My background:

I've played several million hands online, mostly .25/50 - 1/2 NL 6 max and some 2/4. I started playing poker when I was 17, I somehow managed to win a tourney on Paradisepoker for $9k, and have been hooked every since. I'm now 26 years old. I started taking poker more seriously after I graduated in 2009 and played pretty much full time until black Friday. After having most of my bankroll frozen on UB, I moved to Vancouver for a month and set up what I needed. My results were sub par which I blame on me being lazy and not improving my game, much harder games, and lack of sample size. I've been too much of a bum the last two years, so I think it's time to get to work. Hopefully this thread will give me some incentive and keep me focused on my goals. Poker allows me to make my own schedule and not be tied down to anything, even if I'm making a few less dollars than the next guy, I think the freedom that poker gives you makes up for that.

Goals:
-Earn $30k from May 1 - Dec 31
My perceived chance of achieving: 75%

-Win 3 seats to the $500 Main Events satellites on Bovada
My perceived chance of achieving: 40%

-Win a seat to the Main Event on Bovada
My perceived chance of achieving: 15%

Satellites: $16.50 -> $75 -> $500 -> $15k package

-Start going back to the gym, eating better, and drinking less

May 1:
I live in Montana, which has the max pot limit of $300. In October this limit is going to be raised to $800.

I played a quick 3 hour session of 1/2. Not much happened except I lost a $300 pot, KJ < K2 on KK892 board, I got crai on the turn, which I think is pretty bad. Then I won a few pots without showdown and then won a $150 pot with JJ > K9s aipf. This was the second to last hand of the night, they don't realize they can cash the chips out. Shhhh..... no one tell them. Ended up -$50 on the night, 3 hours.

I played a lot of hands tonite and made 2 really good calls for pretty big pots.

I flopped the 2nd nut flush on a K68sss flop, I got all in against the nut flush, low got there so we chopped the $300 pot.

I knew May was going to be slow since I'm going to be fairly busy, but I'm still going to try and play as much as I can.

Not a single NL game tonite, which is pretty disappointing since I'm not going to be able to play much this weekend. It's probably 40/60 (Yes/No)on going to Vegas on the 27th now. There is a structured 10/20 game running right now, with variance bigger than Nicki Minaji's butt and edges smaller than Lil Wayne.

I've really slacked on playing satellites to the ME on Bovada lately. Only played 26 $16.50's and won only 3 $75 seats which I've already used up, and placed 2nd 4 times for $15 each.

Here's a 1/3 hand from last night I played.

There was a $6 button straddle and a min raise to $12, I called with KJ in late position and so did 5 others including the button.
Flop is K68ss($70) a player bets 15, 1 caller, I raise to 45. The button shoves for $360 and I cover.
The button is drunk and I played this hand with him earlier:

I straddle otb, 2 callers, I make it 25 with KK, he insta raises to 210 with 40 behind, and I lose a 520 pot to AK.

So, now the pot is ~$200 and its 315 more to me.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't do this with better than 1 pair, I ask him a few questions and he seems to be uncomfortable. I tank for awhile and call. thoughts?

Salvaging May in Vegas:

I was in Vegas for a week and was pretty happy with my results and hours. I played for 47 hours and earned $2230 before expenses, and even took one day off completely. One of my good friends works for Allegiant Air and hooked my up with two $27 one way tickets to and from Vegas. I crashed on some of my other buddy's couch, who are dealing the WSOP and staying for the duration, for just $20 a night. So I only had to spend $194 round trip including hotels. Seeing all the pros was cool and all, but seeing and being 1 foot from Micheal Phelps was by far the coolest.

So my last night there I got a wild hair and decided to play $10 per point OFC, 4 handed at the Rio. I had had a few beers so I said why not and bought in for $2k in bills. I ran pretty good while the others were playing slightly more aggressive than me, trying to get into Fantasy Land, but thankfully never achieving QQ or better on top. I think I only fouled my hand 1 time in 4 hours, hitting quads and full houses on 13th street several times only have 25% to hit. Swings were obviously huge, winning and losing $400+ a hand. I was up $1200 at one point but was very happy with my +72 point win when I left the table at about 7:30 AM with Robert Mizrachi and Men the Master playing 25/point at the table next to mine.

How would you guys act during this situation?

So, I'm playing in a huge 2/5 game that's playing pretty deep. The standard open is to $40 and pretty much everyone is calling. I have KQo and there is 6 of us to the flop of KK6r ($240). Someone bets out $60, everyone calls and so do I, I'm second to last to act. After the last person calls while the dealer is in mid burn and turn, someone at the table says "Who wants to chop it". Now the pot has swelled to $600, and of course, everyone at the table throws up their arms and says that they want to chop. The dealer stops and people keep asking me what I want to do. I tell the kid he is trying to angle shoot. They say they can call the floor over and he'll allow us to chop it up, but they finally get the point and realize I don't want to. The turn brings the 9h which puts a FD on board now, I bet $200 and everyone folds. I've never been in this situation before or heard of anything like this before. What do you do have complete air?

Started the month off good. We had a double head softball game tonite. The second game I went 3 for 3 with 3 home runs. Third one was an out because you only get 4 per team, but whatever. I only got 2.5 hours of poker in but I won $60. Hopefully the games pick up and I can start logging some hours.
