So far I've turned in $40($30 + $10bonus) into over $500. Now I have a bankroll to work with, I want to continue to grow it.

Right now my primary game is NL $20, followed by $3 and $5 MTT.

Initially I built my bankroll on $1 SnGs, now the $6 SnGs are an apparent leak. I also have been having sub-par tournament results) My sharkscope stats show me doing well after the first 500 games and then plummetting my past 400 or so games and shows me as a losing player(however sharkscope missed at least 2 final tables of mine, it seems like this is a glitch with Global).

As far as bankroll management goes, I'm sticking with $3 and $5 MTTs, $6 SnGs, and $20NL. I usually play 4 tables at a time, sometimes up to 6 which is about all my lap top can handle due to screen size.

I figure I would post on here to give myself a goal and pick up some advice along the way.

Off to a horrible start. Down $85 to day. Missed everybdraw, would hit a set vs overs, only for my opponent to river a bigger set. Even when I made the right call....my opponent would hit.

While there's no doubt I made some mistakes, they were compounded by being hit with a cold deck.

I may be able to get a few hours in Tuesday night, after that I won't have time until the weekend.

Not a good way to start. Losing over 4 buy-ins in a night stings.

Turned it around today. Got 4th in a $5(+5add on) MTT, did well in PLO 10, and after a rough start made a big come back in my go to game, 20 NL.

My bankroll is over 650 now. Up about $200 today. Not going to be able to play the next 3 nights because of work. I will try to do some homework on the game.

I am thinking maybe I will record some of my sessions to help review my play.

That's a massive day If you have 650, and had a 200 day! I'm not a math wizard but that's a nice percentage to gain!

A little over $100 of that was getting deep in a tournament. The rest was from grinding it out at the cash tables. I played for over 6 hours with 4 tables, which for me is a considerable amount of volume.

After one of my worst days online recently, I was having some serious doubts about my ability and if playing online is worth it, then after having one of my best days(post black friday) I feel much better and more confident in my skill.

I know I have a bunch of leaks I am not aware of, hopefully this challenge will enable me to plug many of those leaks and play great poker consistently.

Up and down day. Made a final table but made a stupid mistake and ended up in 9th. Lost every $6 SnG I played, Ive been running ice cold in those, I'll write it off as variance but It is getting frustrating considering I built a bankroll of $1 SnGs and now SnGs are my biggest leak. It's not like I am getting beat by better opponents, but I'm in the Red after several hundred so something needs to give.

I was able to grind out some profit on the NL 20 tables and over the $700 mark(for now). No reason I shouldn't make it to 1,000 by the end of the month. If I can put in 15-20hours a week of good poker, I think I can be close to my goal of $5k around the 4th of July.

I still have a long road ahead but feel like I learn a little every session and keep making better decisions.

Rough day. Down almost $100. Could not do anything right. Down to around $650. I feel like I'm stuck at this level. I had nothing to my way, almost every bluff, semi bluff was called, could not hit a draw on my semi bluffs, and when I made a hand, I could get no action. I did make one really bad move for buy in at 20NL...but gained information from an opponent. Now I know he will never lay down top pair on the turn...

Since I can't use a HUD on my go to site, I have to rely on notes and memory from past opponents.

Hopefully my next session will get me back on track.

Still haven't found my groove in 20 NL. Got 2nd in a tournament for over $200. Flopped top pair against KK...not much I could do there...had an up and down final table, took a couple of bad beats but didn't get too tilted. Still disappointing not to win.

My bankroll is now 890...hopefully I can continue to move up. Getting ever so close to being bankrolled for 50 NL

Over $900 now, been a rollercoaster, was down to less than $800 after a rough session and recovered my losses. Still struggling to find time to play, however this weekend I got some free time.
Been looking at GTO and solvers to improve my game.

Finally cracked $1000, though I played very little this week unfortunately. Even though I am now bankrolled for 50 NL, I will not move up until I have at least $1250 so I have plenty of room to play good poker without fear about losing too much and having to go back down to 20NL and win 10+ buy-ins to rebuild my bankroll.

Because I play on Global, I can not use the tools that many others are using to track and analyze their play. I have noticed most others with similar goals has all these fancy graphs and such to show their progress.

I am seriously considering joining ACR so I can use something Poker tracker, poker stove, ect... to help analyze my play, plus getting rakeback would be a nice bonus.

