still made a small profit.

Hand historys won't convert. Anyone know what 500 read timeout means? It keeps saying that.

Hopefully you're that way too; more profit in the long run, and its going to help you when you move up

Anyway I made a profit of $107.71 so it was a good day. Getting close to my $150 mid year bonus now so hoping to clear that tomorrow. Total BR @ $1901

I think I'm ok calling there, he obviously doesn't have a flush and I dont think he ships with a set, I'm putting him on a hand like AJ no diamond or KJ/KQ with 1 diamond. I have so many outs I think the call is right.

Yeah I think that sounds about right, I first moved up to NL50 at $1,500, moved down since when I hit a bad run, will be taking another shot soon though.

Biggest winning hand. Hero call in the end, but I had played it so weak I had to look him up.

Def makes you harder to play against though; as you said yesterday u knew i was squeezing light but you couldntd rlly do anything about it, plus, wen u actually have it you get paid off

120k hands in a week?? thats some sick volume, at least for me... thats awesome... im kind of in the same situation as you but im taking it a little more slowly and i have like half your roll, also it would take me like 3 months to get that many hands in haha. good luck with your challenge, seems possible if you have some run good if/when you move up to 50nl/100nl

Re: $500 to $5k this summer

damn man i had a bad session yesterday - and the last few days to be honest! ive gone from $950 down to $755 in like 2/3 days! so now im back to my starting br! I cant see what i have done wrong, my 4 biggest hands have all be coolers aa lost to kk all in pre, aq lost to 78 all in pre, set tens lost to str8 made up from turn n river all in on post flop and last but not least kk to ak! Damn all i can say is good job im sticking to the levels and not taking shots otherwise i think i would be broke! well tonight is back to the grind i suppose - interested to see how much rakeback i get tonight too! (does anyone know if i will loose rb if i buy something from the ft store for 14k ftp?)
Sorry to hijack ya thread just thought i would let you know how im doing and see if you had any tips for me?! Thanks!
