NL25 shot over. I lost all my extra cash and then some. I wrote a huge post explaining it all but then my computer ****ed me about and lost it.

Cliffs: AK<QQ AIPF Vs aggro BVB for 110BB, Flopped set<turned GS for 60BB.
Stats were really tight, opening a little less, folding a little more but ending up with 19% WSD. They always had everything. I had a lot of huge hands when they had nothing and got outdrawn or called down when I was semi bluffing. One of those days where the 47/3 fish you set up to your right is rivering 2 pairs etc.

I started to tilt and won a big triple barrel bluff vs a guy I'd been in BVB wars with. Spotted the telltale signs of tilt coming and quit. Controlled my emotions well and did my post session review. Wrote it all up then computer spazzed and now I'm pretty pissed off. I'm going to have some time off I think to calm down.

I'm going to go back to NL5 as I'm not able to beat these higher levels. Whats worse is I don't really see what I can do to do it. Hopefully with a couple of days off I'll see whats going on. Or get a bit luckier. Either or.

BR is $472

NL10 treated me very nicely. I decided that the NL5 talk was just the tilt talking as learning to play NL5 again is not going to help me plug the leaks for NL25. Instead I decided to bring the NL25 style to NL10 with more aggression and better table selection. Took me a long time to get sessions going as I was quitting whenever an aggro player made my life tough on a table but it went really well. Positive redline for the first time ever and some decent cards as well. When you have that image though you actually get paid on them!

I've rebuilt the BR to NL25 shot taking levels again. This time though I'm going to mix limits for a while playing on the best tables available whatever the limit and see how that goes. Hopefully will keep me on my best game not playing like a weakling on the NL25 tables as the 'shot' won't be front of mind. Effectivily this is a coping strategy for results orientation getting in the way of EV choices so I will need to face into this at some point. That or build the BR high enough that it doesn't phase me. Losing a flip for a $25 BI sucks when all I see is the hours I put into NL10 to get that $25!

Interesting though. Also good to look back at the post above and laugh at home much my computer tilted me. After coping with the loss and coming off rationally, the loss of all that typing wound me up so much I had a full on tilt mindblank about next steps. I do think the analysis of the session was sound though. I'll go back and have a look at it to make sure but I think I just got smashed by better players use of 3betting, weak cards and tops of their ranges.

Boo hoo I lost, I'm playing the penny tables again booo hooo I don't even know how to improve anymore waaaahhhhhhaaaaa.

So I've been pretty lucky today. I had a good session on FT as there is this bankroll boost going on. I played a good session and rebuilt a bit more of the roll after the NL25 shot. Where the luck really kicked in was what I did with the FT points I earnt plus what I had saved. I bought a SNG ticket as I find the Ring Game tickets annoying as if you don't win straight away then you have to play short stacked which blows. Binked it. Used that to buy another at higher stake. Second place. Moved up again. Binked. Bought into MTT. FT that muvver. Net result was an additional $80.

BR is now at $605. Whats crazy is that of the $290 profit I've made only about $100 is directly from the tables. The rest is RB, bonuses, MTT luckbox and the extra money I put in for my NL25 shot. So while I'm ahead I'm not getting carried away!

Do you reckon it's worth for me to move my $180 BR to FTP to play for the bonus on 5NL? I 6-table regs and still have the first deposit bonus

Good question, where are you now? If you mean you are still unlocking first deposit bonus where you are then no I wouldn't. At 5NL you are probably only going to be able to unlock the $5 aspect of the FT Bankroll Builder.

If you mean you have no account at FT and can get first deposit there then yeah its an extra bit of value and I would consider it.

For me I only play FT and Stars. I am holding off going to other rooms until I'm at higher limits and have bigger BR so I can make sure I get max value from the deposit bonuses.

I never opened an account at FTP before, I get in like 2-3k hands a day, but if you'd reckon I would only get the $5 bonus maybe its not worth it.