I had a rough day yesterday....ended up down about $100 for the day. Today I played nothing but PLO. Won A $5 tournament worth almost $290(relatively small field). Very happy with my play, only had a couple of hands I was not happy with my play. The 2nd and 3rd place players very strong(one was up $60,000 on sharkscope)

My bankroll is now over $1250. I can start taking shots at NL 50 and bigger tournaments.

Just 2 more double ups and I will reach my goal of $5k. Still a long way to go, but becoming more confident I will get there.

Hey! GL with your challenge, I started my challenge today at 2NL zoom and used to be a SNG pro. Do you think 20 BI's is enough for cash games??

20BI's should be enough for one, maybe two tables....but run cold and you will be quickly moving back down in stakes. Some will tell you need 40 BI's.....which is definitely the safe approach, perhaps more if you play 8+ tables. Obviously for PLO, 20 BI's is not enough.

I still haven't played 50NL....now I'm thinking maybe want to get to $1500 or 30 BI's, though I have watched the action on a table or two and even put some notes on a couple of players.

You can do it with $40, it's been so long since Ive played the Zoom format that I am not familiar with the swings, I do believe normal tables will have a bit lower variance but no nearly as much action.

Before Black Friday, I was crushing Full Tilt's $10+1 Rush tournaments. If I recall correctly when we got 9 or maybe 6 handed, it just became a regular final table. Really wish I could find games like that again. If I could find games that soft, I could seriously quit my job and play online full time.

That said, this was an unproductive weekend. I was too tired and barely got anytime in at the tables. Never even had time for a MTT.....I was unable to get time off for the WPT events at the Hard Rock too.

Just played some 20NL....though probably should have been playing 20PLO to.maximize my potential profits.

My bankroll is now over $1300...slowly moving up.

Global makes is tough to look through hand histories, but I will try to post a few hands that I am not happy with how I played.

8 handed 0.1/0.2

SB: 19.6
BB: 21.53
UTG: 23.3
UTG+1: 13.7
LJ: 24.4
HJ : 21.48
CO(Hero): 19.5
BTN: 17.8

UTG calls 0.2
UTG+1 calls 0.2
LJ calls 0.2
HJ Raises 1.30
Hero(A K) Re-Raise to 4.30
Folds to HJ, HJ calls
Pot 9.50

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
In hindsight, I feel like I should have raised a bit higher, the HJ was the most aggressive at the table full of mostly passive limp callers.

Flop
Q 8 2

HJ Checks

What should I do here? I have 15.2 left in 9.50 pot........

Check back imo, also the size is fine and like 3xing is fine too I think in position, also these situations come up very often in cash games and if you don't know what to do here you're better off moving down instead of moving up, play like 50k hands minimum at 10NL to see how well you do before going to 50NL no matter how big your bankroll is.

Also as I read above you played $5 mtt's with 600 which is very risky bankroll management. When I used to play sngs I wanted 250 bi minimum, for mtts it should be even more, can do with less if you're only playing regular speed mtts and not turbo's

Im guessing a GTO solver would bet big most of the time, then split on checking or betting small the rest of the time. This one one of those situations that I would love to see what the GTO solution is.

Had I bet, 5.6 I could easily justify shoving on the flop....that is the main reason I think the pre-flop 3 bet is a bit low...and did not consider this when I made that raise

I'm not moving down to 10 NL, unless I run really really bad... this is just one hand the stuck out from my last session. There are a few more, but it's a chore to input the data from Global Poker.

Since Global does not allow HUDs, also does not allow you to track other players stats, I am thinking about playing some on ACR, if for nothing else so I can analyze my own stats better and make adjustments as needed.

I built this bankroll from $40(and did not take advantage of the daily sign in bonuses until this month), so I played way above the recommended bankroll to get where Im at....and really did not play a safe bankroll strategy until I had about $150.

The MTTs I play are mostly $5+5 addon, and will occasionally play an $11. For SnGs, I play the $6 to $11 range.....while the $11+11 MTTs are a bit high for my current bankroll, my results have justified it. 100 BI's is plenty... especially given the soft field.

For cash games, I'm playing 20NL and 10 and 20 PLO....as much as I want to, I still can not justify playing 50 NL yet...

Current bankroll ~1300

Achievement unlocked.

Took longer than I had hoped for with many downswing where I lost 50% or more of my bankroll....kept swinging.

While not impressive for most of you,not bad for a weekend warrior.

Hoping to put in more hours in the future.
