Hi, my name is Naz and I'm from the UK, Iv been playing poker for a few years now. I use to play a lot of card games for money with friends, One day I was introduced to poker at a friends house, After learning how to play I then fell in love with the game after winning the first hand and also realising that this game was more based on skill than luck. After that I played in casinos now and then and done well, I was the rock tight player on the table who would get to the river with the nuts. I never had problems with tilt issues when I played live but when I play online I have serious tilt issues specially when I play the fast format of poker, I feel as I'm getting bluffed a lot so I end up making calls that I should not and also when I get outdrawn in a big pot situation I go on tilt. Playing poker online in a room where there is no one apart from you is boring and I have no friends that are interested in the game like I am so it is hard to discuss anything with them about poker because they play it just for fun and have no intention to try and get better, I have struggled for years and now I have come here for support and help, being able to chat and ask for advise and get support is what I need to help me progress, at least I know I have some support giving me confidence when I need it the most. $40 to $4000 might be a long shot but I'm going to give it a try. I will be playing a single fast forward table on party poker for this challenge starting from 1c - 2c and moving to 2c - 5c when I have around $125, I will try and play 2 sessions a day each session being no more than 3.5 hours that's a total of 7 hours a day over 5 days a week. I'm not working at the moment so I have plenty of time on my hand but I am also lazy when it comes to online poker. I will try and post my daily results within 24 hours of completing my sessions. Hope to start by 15th of March or before then. Thank you friends.

1st LEVEL 1c-2c (Bankroll $40)
2nd LEVEL 2c-5c (Bankroll $125)

Finished the session, was planning on playing around 1750 hands only managed 1255 and made a profit of $1.53. Did not start very well as you can see, had not played for a while so I felt a little uncomfortable, I could just not get into it. Hopefully I will try and do much better tomorrow.

What a horrible day yesterday, was ready to play a good game and then the computer crashed, was able to play around 10 minutes and then spent all day trying to get the computer to work. Ended up restoring the computer to its factory state and the tried to download Partypoker and could not, my laptop is around 10 years old and does not seem to update anymore. Going to need a couple of days to try and see what I'm going to do, either try and get this laptop to work or buy another, what ever happens i will be carrying on with this challenge, was planning to take the weekend off anyways, will keep this post updated.

I'm hoping to do something similar.

I started with $40($30+$bonus) and currently have around $700. Hoping to get to $5,000 by the end of the year. I figure once I am bankrolled for 50NL, I will get there fairly quickly. I also feel like the micros(4NL to 20NL) are tough in the sense that they are full of nitty regs, where as the small stakes tables have more action.

Just take it in to a computer shop they can probably update it for you cheap. sounds like you might as well buy a new one. i would recommend a desktop.

I expect my win rate per 100 hands to go up when I start playing 50NL, vs 20NL. In theory it should take me less time to go from 1500 to 5000 than it did going from 150 to 500. Also, the more I play the more I learn and get better.

I feel like my biggest drawback is finding time to play, my work schedule(2nd shift, 5pm until 4am) makes it impossible to find the time during the week.

I bought a laptop off amazon for less than $200 that has a decent size screen and numeric keyboard that works fine for playing 4 tables.

I'm not sure how the used market is in the UK, but in the US I can find one for the $100 range. For me a laptop is my only option.

Best of luck. Don't let the small stakes discourage you. A small win is still a win!!

I have managed to borrow a computer from my sister for now, she said that i can use it as long as i want. I do plan on buying a laptop but cant afford one now and if i buy one i might as well pay that little more and get a good one since my stuff always lasts a long time, i like to look after my stuff, the laptop that i am having a problem with is 12 years old. I will buy one at the end of this challenge with the profits if i get there.