Oh maybe you might be able to get the $50 one. I don't do anywhere near those sort of volumes normally. Worth a look next time IMO as its currently 4 days of the 10 in to earn the required points.

The big problem with FT program for me is you don't start getting cash RB until you have been on the site for a while (need to hit 30 day average run rate) and the points are generally not that valuable I don't think if you are not a SnG player.

I'd stay where you are for now.

First session of the day was an odd one. On two of my tables I was up against some crazy fish that were pot donking every flop after limp calling and shoving QJs pre etc. Also calling everything and firing huge bets around both IP and OOP.

This should have been the dream come true but they just kept on hitting it against me and donking off my chips to other people. Awful run ensued vs these two. I played ok elsewhere and I managed to stack another guy who called me off light assuming I was squeezing the fish again but this time I had AA vs his QQ. I felt bad for the guy as he just got really unlucky. I ended up at B/E but with a tiny fraction more luck I should have been making stacks.

I taken one and failed. I'm now mixing in NL16 and NL10. Then will mix in NL25 as well if I can recover my losses. BR is in a good place but as I mentioned most of it is not from table winnings so I'm slowing down. Basically I'll sit wherever there be fishies and try and get a good graph.

Graphs are tricky with playing in two sites but I'll do some from my FT account in a bit.

NL10 Rebuild on FT

Similar on Stars as well with NL25 boning me and NL10/NL16 treating me OK. Youi can probably see where I stopped grinding NL10 and moved into higher limit higher variance games!

Saver has not done me any good. Played a short session and as before same problem. I play ok against regs but short stack maniac fish crush me every time. This time I got caught by A3 two pair vs my AQs on the flop and he held up. Straight after another fish who had been calling down with everything hit trips on the flop calling a 3bet OOP with T8o and busted me. When I 3bet and the SPR gets that low I can't get away from any kind of hand so if they bink its a double up.

I think I need to stop 3 betting them even if its for value as it removes any edge I might have and instead makes it a luck game. AK vs T8o is not enough of an edge in that spot. I need to investigate my calling range and work on that.

Didn't follow my own advice. Continued to isolate vs loose monkeys and lose. Either I miss and have to fold or I hit and they hit harder. This is just downswong.

Then worst of all I spaz up an attempted bluff. 3bet bluff IP is OK but vs unknown is unneccessary. Raise of small donk I think is OK repping the King. Bet on the turn is a massive mistake. So tilted right now because of my awful play. I just don't have any postflop skill.

Second one I'm no so sure on. I call pre as lolz pot oddz. Min 3 bets like that always worry me though especially multiway as a lot of fishes do this with KK+. Kind of the like the limp shove line.

On the flop I can't fold TPTK on a paired board but assume if he bombs the turn its not a bluff and so my hand is dead. Thoughts?

Would have flopped nuts and turned super set up nuts vs two aggro players. I felt I dealt with it pretty well and didn't tilt it too much but took a break and when I came back I did this.

He was very passive. When he raises I should assume its 66, 88 or straight and therefore call raise to boat up. Any recreational player there is all sorts of draws so the stack off is fine I think but vs that guy its bad.

Then I played awesome for a while. Really pleased with how I handled the irritation of that. I lost a couple of 60/40's vs a crazy guy who was limp shoving 22 and K9s but still built a nice little win up.

Then it all went to hell. I got destroyed. 2 outer on the river for a full BI. Awesome. Should I have folded this? I bet small to get calls or spaz ranges. I couldn't think of a combo that would get here to beat me but maybe slowplayed KK or 88 but with 2 hearts on flop multiway that made no sense so I snapped it.

I also could hit no hands against stations. I still feel in reviewing these big losses that again the mistakes were not horrible (or if they were like vs the passive guy its not expensive). I'm just getting raped by variance. When you are at best a BE player a little downswing can be crushing. This is definately that.

BR now down to $515. I'm now BE from table play over 10k hands and only in profit from bonuses and binks. Not any skill.
